Loved it
I love watching Justine cook and bake! She’s amazing!
I always watch Justine first before I watch Frontier Patriot🧹🕯
too bad, Justine has all the work and usually gets only a fraction of the exploits… ALWAYS watch both videos back to back!
Yayyyyyy Congratulations! 😉 🎂🥂 🍾 💒 💍 📸
Justine: *takes a bite of pie* “I wanna give a shoutout to GOD…”
That’s how you know the pie is good😂
Amen!
And she set down the fork, that’s serious 😂🙌🏼
That killed me
i got babtized last sunday in the little church i grew up going too , yes thank god for wild food and you
Yes!
Eaten in 5 seconds. Just kidding, Ron! When I was 15, my father was out of work and out of money. He had us kids go pick wild black berries on a hill next to the highway (or maybe it was the Interstate). He cooked a lot. HE BAKED A HUGE PIE. WE LIVED OFF OF IT FOR SEVERAL DAYS. Grandmother saved the day, sending some cash. Daddy sold the house and we moved to Florida. It has been over 50 years, but I still remember how good that cobbler was. I thought that I could eat that 3 times a day for the rest of my life. I'll bet that your wedding will be so beautiful, celebrated outside or inside. I know that it will be a very emmotional ceremony. I am visualizing an 1800's or early 1900's wedding dress and veil. I am about to cry already. ( I cry at weddings.)You don't have to share your wedding day with anyone but I would LOVE to watch you get married over ther net. I am feeling a bit overwhelmed at the thought of it all. Wonderful news to be told, when we hear your wedding date. Love to you both. Please have some of that pie, for me. From Mr. and Mrs. Ace X, in Florida.
How about Ste Gen livestream the wedding on their channel since Ron and Justine are an integral part of the Ste Gen community? Think of the tourism this would boost and how we long distance fans could be a part of their special day!!
My mom has similar stories of her childhood!
Can yall livestream or put a video up
Yes please, do set up someway for us to watch your wedding! And easy way to make it seen, for us elderly folk! We all adore you two!
Will you post a recording of your wedding? ❤
It's very exciting to hear that you have set a wedding date...would love to come...we'll see...looking forward to some house videos...sunscreen Ron 😊
I just love you guys I don’t comment a lot because I just enjoy watching you. You’re such a special couple but I was kind of hurt when you said that people the only comment I’m more special to you because I believe everybody is special and I love you guys and I want you on every episode, I love to hear you talk about things and then do your interactions with each other. I wish you all the very best and I love you.
I hope you can live stream the wedding. I watched a wedding livestreamed from Virginia and it was the next best thing to being there.
Love the historical facts! FYI, Jesse James was born in Clay County MO, died in St. Joseph MO, and he is buried in Kearney MO.
Happy day!!!!! I wish I could come to ur beautiful wedding! Congrats to u guys.....May God richly bless ur union🎉
Jesse James was born and raised in the Kearney, Mo area I believe. It is in Western He was killed in St. Joseph, close by. We live in Blue Springs, Mo, technically our house sits in Independence, Mo. Jesse James and the Younger gang, held up a train about a mile from our house close to the Little Blue River, in Independence. It’s amazing the history that is all around us. Congratulations on your wedding announcement! I am new to your channel, as of last week. Love it!
Congratulations to both of you for setting a date for the wedding
First of all, Congratulations on setting your Wedding date!!! Second, Justine I am humbled and so filled with Joy and Pride in you giving a Shout out to GOD - GOD Bless you!!!! I'm a day late to watch my favorite you tube, goodness how I missed your show! Luv Wednesday, your show is my guilty pleasure!
When I was a kid we had a mile long road with stone walls lined with raspberries/blackberries....used to eat our way up the road! Sadly now a development and they are gone.....
The 11th is a great day to get married! David and I got married on December 11th. Lucky number! 💍
Yaaay!! CONGRATULATIONS!!! I've been a very quiet viewer...but...love you guys!!!
Congratulations on setting a date! You two are just too cute!
