I just bought my first Miata last Sat, a 2024 RF, also red, and just washed and waxed it this morning. I love it. I'm 6' tall so it's not easy to get into, but once in I'm quite comfortable with the steering wheel all the way up and back away from the seat. It handles like a dream too.
I have owned 3 manual transmission MX5’s dating back to 2016, at 71 years old, I still love to drive it aggressively and enjoy it immensely when the “backend steps out”. The Bose stereo’s are not worth much, have upgraded to a Kenwood, including speakers, much better at highway speeds with top down. Also added aftermarket heated seats for the spring and fall in Southern Ontario, enjoy your seat time, I enjoy your content🍷
I have loved this car since the first generation and I was applying for a sales position with the local Mazda dealer in 1989. This red is the sharpest color out there. Great video. The best car review people out there. Thanks for sharing!
Awesome road trip and great views of Victoria! Please do more videos with the Miata, California Pacific Coast Highway would be beautiful too but a really long road trip!
Love this episode. Mazda MX5 is a great car. We owned a 2016 and loved it. Only reason we don’t have it now is our grandkids didn’t fit! Love this format for your show. Please do more!
LOL. Just seems like yesterday when Andrea was learning to drive a stick and now she’s so confident! Zack you are a lucky man to have such a beautiful, bright and positive wife, and the bonus is she can drive a stick and knows about cars! Looks like a fun day. 👍
Great job! Enjoy! Your Mazda videos recently sold me on a different Mazda model. It has been a FANTASTIC vehicle. Now, I'm looking at one of these! Well done!
I had to sell my motorcycle due to some health issues. I did some searching and found a 2001 (yes, 23 years old!) MX-5 with 111,000 km on the dial in Stratford, ON. 3 prior owners, 1 of which owned it twice. I am having SO MUCH FUN. And I don't really mind the cost of the premium fuel…much😏 It’s a 6 speed manual and is a hoot to throw into the corners. Love your reviews, as always and they are as much fun as my Mazda.
I love this video! I'm a Canadian from Toronto who has lived in Los Angeles for the past 28 years and sometimes finds myself missing home. I remember the wonderful visits to my uncle's home in Victoria when I was a kid and the wonderful salmon fishing he would do with us on his small boat. Lastly, I just got myself a new red car in March and have been having fun with it too (not a Miata, but still fun). I guess I'm just feeling a little extra Canadian today and feeling the love for my new red car (named Lulu by the way). Thanks for all the great videos, I really appreciate watching two fellow Canadians create videos that are useful and entertaining for us to watch!
Victoria is home to my wife and I. We absolutely love living here as we get Canada’s best weather, all the amenities of a big city but still feel like we live in a small community. I don’t own a MX-5 but do own and drive it’s Italian sister a 2018 Russo (Red) Fiat 124 Spider in Lusso trim. If you researched this roadster you will see that it is a MX-5 dressed up for Italy. Very, very similar as it is 75% MX-5 and 25% Fiat. All the fun plus great handling and reliability of a Miata but with the Italian flair for styling. A great little car to tour around Vancouver Island, Lower Mainland and Puget Sound in. Very good gas mileage for a Roadster and the fun factor is through the roof. (Top down usually so no roof)
This fun video brightened my day! I’m about to get on a plane for Seattle where I lived and visited Vancouver a lot and have been to Victoria. Brings back great memories and the reason why motoring can be so rewarding.
You made me to want to travel to Vancouver and Victoria. My cousin once visited Victoria and said “Victoria is the most beautiful city in Canada”. Then I visited Vancouver and I said “Wow, if Vancouver is this beautiful… What about Victoria!!! From Ottawa, ON
Great car, great couple, great scenery. What's not to love? I have been to Vancouver several times, but regretfully have not made it over to the Island. Vancouver is sooo beautiful on a sunny day. My most favourite city in Canada ♥
The twisty road to Tofino/Ucluelet in an MX-5 would be sublime, but having owned a Miata and a BMW Z4, small roadsters are not great highway vehicles. It seems fun and romantic, but they are noisy and exhausting. JMO.
Bought a ND2 soft top 6 speed as a second car 7 months ago after refusing to consider one for years. What was I thinking? I can’t stay out of it now! ✌️
Oh yes, more road trips and sight seeing please :) I've drove to Tofino and Victoria twice. Once with my wife when we lived in Alberta, and then again with our 2 kids, drove over from Ontario, then went to Seattle and Mount Rushmore on the way back. So much to see.
My wife and I drove our 2022 Maita on a 5 week road-trip. Two airline carry-on bags fit perfectly in the trunk, which is deep and wide. Soft luggage and small backpacks are ideal. Almost no storage inside the car, no real glove-box, or door pockets, but the compromises are worthwhile as you take the roof off and head for the horizon.
Thank you for the quick review on the Miata. Never owned one, but always has been one of my favorites cars because of how affordable and fun to drive is. People often think you need the instant torque and power of a Tesla model S Plaid or the speed of a Porsche 911 GT RS. Both beautiful cars, but you can also enjoy a car that is way more affordable and mainstream. By the way, thank you for the video, thank you for the great content, and thank you for showing around those gorgeous places. As a person living in the U.S. I appreciate you guys sharing the places where you live and visit.
I live in Alberta, I’ve decided on the RF GS-P with sports package (brembo etc) , my thoughts doing the RF, were coupe targa looks , i can enjoy the ride for more seasons if needed, snows lots here, lol. Absolutely love these videos, can’t wait for my vehicle delivery.
My wife and I spent a week in Victoria for our honeymoon! Our 21st anniversary was yesterday! I'm 6'6" and want this Miata. I've owned 3 RX-7 and 2 RX-8 models. Andrea's comment gave me hope I can fit in one.
Thanks! Your visit to Victoria brings back fond memories of our only visit to Vancouver Island, where we arrived in Victoria from Port Angeles, WA and departed a week later from Nanaimo for a B&B in N. Vancouver to continue our road trip into BC and Alberta. As for the MX5, after having tested driven a Miata years ago that I found too small, I ended up leasing a Z3 that I regrettably turned in at lease end. Because I've owned two Fiat 124 Spiders, a new in the 70's and a used one in the 90's, I'm looking for a 2019 or 20 Fiat 124 Spider due to the Mazda family ties and because I prefer the classic look of the 'Fiata' vs the Miata. Living in SE PA, this would be strictly a warm weather car so I don't wish to by a new MX-5, as exceptionally enjoyable as Mr&Mrs Motormouth says it is. Would love to know your thoughts about a pre-owned 124 Spider vs an MX-5.
