I haven’t watched any of your plane videos yet, as I’m primarily a drone pilot so I usually watch your drone videos, but I saw this come across and finally decided to watch one of your fixed wing videos. I’ve always like the planes but it has been a long time so it was great to see this and took me back. Well done as always.
I love my Super EZ. I have the BNF version, so put my own receiver in there and use my Deviation TX. Not used the pontoons yet, but it is so easy to fly and responsive. Aerobatics are easy with this one, inverted flight, knife edge, split S, etc. I use 2200mah 3S Gensace batteries and I get 5-6 mins flight time, but I hammer it! If you are flying nice and easy the 2200 will give you easily 15 mins. I push the 2200 all the way back and it balances perfect. Glad you and Steve enjoyed it.
I have the first version that came out of the EZ Trainer. It's one of the best trainers i have tried. If you want a GREAT trainer to learn to fly, this is a winner! This was a super review of the EZ V4!
I bought the Super Easy V4 last year and took out the stabilisation. It flies great! A had flown some 3d printed airplanes (yes... I know...) But this FMS is really good! The old timers at the local club were super impressed! Had one of them trim it (not much trim needed) and land it. Planning to FPV it this year. 2200mah 3s wil last about 16 minutes easy.
This plane is an excellent choice for new(ish) pilots and Old Dodderers! It is not a Sport Plane but can be thrown around a bit in Manual mode. The Stabilizer works very well with the only disadvantage being that it doesn't allow the use of flapperons. The plane would benefit from flaps as it glides VERY long on landing with not much breeze. The wing clip-locks are the weakest point of the plane but are easily reconstituted with the normal rubber band system. The spinner also sometimes causes trouble but is easily left off. A full run down on that RTF included radio would have been appreciated. What does the extra toggle switch do and what is the stock protocol used? On a generic receiver and a Multi Radio it is better with Rates/Expo/Etc configured but any way you try it, it is a lovely plane. (Especially at the PNP with stabilizer and floats included landed price of about US$135 that we scored ours in a sale some time back. 😉)
FYI- If you have not flown a RC plane yet, fly one! I did as a kid, but the planes today are no comparison. I fly mostly FPV, but taking off the goggles and flying line of sight is a whole new experience. It is quite and peaceful, and you can fly pretty much anywhere and everyone loves them. Very relaxing.
A friend of mine flew his NEW EZ plane 2 days ago for its' Maiden. Take off was good but a few seconds later...turning hard left into a very tall tree, snapped some branches and thundered into a hard baseball field. It was mangled significantly...took off the front end.
I own this plane also and i highly reccomend it as its a beautful plane to look at and fly...havent used the floats on it as yet..but cant wait to try it on the water.
It is probably "discontinued" because anything that is RTF manufactured after 16 September 2022 must have Standard Remote ID if sold in the USA. I guess they decided that it was easier just to stop making this excellent model than to add the cost and complexity of SRID.
You could be right. FMS is a company that I have see list models as DISCOUNTINUED, and then come out with a new version of the same model, so maybe there will be a version 5.
This is my favorite plane to fly out of all planes, including nitro powered, wich I started flying, I went to foamy electric, brushless, with lithium battery, way better and fun to fly.
Hey Steve, how’s everything my friend great video by the way.. If I remove this 20 amp ESC and put a 40 amp ESC would I’d be able to run a 4S battery and any damage to the motor or anything else ?? Thanks Steve .. Mark
That should work fine. Most brushless motors can handle the extra voltage. You’ll know if all is well by just feeling the temperature of the motor after flight. If hot, then it won’t last long.
Hey, Capt! Greeting from Sunny Southern California. After each video of yours that I watch gets me a step closer to purchasing my first RTF ever, thank you for all of the detailed information you provide. The SUPER EZ looks great! Would you recommend the SUPER EZ RTF over the AEROSCOUT RTF? Cheers!
@@CAPTAINDRONE798 Thanks for the reply! The selling point for me on the AeroScout was actually the larger tires, being a novice I feel like they would really help with the rougher landings but all that comes with repetition. The foam fuselage seems like it’ll give after hundreds of flights, then again it’s a beginner plane after all. Best wishes.