Congratulations!! We want to be there on may 11th!!!❤
Congratulations. I only just discovered your RUclips videos. I love them and have been kind of binge watching them.
Glad you like them!
Congratulations on setting the date!💜💜💜
The LOOK on Justine's face after Ron took that second pie slice was the look of being purely impressed. Honestly wish I had the stomach room to eat that much pie in one sitting.
I tell all the children I'm around to learn about our own community history. They love learning about, and than want to learn more about our state.
Congratulations!
Congratulations on settling on the date for your wedding! That’s very exciting!
Congrats on the wedding date! Hopefully you will put some footage of it on RUclips when the time comes! 💍🥂
Omg I am marrying may the 4th! Congrats to you!
Congratulations on your upcoming nuptials lovely couple! Ron, please do not commit a faux pa by not asking the lovely Justine if she wants to also eat the whole pie?
Justine, perhaps you can have a reception near by or street party or in a in a field. Not everyone has to be at the wedding to celebrate. Cee from the little haunted cottage in ireland 💚💚💚🍀🍀🍀
GRATZ you two,,,very happy for you
well up north here in nh we are still waiting for the fain to go away so the backberries can get ripe , then im gonna make one , love the chew and chat , thanks ,, brenda
I dearly wish I could attend your wedding, but I suspect it won’t come together for me. It’s a long trek from Sydney to Ste. Genevieve. If I can make it happen, I will. But either way, I can’t wait to celebrate your wedding❣️ Love from Australia xoxo
Congrats in picking the date for your wedding will you be filming it for those of us who can not.go. I would not be able to go but I would love to see it
congratulations to you both i really love you show very much ❤❤❤❤
and just to let you i was two in a violence, relationship not good but i have been married now to a very nice man for 28 years
Oh my, I actually laughed out loud at your reaction to Ron’s tin foil outfit comment! LOL!😂
😁
Loved this! ❤
Can you share your Amazon wishlist for your wedding?
Have you ever made elderberry blossom wine? My grandfather on my mother's side had a recipe in a little copy book in his attic. My grandmother threw it out by mistake in one of her clean up campaigns. Surprising that the marriage survived. Have you ever run across a recipe?
Congratulations on your wedding date, Justine and Ron! ❤ I love blackberries. I love elderberries. They are great to help your immune system for the cold and flu season. P.S. My husband would have eaten the whole pie as well. Yes, he's done that. 😂 🇨🇦
Elder berry gummy vitamins are so yummy 😋
Hmmm, probably the only exception would be watermelons. Original wild watermelons from 200-300 years ago were tiny, and were mostly white inside with tiny red sections with seeds. That is one of the only cases where the alterations were a vast improvement to the original fruit from nature, IMO.
Besides that, I agree we shouldn't be breeding larger & flavorless fruits.
Are we still going to be able to have Pioneer Days? Ron! This is your wicked stepmother! Quit talking with your mouth full, lol!
yes Kandye Pioneer Days is the first weekend right?
@@frontierpatriot Yes, I just didn't know if that would put too much pressure on you guys trying to get ready for wedding.
Ron eating the whole pie? Yes, it just feels right! Hahaha! 😁
Congratulations on the announcement of your wedding day! 🎊 Ron & Justine, V XI MMXXIV 🎊
isn't gluttony a sin?
It’s Wednesday night my favourite time to watch your videos ❤
"Jesse Woodson James was born on September 5, 1847, in Clay County, Missouri, near the site of present-day Kearney." ~Wikipedia
how do you pit the elderberries
my husband loves berrie pie and he likes it hot with vanilla ice-cream
I don't like having to mow around them and I don't like the purple splatter from the birds on my truck. Other than that......
I'm a crust kidda gal too
What date in May Justine
Justine and Ron, I know I’m old enough to be your mother but I just wanted to say how proud I am of the two of you for how far you’ve come and all the work that you do to give pleasure to those of us watching your channels!