Greetings from Gatineau Quebec. Your road trip brought back found memories. I did the Vancouver to Victoria on the ferry. It was magnificent, especially coming back to Vancouver. Breath taking scenery. In my opinion, Vancouver is in the top 5 nicest cities in the world. You guys are so lucky.
Congrats on Ruby. My wife and I bought a white coloured 6Spd manual GSP with the Recaros in March but it is a 2023 model. We have been enjoying it around town. Love the sportiness of it and its simplicity. Lucky my wife knows how to drive standard because I dont think I would have bought an auto. Enjoy.
This is an exceptionally stylish and fun car, I have the gts convertible and it’s my daily driver, I would recommend anyone looking for an affordable sports car take a look. You won’t be sorry and will always have a smile.
I just purchased a ND3 Miata GT manual a month ago, my 2nd Miata, and it's been an absolute joy. I totally agree that the best thing about the Miata is that it's loads of fun at any speed. It's one of very few sports cars that you don't have to break the law to fully enjoy. I plan to keep this car forever, as a weekend toy and occasional commuter, and I'm glad I got a ND3 because I think it is the best Miata ever, and it's hard to imagine the next gen getting any better or being as good a value. That said, I do wish it had auto rev matching. Not adding that feature to the ND3 manual was a huge miss on Mazda's part.
Love my nd2 in red it’s so much fun to drive in the Rockies in Utah. If you ever make it back to SLC I can suggest a bunch of drives. Alpine loop, east canyon reservoir, pine canyon in PC, mirror lake highway past Kamas, and Provo canyon.
My exact spec, though I have a 2021. There are times when I wish for a back seat and some cargo room and I consider a GTI or a Golf R but then I know I would regret giving up the open air fun of the MX-5.
I just bought a brand new RF GT with the Terracotta Tan Nappa Leather interior. Brembo and Bilstein shocks. This is a blast to drive and gets 6.2 litres per 100km. I do have the wireless CarPlay as well. The RF is quieter than the soft top. Great car.
I got an ND 2022, this exact same color. Guess what? My wife called it Ruby 😊 Sorry to contradict your husband but THIS is the color to have. Cheers from a Canadian living in Luxembourg. Great channel btw 😉
I love Victoria and taking the Tsawassen ferry! And I just knew you two were headed to Oak Bay for a drive-it's such a lovely spot. Looks like such a fun trip in gorgeous little Ruby- don't think I could give her back at the end of summer..
Loved this, great to see some Canadian country side watching from Australia. I watched questions coffee and cars a week ago on a flight from Sydney Australia to Darwin Australia, a 3,000 kilometre 4.5 hour flight taking us from 13 degrees (winter) to 32 degrees, beautiful beaches but sharks salt water crocodiles and deadly jellyfish so it’s the motel pool for me.😂
I want to go back to Victoria. My wife and I took an Alaska cruise two years ago, with the final port being Victoria. We went to the Butchart Gardens and the Butterfly Gardens for our excursions. They were nice, but we never really got to experience Victoria. Our friends took a shuttle to the downtown area and went bar hopping. We should have done that instead.
I'm watching the new BH Cops 4 movie and reminded of the scenes of Eddie/Axel and his daughter in that red BMW convertible rolling in Beverly Hills. Awesome road trip you two!
Soul red is a great color, but I love the Deep Crystal Blue Mica/White Napa leather interior in my '21 MX-5 RF GT which appears was only available that year. It's a fun car and perfect as a daily driver.
I love small, convertible roadsters. We used to have a Triumph TR-6 back in the day, and more recently a BMW Z4. Similar size and height as the MX-5. One caution however. Every time we drove it, large pick-up trucks seemed to be cutting us off. Never happened in our other "normal" sized vehicle. It slowly dawned on us that it wasn't bad pick-up drivers; it was because they didn't know we were in their blind spot, and just changed lanes. The Z4 was too small and short to be seen by higher vehicles. We made a point of never staying in other vehicles blind spots from then on. Be careful out there!
Thanks so much for this episode, I have been to Victoria 4 times and wish I could go at least 4 more. Too old now, but you did well. in the short time you had to show the most beautiful part of a beautiful small city. I have a 2018 Fiat 125 spyder and know the thrill of driving a small sports car. Indescribable, but you came very close. Thanks again for you videos.
Was lucky enough to visit Vancouver Island, but we did not spend any time in Victoria:/, instead we stayed Nanaimo and Ucluelet. The drive over to Ucluelet is amazing, would have been better in an MX-5.
More than 30,700 Ford Mustangs are being recalled in response to a problem that could cause unintentional turning of their steering wheels. The automaker said in a June 28 recall report filed to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration that the Mustangs at risk of experiencing the unintentional steering wheel turning belonged to the 2022-2023 model years. The recalled vehicles were built between Sept. 15, 2022, and April 5, 2023.
I've got a 2016 Club, happy to see it's still pretty relevant compared to the new model. I've taken it all over the mountains in Colorado, and to Yellowstone. Absolutely perfect road trip car, the only way to road trip IMO. Enjoy! (Also, I was once to Victoria, we rented scooters and rode all over, very beautiful place!)
My favourite view of Active Pass is the 1 hour short hike up Mt. Galiano, just to the clearing at the top of the, just an amazing view of the water and the ferries going by.
would have loved to see what you packed / how you packed it. The miata invites the nice and sunny roadtrips, but the small storage capacity does limit it somewhat. always interesting to see how people manage to fit all of their stuff!
Really good video. We had our honeymoon in Vancouver and Victoria, 30 years ago this Fall. We loved it so much, our daughter’s middle name is “Victoria” named for the city (and queen). My next vehicle will be an MX-5, hopefully within the next couple of years. I really miss driving a manual car!
"Fun at any speed" best line to describe this car!
Absolutely
Like the '88 Fiero GT.
Awesome, congratulations!!
I love the road trip theme. You two are such a joy to watch. I enjoy hearing your two sometimes differing opinions on your reviews.

