@Emma Smaledancing isn’t always about the facial expressions In the dance world especially in real competition like TDA the hardest and most prestigious dance competition in America , they care about dance skills and technique , both Brynn and kalani won the best dancer award , Brynn was in the mini division of the dance awards and kalani was in the junior placing first while Maddie placed fourth in the junior division and Maddie was a year older than the winner which was Tate. Tate McRae got 1st place and won , lily Gentile was 1st runner up or 2nd place , and Emma York was 2nd runner up or 3rd place , and Maddie was 3rd runner up or 4th. Maddie was using her signature facial expressions and still ended losing to 3 other girls 2 of which were younger and that had pretty much had blank faces but somewhat emoted through their bodies.
@Emma Smale and kalani placed in the top 3 of the teen division which was very impressive considering it’s much harsher than junior and end it up 3rd twice in 2015 and 2016, none of them really dance seriously or competitively anymore but when they used to, Kalani and Brynn were for a fact better dancers.
Maddie’s turn at the end was absolutely flawless👏🏽
Kalani and Chloe were probably the most elegant dancers on the team with a natural talent for ballet

well its because they first of all lost motivation but the flexiblility thing is probably because they hit puberty which makes you less flexible for a while. you just have to train past that

This audience was so rude. It's not like it's hard to tell when they are filming. I camera flying around the stage is definitely not hard to see. Also what do you think they're doing they're dance to bare silence. Being a cheerleader and a dancer it makes me angry.🙄😡

The girls were so beautiful in this dance. Kalanis introduction was so graceful and she has such fluid and beautiful moments. She did such an amazing job the whole dance. Maddies facials were amazing as usual! Her turns at the end were very nice and lovely and just amazing! Kendall was very soft and graceful in this dance and I was very drawn to her. Nia was very good. I like her better in powerful dances though but she worked hard. A few sloppy moments with kendall and nia though. Was mack in this dance? I didn't see her.

Although I miss Brooke and Paige being on the team because the way they went out was not their fault or doing, I think this is my favorite team that Abby has had. Chloe, Maddie, Kalani, Kendall, Nia, and Mackenzie as a group is simply amazing. Love them.

I think replacing Brooke and Paige with Kalani made this their strongest team. Kalani has it all.
kalani added a great piece to the team, but i miss brooke and paige because they were iconic og’s. paige’s bubbliness and brooke’s sass is what i miss most.

I'm happy Chloe got a turn sequence. Usually A by gives it to Maddie which is weird because she herself has said Chloe is the turner. But they both are great so Whatever I'm just happy to see it.
I always thought that was kinda weird too. Abby always says that Chloe is the best turner but Maddie always have the turn sequences. But I agree with you...I'm happy she had some kind of turn sequence.

I know I may not know much about dance, but when I was watching Chloe she reminded of a beautiful swan. :) Nia did an amazing job during this dance and she is really improving. Abby should put her as a lead in one of the dance :D Also 0:6-0:18 Kalani just amaze me how gentle, poise and graceful she can be in dancing! Awesome job girls! :P

I think this is one of the best group dances because they are all together (other than the beginning) and it looks graceful, and I think the choreography looks amazing with everyone crossing over and doing different things

MADDIE, MADDIE, Why was it always Maddie ? Well there was a very good reason why. Lifetime produced 31 episodes of "Dance Moms" last year. And that required Abby's "Elite TV team members" to learn around 90 different dance routines. Most of the girls were also on Abby's "Elite Competition Team" and they had to learn different routines for those contests as well. Question: How were they able to do that ? Answer: Maddie. As we shall see, Maddie wasn't born with a good "DANCE MEMORY." She was born with a superb dance memory. 'Dance memory' is the ability to be shown a dance routine, and then repeat it. To appreciate Maddie's gift, let's review the Sholarship Competition from two years ago. On the surface it seemed woefully unfair to even enter Maddie in this event. First, Maddie was the youngest dancer entered. Second, all of the entrants were fair to excellent dancers. Third, most of the other dancers had more years of training, and were more physically developed than Maddie. And fourth, the contest's routines were jazz numbers and Maddie's forte' is lyrical dance. At the start of the competition a choreographer demonstrated a jazz routine, and as groups of dancers performed it the judges eliminated the weaker contestants. In the contest Maddie just doesn't do just well, she beat EVERY ONE OF THE OLDER DANCERS! And how was she able to do that? Answer: Because she had a better dance memory than the others.