For almost a year now I’ve been very ill and unable to work as a nurse anymore and with all the bad news going on in the world finding your channels has made being home alone without anyone with me so much more tolerable. For that I want to thank the both of you.
I wish that I was able to come to your wedding but I live in New Jersey and the distance is just too far, but I wish the both of you all the best in your new journey together! God‘s blessings and health and happiness!
I’ll be watching every week and know that you are greatly appreciated! May God bless you both now and in the years ahead! 👍🙏🇺🇸.
I hooe that you get better. So sorry that you are alone. I was borne in Sussex county,NJ. Lived there till I was 14. I miss it. Real trees and grass, blackberries, walnuts, elderberry, apples, cherries, cantalope, a garden. Yeah.
What wonderful news🎉❤😊I know I can't come to your wedding, but maybe you can have someone film your big day. I know God has blessed you with each other. Who could ask for anything more? Love you guys❤
You need some ice cream with it!
Ron eating the entire pie is like that scene in Matilda where Trunchbull makes Bruce eat the chocolate cake lol. Congratulations on setting a wedding date! 🎉
I feel like blackberries are really underrated… They can be sweet like blueberries, tart like raspberries or cherries, they don't have any seeds that get caught in your teeth, and they're almost always really juicy when I get them! They're just the best for pies and smoothies! 😃
You're right they don't have any small seeds that get stuck in your teeth. As incredible as raspberries are that is their biggest drawback
@@EarlyAmerican Oh, I know! Raspberries are my favorite fruit (along with cherries and kiwis), but the seeds are the one thing I just LOATHE about them! I will say though, the seeds aren't as much of a nuisance if you use them in a pie or in fruit preserves (at least in my experiences.) 😋
Respectfully, blackberries do have seeds.
Ron is eating that entire pie mark my words!
That's probably why Justine eats a piece before they do the Chew & Chat. 😂
A bit hard to watch
Absolutely!
@@filthypeasant834 bleh, you ruined my vision
He doesn't eat it, he makes it disappear.
Your new wedding plans sound ideal! It’s supposed to be a beautiful memory and a lot of fun 😊 simple is way better and a cap on guests is certainly understandable. Looking forward to seeing your home build video! Have a blessed week and see ya next time 👋🇺🇸👋🇺🇸😊🇺🇸❤🇺🇸
Yes! Thank you!
The blackberry pie looks delicious.
Congratulations on your wedding announcement on May 11, 2024. The venue you chose is beautiful.
Thank you, Ron for the history facts.
Interesting to hear about Astor being the first millionaire.
That lady lived for 115 years.
The invention of the microwave.
If I had to bet, I'd say Ron will have at least 2 helpings of that Blackberry Pie! 😊We'll see if I'm right!
Great pie!
I hope you all are able to film your wedding the important parts and share with this community🤗❤
The microwave oven was invented accidentally when a test for a magnetron melted an engineer's snack in 1946. Raytheon engineer Percy Spencer is the person who accidentally invented the microwave. Congratulations on setting your wedding date. I have a suggestion: You may want to consider filming your wedding and placing the video on your channel so that many people, who won't be able to physically attend, can still "attend" your special day from home. They then can sign your Comments Guest Book upon seeing the video.
Ron, you know what would be good with that pie? Blackberry homemade ice cream. Yum! I had some for the 4th of July and it was good. So, sweettalk your favorite woman to make another pie and make some ice cream. :D
Great idea!
I love blackberries. I used to pick them wild in new jersey. I do so here in Pennsylvania. I make a french cobbler with them. It is so good. I cannot wait to watch after work. It makes my night. ❤ love you both. Have a great night everyone.
Thank you Cheryl 😀
Love blackberry pie! Can't wait yo see you make it on Early American and then watch Ron eat it on this channel. Love this couple . They are the best!❤❤
Ron did it, he finished the pie. Love Justine’s reaction when she sees the last piece of pie being brought to Ron’s plate. To funny you guys. Always enjoy your chew and chat and of course watching Justine cook the food too. God bless you both.
Hahaha. Ron's a total pie guy!