Really glad you enjoyed it.

That MX5 is gorgeous!! So glad Andrea got her favourite little car and in the Ruby color 🔥
I am from BC and just bought my Miata a week ago 😍 loving it
Thoroughly enjoyable ! A gorgeous car and road trip! Thank you! Enjoy more drives in the lovely Miata. Cheers, Tom

♥
A convertible is a perfect way to see nature at its finest and thank you for taking us along!
I love Vancouver Island, we have family there. Tofino is a magical place and would be a fun drive in that MX5.
The twisty road to Tofino/Ucluelet in an MX-5 would be sublime, but having owned a Miata and a BMW Z4, small roadsters are not great highway vehicles. It seems fun and romantic, but they are noisy and exhausting. JMO.
Yes, road to Tofino with all its curves would be a nice workout for the MX5
You sure sold me. I'm 6ft 2inchs and I am picking up one next week in the same Soul Red color. Best video of a Mazda Miata yet!
This is one of the best videos you have done. Thank you.
Lovely car, lovely trip. Thank you for doing this. Your tour of Victoria brought back fond memories.
Bought a ND2 soft top 6 speed as a second car 7 months ago after refusing to consider one for years. What was I thinking? I can’t stay out of it now! ✌️
I visited Victoria for the first time just two days ago. Butchart gardens was incredible.
Love the gardens, been there many times.

I really enjoyed the video, guys. I see mixing in some travel vlogs with the two of you as a great fit, you all are naturals.
One of the best summer or weekend cars on the planet.
The glossy red color is beautiful, sort of like a lipstick color.
Welcome to the Island. I'm an Alberta transplant and have lived on the Island for 32+ years and it's a great place to own a convertible.
Great job as always you two, Keep up The great work as Always!
Very nice trip, thank you for sharing, love from France !
I was concerned about storage in a Miata and asked a bud about that. He said that he and his wife have taken their Miata camping. That sold me.
My wife and I drove our 2022 Maita on a 5 week road-trip. Two airline carry-on bags fit perfectly in the trunk, which is deep and wide. Soft luggage and small backpacks are ideal.