Great rc plane for starting the airplane hobby captain 👌 wondering if you might place a digital camera system on board like a Caddx Vista and fly it with dji goggles and remote controller. It would be amazing for sure💯
I love this plane. I always wanted to be a bush pilot and this looks about as close as I will get.😂 very short take off from rough ice bumpy runway. A Canadian bush special. Hey Steve I was wondering if this controller would work with othe planes too? It looks like a dream starter kit and quite big for the money. I can't remember if you quoted the range of the radio? Also is it a pretty good lifter? Did it struggle at all with your camera? I know it won't take a gopro but would it take one of those cube gopros? Still looking like the middle of winter out in Ontario. We are starting to warm up out west plus 11 today.
RC Plane radios are normally short range since planes must remain in visual sight. The plane is great for beginners. Another good ready to fly kit is the AEROSCOUT that I reviewed previously. This one is just at a lower price currently. It is a big plane so it can carry plenty of weight.
Is this plane as strong as the Ranger 1220mm for a bigginer? Im thinking about buying this plane or the Ranger 1220. I have several DJI camera drones AIR 2S Mini 4 Pro & Mini 3 Pro & a couple cheaper altitude hold helis, I just bought the Stargazer for my son & the Sub250 Whoopfly16 RTF fpv combo for myself but I haven't touched them yet. Im totally new to airplanes. Would you recommend this or the Ranger 1220 for a new pilot.
HI, question? Which of the two would you recommend for beginners? fms super ez v4 or pa-18 1300 I'm thinking that I would like to purchase one of the two
I bought and flew this plane several months ago and rather like how it flies. this is far from my first plane. My biggest complaint is that the spinner is flimsy and the way that it attaches is terrible. In fact I lost the spinner on my first flight.
@@CAPTAINDRONE798ah cool, the main difference I can see is the landing gear. It would be nice to have a comparison video with the ranger and ez and also the e flight Valiant?
For some reason I have no desire or interest in these kinds of planes. Not sure why not.I think part of it is because planes don't seem to add anything that drones have?
I can say the following. In 2013 I began with drones, but then drones became a bit boring as I had enjoyed all the fun things. Also drones are not a social item in the RC Hobby. So I then taught myself FPV Drones and I will say that has never becoming boring. Then I taught myself Helicopter and most recently planes. Finally, the 12 people I fly with at my field all fly camera drones from DJI and helicopters, planes and FPV Drones. Since FPV Drones and RC Planes are the most social of all the RC items that fly in the air, we all tend to fly those the most. Eventually you may find yourself wanting more and then you get to experience and excitement of learning a new skill all over again.
Both are good. As stated the "Hobbyzone Aeroscout' - actually a re-branded ESKY EYAS (Eagles) from China with a Spektrum receiver added - might have the edge for Sport Flying.
@@CAPTAINDRONE798 Ok, I am supposed to receive the WarHawk today. Wondering if I should send it back and get the Aero Scout. I went to a field where others were flying rc planes and I tried the Aeroscout. Seems pretty easy and stable. They claim that the warhawk is twitchy. Opinion?

I love this plane. I still can't believe you fly with snow on the ground!!!
I fly drones, helicopters and planes 365 days a year. I don't treat the RC hobby as a seasonal thing.
Love the footage Captain, sending you warmth from the South to melt that snowpack🥶

I guess he will now do like everyone in the RC hobby… Quickly learn how to glue the plane back to new condition and fly again.
I gota say that’s very tempting. Great demo and Jedi Top Gun makes it look easy doing those rolls. 😂

Quit a few inexpensive rc planes they produce today when I was a kid you could put thousands in to a plane and radio servos ect. 👍
The game has changed.... RC electronics and chipsets have exploded

Modern Foam planes are excellent and best of all the powerfully brushless motors do not annoy bystanders so you can fly them in many locations.

Most likely due to color correction on a dull day

I thing this is even easier to fly then the Ranger (make use of the built in gyro stabilization)
Does it come in BNF does it have safe
Price aprox USD 250 (April 2023)

FMS SUPER EZ as you get everything in the box. If you already own a Radio, Receiver, Batteries, then the PA-18.