You both make the cutest couple! As I'm in the public history field myself and a recipe recreator, this channel hits the spot!
You are right on target about the overly large supermarket blackberries being lackluster in taste. I find the same to be true with the behemoth sized strawberries that are common now. They are big, but generally flavorless. The flavor of a tiny wild strawberry will knock your socks off. Your wedding will be an incredible experience. I wish my husband and I could come. If we don't make it, you know we will be there in our hearts as we uplift you both in our prayers. God bless you both!
My ancestor Toussaint Charbonneau was married and fathered, Jean-Baptiste "pompy" with Sacajawe with whom she was pregnant with during the journey 🥰🥰
There actually quite good (blackberry's) if they are allowed to ripen naturally. they pick them early and use gas to force them to ripen.
Jesse James was born in Kearney Mo. Vintage microwave ovens only leaked or might leak now because of the rubber gaskets around the door.
Your pie looked delicious. Congratulations on your upcoming wedding. If you have an aloe vera plant cut it open and rub on your sunburn it will help.
I can't wait to hear about the wedding plans, WOO HOO!!!
@@filthypeasant834 Filthy it's in May 2024 where are my $10
@@EarlyAmericanAre you having a period dress specially made?
Nothing better after Bible study than watching Early American and then the Frontier Patriot chew & chat! Congrats on having a wedding date & location. Have a blessed week, Justine & Ron! xoxo
4:44 Aww that is so sweet and humble of you Justine to give a Shout out to GOD for all the wonderful things He placed on our planet home for us to enjoy I thank you for that ❤. Also, I laughed so hard at 15:10 Ron giving the fake farting shot at Justine and she goes *drops dead* on sight. 🤣 And congratulations on your wedding announcement guys that is so excited!! if I lived closer by, I would definitely go dressing up like in the 18 centuries, like we do for Renaissance festivals. 💍
My 7 year old son requests Justine to make a huckleberry pie
Thank you for the great videos. I love blackberries and grow several kinds!
Did you know that the first modern blackberry cultivar was developed right here in America!? It was developed in California in 1880 by James Harvey Logan.
Store-bought blackberries are often bitter because they are picked before they are ripe. This is done so that they can be shipped and stored without spoiling. Out-of-season blackberries are also often bitter, as they are typically grown in Mexico where the climate is warmer.
If you want to experience the sweetest blackberries, you should grow your own. Pick them when they are ripe on the cane. The longer they stay on the cane, the sweeter they will be. Local growers are also a good option, as they will have blackberries that are in season and ripe for picking.
Congratulations on your wedding date! I wish you all the best in your marriage.
I’m really hoping that Ron ain’t a diabetic 😂
I love ❤your kitchen- dining area!😊 I love ❤️ it when you use real 🕯🕯 candles!❤
Sooooooo good to see your it gives me joy and hope for the USA 🇺🇸 ❤🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
Stay REAL & natural Justine! I ❤ your authenticity..... 🥰👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 lets keep praying for the USA🇺🇸🕊💝

The irony of me taking my dew berries and making some jam and syrup on the same day you guys put out this video . Btw i live in a 1717 home and have it open to the public id love to work with you guys if youre ever in Massachusetts
Wow 1717 that is awesome! Thankyou we'll be up that way one day!
Jesse Woodson James was born in Kearney, Missouri on September 5, 1847. His father, the Rev. Robert James, was a Baptist minister who helped found William Jewell College in Liberty, Missouri. I googled this information. This is interesting - His father was a minister.......
May 24th 1969, I got married to my first wife. That union ended in1990 when she got PG by the neighbor. Good luck on your future together.
I grew up in NW Washington. We had amazing GIANT blackberries on the farm, but my mother chose to forge into the thicket to find the wild, tiny berries. I recall they had a lot of seeds, which my mother strained out (somehow). Yumm, yum, good memories. LOVE your show.