@@theretoocs Wow! I figured a weekender would be no problem but that's seriously impressive. I may have to rethink my road trip strategy...
Great video, great looking car! Good ol' Oak Bay...where i grew up. Beautiful place to visit this time of year.
Thanks for another great review!!
Please do more road trips and show us more scenery , it was great!!! 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Thank you for the quick review on the Miata. Never owned one, but always has been one of my favorites cars because of how affordable and fun to drive is. Hey guys,
Another stellar video. Love it! Great seeing you both at YVR, Domestic terminal. Huge fan, Zack and Andrea. Have a fantastic weekend
Thank you so much! It was great seeing you as well.
One of your best videos , travel video and a auto review two for one! Fans of yours for years!
I live in the Seattle area and Victoria is such a beautiful place. A great place for a weekend getaway
It really is a beautiful spot.
Watching your channel from NYC for years. Thank you for the road trip. I would like you to visit more beautiful places this summer!
My wife and I spent a week in Victoria for our honeymoon! Our 21st anniversary was yesterday! I'm 6'6" and want this Miata. I've owned 3 RX-7 and 2 RX-8 models. Andrea's comment gave me hope I can fit in one.
Good luck. It's tight for me at just over 6'1". Try the previous generation, NC. They're roomier.
What a beautiful 🚗 and great scenery and weather for a review 🎉
I made that trip in 1996 in a convertible Mustang. Such a great memory.
Whoever asks for more power for this car doesn't understand the purpose of it.
I agree. Now tell that to everyone who asks for a turbo GR86
Exactly!!
Do you often claim to know far more than you possibly can know?
@. 👆🏼 who knows but it’s obvious you’re a troll
I have a 2024 club. I want more power 😂 but it’s fun regardless

I did not know Gatineau was a place. Miss @normmcdonald
Enjoy.
Andrea driving the manual transmission like a pro now. Never been to Canada but BC territory looks like a great place to visit.
I had an Aunt and Uncle who lived in Oak Bay, three blocks from the ocean. Great place to hang out!
Loved the road trip. Butchart Gardens is beautiful.
I LOVE Victoria been only there once but what a VIBE that city has!
I loved this video, congratulations. Like I was getting on the ride with you. Beautiful car. Enjoyable scenery.
Some quality microphones and audio editing. Nice work!
My exact spec, though I have a 2021. There are times when I wish for a back seat and some cargo room and I consider a GTI or a Golf R but then I know I would regret giving up the open air fun of the MX-5.

I got an ND 2022, this exact same color. Guess what? My wife called it Ruby 😊 Sorry to contradict your husband but THIS is the color to have. Cheers from a Canadian living in Luxembourg. Great channel btw 😉
Long live Soul Red Metallic!
I love road trips
Lady in red hot dress in a red hot MX5. Zack must be holding on for dear life.
the dress is far from flattering
Loved it. Need more of BC's natural beauty in your videos.
I love the short vacation. Thanks. What grand structures. Love the car as well.
Beautiful video! Thanks for sharing Andrea! 👍🏻👍🏻☕️☕️
Thank you very much!
@@andreaspencer9813 You are a very welcome Andrea! ☕️☕️

Love your videos and what a great road trip. Please keep up the great work!
Thank you so much!
Such a beautiful car.
Miata is always the answer! That's proven !
But Andrea in red, thats another level of beauty!!
I absolutely love mine❗️
And the video is awesome….thank you.
The editor of this video does a great job, thank you guys for wonderful scenery❤

My favourite view of Active Pass is the 1 hour short hike up Mt. Galiano, just to the clearing at the top of the, just an amazing view of the water and the ferries going by.
The color is beautiful. I love my 1995 M-Edition!
Wonderful road trip and a perfect car for it👍👍
Awesome video! Always great seeing more of the scenic Canadians places.
Sea to Sky highway next? 😉
Yes we are going to go to Whistler. My old stomping grounds.😊
I had a 1990 and loved driving thru Victoria at night with the top down.
Keep doing this type of videos
would have loved to see what you packed / how you packed it. The miata invites the nice and sunny roadtrips, but the small storage capacity does limit it somewhat. always interesting to see how people manage to fit all of their stuff!
I really appreciate this Roadster-Travel type of video
We have been to Victoria on trip from Seattle to Vancouver in winter😂. It’s cold but still enjoy the place!
Being there me and my wife 1972 and the kids 1978 and 1988 nice place (Ty Ron I Like Mazda MX - 5 Miata nice
I love this video! I need to get to Canada someday!