Now, as you watch a second time, compare the fluidity of Maddie's moves to her opponents. By the end of the routine she is a full two beats ahead of any of the others. And look at her face. She isn't struggling to remember her routine, as most of the other girls are. Maddie has the routine down so cold that she can just put on her '# MAddie Face, A.K.A. # Hollywood money face" and dance away.
Abby used Maddie over and over again because she had to. If she hadn't we viewers couldn't have delighted in all of the different routines we enjoyed each week. As you watch today's group dance again, watch how Abby weaves Maddie's "counter-point" routine in and out of the group routine to add depth to the dance.

yes, it is the same u-tube we used two weeks ago to study the topic, "# The Maddie face, A.K.A. # the Hollywood Money Face."
Who cares? And all the girls could remember a dance clearly. Kendall hasn’t even ever forgotten a dance where as Maddie has, but somehow it’s always Maddie that has the “superb memory” as if none of the other girls remember nearly every single number. And Nia learned a 2 minute long routine with only 17 minutes of Abby’s time and was able to go out and remember all of it. Sure Maddie remembered a 1 minute long dance with about 20 minutes of instruction time, but she isn’t the only one. The all have a pretty superb memory in comparison with nearly any other dancer not on the show.
Nya Marie I also think it’s important to note that ballerinas are top athletes that have to be healthy physically and mentally to do what they do . And theses girls where not getting any of that even from a young age No one did theses girls justice by mentally abusing them so while I think Maddie’s a great dancer . I think it’s also important to remember you can’t dance your best if your being abuse you can’t do anything the best in fact if your not feeling like it plus the risk with group dances. Especially when you have tension you have like on dance moms. With the girls not knowing if they can trust one another . Then yea your risking one dancer being better then others group dances are team work u gotta know your team plus everyone has off days to u just hope your on that day and go on with it. I think nia was confused cuz she did not her the music only reason she was late on her turns . I also think Maddie while good was actually not the best fit to be lead in this song I think chloe or kalini would have actually done better also
Nia is equal a fair Good dancer whom I would not discount it’s just she got lost in the back thanks to choreograph . But she started it and it was really well for being a children’s dance there not professionals but I think Maddie was good but not right for center stage I think chloe actually embodies this song with her looks and style it should have been her . Also Kendal has never forgot a dance ever Maddie has at least twice nia has never forgot either . Nor has McKenzie. I think there all good but don’t all have the same style so while your young I think it’s ok to do many different styles but once your teacher spots your style they should do you the service if telling you that what your best in and if u want to you should only do that style almost all of the Broadway shows and the American academy of ballet . Are a style Broadway is musical theater with some ballet for specific plays and songs . The academy is ballet I honestly think theses girls are way past the age where they should have been taken to do what they where best at cuz the point was to become a dancer right ? Well why waste your time dancing jazz which is not chloes strong suit? Or waste. Your time doing hip
Hop which is not Maddie but nias or contemporary which is clearly Maddie’s there all good but in different dance groups . But none of them ended up going pro . Which is funny cuz that’s why they where all there .

Kalanis intro was 10 times better and graceful than Maddie's ending. Kalani is a better all round dancer, her flexability, lines, positions, legs, turns, FEET, and tricks are way better than maddie

Kalani is a far better dancer than Maddie. Don’t confuse fame with talent. Kalani’s movements make the dance look so easy. I feel like Maddie is better with sharp movements. Kalani is so underrated🙄
It's all subjective. It's like singers. You can get a technically perfect singer, hits all the right notes, strong voice, brilliant. But maybe her voice lacks emotion, maybe that X factor is missing so to speak.Then you can get an average singer, technically not outstanding but can hold a tune. With the right song, maybe the personality that a lot of people warm too, maybe she's more entertaining, touches peoples hearts more, will end up more successful. It's like that with dancers, entertainers etc. Being the best technology doesn't, unfortunately, guarantee them success. It will be the person who people can relate to the most, who people warm too and find the most entertaining. I'm not saying that is the case here. The point I'm trying to make is when people keep on going on about somebody technically being the best dancer, they can be right. But we each take something different from each dancer which is why one girl will appeal to one person but leave another person cold. I believe each girl will appeal to somebody, each have their strengths and weaknesses.

KutieKimmy 6 I know gia has received a few awards for choreography, but I think what you're talking about many be because they have to create 3+ dances a week for JUST this team, it may get repetitive after a while
