    God blesses me with amazing oppertuinities. All of my horses end up with me because they were either not wanted, too dangerous to ride, going to the meat worx, or people have said they are useless and will never get anywhere. Theres something in them that speaks to me. Its normally the really naughty ones that rear and buck and are hard to handle on the ground that I like and do the best with. They have attitude- you just have to understand them.

    The horses must love the freedom they feel!

  • @FreeRidingAlyciaBurton
    @FreeRidingAlyciaBurton  12 лет назад +16

    They really chill out after coming here, and put all that naughty energy into positive energy. Often they are so grateful they will do anything for you. Horses dont create the problem- its people that create problems for them.
    Gold Rush had only had a few weeks ridden work in his life until I got him as a 7 yr old off a sheep station. I was given him to sell on for the owners and decided to buy him after riding him for 1 week.That was less then 2 years ago

      Hey....A cowboy buys a horse from the town pastor. The pastor explains, “To make the horse go, you gotta yell, ‘Thank God!’ And to make it stop, yell, ‘Hallelujah.’”
      The cowboy rides away. He rides all day and starts to nod off in the saddle when he notices he is about to ride straight over a cliff. Searching his memory, he yells to the horse, “Hallelujah! Hallelujah!” The horse grinds to a stop just at the edge of the cliff. The cowboy wipes the sweat off his forehead.
      “Phew!” the cowboy sighs. “Thank God!”

    You have such an amazing bond with your horse. I've tried bareback and prefer it to riding with a saddle (that doesn't mean I'm good at it though). I believe anyone could get on a horse and throw themselves over some jumps but it takes real trust with your horse to do it bareback and without a bridle. Your horse looks like he trusts you a lot too. Thank you you've really inspired me.

    I miss riding so much! I trained a couple of horses and felt very safe and secure riding bareback and just a halter and lead rope. They took their cues with leg pressure, voice command, slight tug on the rope. So much fun. But it has been 20 years since I have ridden and your videos remind me of thos past years. Thankyou so much.

    >.>...... I'm so jealous... I've never had luck with horses. The few times I've gotten on one I felt like they were going to rear, bite me, or try to throw me off, I don't trust them, which I happen to feel bad about because I love horses. Sometimes I wonder if I'm good with animals or not, horses and animals in general have this mystique, some esoteric nature that I wish I could somehow connect with, but sometimes I feel like I suck at it completely... A little bit depressing since I am planning a life in the countryside with many animals included, haha I guess I need some advice from an expert in this. It might sound off topic though, considering the video I guess.

    • @Drawcandy
      @Drawcandy 10 лет назад +3

      There's no 'luck' with horses, no special nature you have to connect with, you just have to understand natural horsemanship and know what you're doing.

      You must have complete trust and not show the horse that your afraid they can feel it through the saddle and by the way you talk they will take advantage of you but if you speak calmly they will trust you again it's all about horsemanship.

  • @MielieMouse
    @MielieMouse 10 лет назад +3

    What if your horse spooks and doesn't stop?? Because you don't have a bridle so you have less control, even if you do control with your body sometimes the horses get frights

    • @rachaelferguson3882
      @rachaelferguson3882 10 лет назад +16

      i agree with you in principle, but must remind you that if a horse REALLY wants to do something,it will always be stronger than us and no amount of tack or gadgets will stop it.

    • @Brooke.805
      @Brooke.805 10 лет назад +17

      If you need a steal bar shoved into your horses mouth to control him then your doing it wrong

    • @Drawcandy
      @Drawcandy 10 лет назад

      Not necessarily. You can train a horse to stop completely when you lean back, they get so used to it it permanently gets hammered into their brain, they have almost no choice but to stop.

    Beautiful display of oneness with rider and horse. I trust my horse and my horse trusts me. No horse is completely bomb proof, but if it trusts the owner/rider they are much less likely to react dramatically. There is never a guarantee that nothing will ever happen as in anything we may do in life. The beauty of riding is knowing the amazing power the horse has and yet graceful & gentle at the same time. How I would love to go ride on a beach somewhere.

    I began free riding 20+ yrs ago on my 1st Arabian mare. My mom bred & trained, but she was my own at 6yo. The mare did anything as a 3yo to get me off, but by 11 I was free riding her in open fields. We did exhibitions with ten gates, halts, roll backs, serpentine, figure 8's, jumping & +. She trusted me completely. I became a certified instructor & started all 1st riders on her. Your horse has a massive hand gallop & they're thoroughly enjoying their free beach ride!

    Great video. When I was a kid I rode tackless, no neck lead or halter almost every time I rode with my friends (after ruining a saddle from pond crossing and getting my butt whipped by my dad). Riding tackless solo was another story unless it was a well known trail for the horse. I'm much older now but I still remember and miss the thrill of the ride back home with no tack at all, hanging on for dear life as she ran faster than she ever would with a bridle on. Thanks for the video,

    You are so lucky to own such an amazing horse. I've been begging my mom for years to let me get a horse, even after 7 years of riding, and every time I get a no. I'd love to have my own horse and grow a bond like you and CG have. You two are absolutely amazing. :)

    wow, you really inspire me. I rode bareback once, i loved it. I think it is much nicer and really helps you to bond with your horse by riding bareback and I would really love to try galloping. It is my dream to have a horse, they are the most magnificent creatures ever. I love how you and Goldrush are such good friends. You are incredible, I really admire you. You are amazing! Thanks!
