I’m loving seeing the culture in Korea!
I noticed they cut meat with scissors and how the school lunches plate serviced in just pots on a table.
Please continue to share the cultural side of Korea! I’ve never been able there before :-)

Email schools in Korea, see if they pay for your apartment and plane ride, private schools are a very great choice. (Schools really want English teachers so it won’t be hard)To enter you have to graduate and have a degree in anything as long as you have one, then verify it by the fbi, send it to your chosen school. You don’t need to speak Korean because most of the time there is another teacher there.

Adrienne! If you haven’t already, you should definitely try downloading coupang in the App Store! I’m not sure if they have english option but they deliver groceries and you can literally find anything! If you’re feeling a lil homesick you can also find American food! Also Iherb! 😊

You're very lucky indeed to have a happy, smooth experience especially in terms of your job and work environment.
It seems like the majority of people end up having a very rough time at their job for one reason or another. It's insanely common for Korean staff to be petty and gossipy and create drama around native teachers.
In my case I've been teaching here 3 years and so far every year has been miserable and stress-ridden due entirely to not the job itself but the Korean colleagues who, for whatever reason, just seem to hate me no matter what I do. I'm fluent in korean, respectful, professional, and I feel like I am decent enough at my job so I kind of feel like I can't win and this has been the experience of most of my friends teaching here as well. The only reason I'm still doing it is because my husband is korean and I've got no other options as of right now lol.
I'm so envious to see you with korean friends and seeming to have a great experience at your job. I hope I can get that experience at some point.

I’ve looked into these programs and the requirements to teach English are subpar, it seems as though anyone with a bachelor’s degree can apply. It’s making me curious as to why their standards are not higher. I have a BA and work history in education, so it’s making me question these programs. What is the process in evaluating the progress of the students?

im from a country in europe and we have really good educated english teachers but at the end of the day the most english we learn is just by talking to a "native speaker". if youve ever learned another language youll understand