I want that pie. My mouth is actually watering just sitting here looking at it. I LOVE blackberry! I even drink blackberry flavored carbonated water! Oh, and my wedding was on May 17th (1986). It was supposed to rain that day, but someone upstairs was looking out for us, and it ended up sunny and warm!
Oh man this would be an amazing experience!!! I'm in eastern Canada or I would love to come!!! Congrats on picking your date!
We just got married last October 28 '22, we brought the outside inside with pinecones, leaves and pumpkins. We even had an imitation bonfire and gave out Halloween treat bags :)
maybe someone will video your wedding and you can share with us who just can't make it. I would love to see it but I would not have the monies to make the trip from SW Ohio at my age. (then I'd be 82). Love watching your videos and anxious to see how the house is coming along, etc. Just an idea.....Love - Blackberry pies and jams are yummy. The size of the modern day blackberries remind me of mulberries from when I was a child. They were tasteless back then - blackberries have always had a good flavor just like raspberries. Til later - take care....Congratulations!!!!
🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸💔💔💔🌥⛅️🌤🕊
GOD BLESS YOU RON & JUSTINE!!! 💝💝
May 11 is my youngest’s birthdate. I wish I could go to your wedding, but hopefully in a year or two I can make it up to St. Genevieve. Also, elderberry tonic with a good gin and a drop or two of Angostura bitters, so yummy.
Wild blackberries were the bane of my existence in Georgia. Them, and passion flowers, were all the time trying to take over my field! Lol! We had one section that we allowed to grow because my daughter actually loved picking them, very strange. Wild muscadine grapes are also so much better picked wild! We foraged for those every year for jellies, so much better than bought from the store!
Congratulations on your wedding! I won’t horn in on your friends and family, but if you need a cleanup crew let me know and I can come and help clean after the wedding. That at least, should be something that you don’t have to worry about. For quite a few years I worked as a ministry assistant in a majorly huge church. Part of my job was as wedding liaison, so I am very familiar with wedding stresses!
Springfield, MO native here, not sure someone hasn't already answered, but Wild Bill Hickock shot Tutt from across the square over a pocket watch. Hickock lost it to Tutt and warned him not to wear it in public until he could win it back. Tutt didn't oblige and was shot from a distance of 75 yards, with a pistol. There are markers on the square, embedded in the street where they shot from.
Well I certainly don’t comment every week but I’ve been watching since the beginning and I watch and like every video on both channels. I thought that you were perfect for each the first time I ever heard you speak of him. So excited for you both. I’m handwriting a recipe for you now look for it in the post. Much Love from Houston, TX
New to the channel, but CONGRATULATIONS! I'll be making your pie tonight
I want to rsvp to your wedding. Please. Me and my 16 year old son from Nevada. We will definitely make the drive to see your beautiful wedding. We will also stay and help clean up. Promise
I’m so happy for you both. I’ve been watching since you both were up in Illinois and followed you to Missouri. ❤️
I think it’s great how you both are so into 18th century living. I’m a blacksmith who loves the 18th century and dress the part at festivals, and I try to use tools and techniques from that time. How did y’all find each other with you both loving that lifestyle? I’m hoping to find a woman who is willing to share a similar lifestyle with me
I'd fight 3 goats and a squirrel over a good blackberry pie! And yes, it's best cold but I like it any way.🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
I will definitely be at your wedding so please count on me! I plan to book Kandye's cabin for my stay. So thrilled for you both !! 💖😁 I'll help you clean up after the day.
Please come Kerri we'd love to have you be here!
Yes! Shout out to Our Almighty God for all He created!! Edibles and medicinal!
You have 1K viewers, be careful how many wedding crashers show up. Get security 😊
I don't always make a comment, However I have watched every single video you have ever made. I started way back when you At at the Stevenson's house. Have loved every One of them.
Love black berry pie. Congrats on setting a date. As much as I would enjoy meeting you guys I just do not think it possible to get out there for the wedding. It has been a number of years since I did living history and been to a colonial wedding. Best of wishes to you both.
Congratulations on getting your date set! Could you possibly video the wedding for us who can’t come?
