I have said it before and ill say it again- this channel is top notch. I guarantee that if you guys keep putting out content like this, you'll be one of the top RC plane channels on RUclips. Great job!
@Furyman325 he saying he biased and basically sucking the yt channels di... But I think he right this channel deserves more views/subs... In my opinion
No need to pump the tires. If you just put the needle in the valve the pressure will equalize with the outside air and you will see the flat spots pop out. Then remove the needle. This is the perfect amount of air. You may need to do this every time you get to the field, especially depending on the temperature.
Just maidened mine yesterday. Removed reflex gyro and used an AR631 with AS3X and SAFE instead which left me channel 5 for the reverse thrust lead. LOVE this plane. Thanks for the video!
Bro I bought the plane based on your review, the plane is indestructible, I’ve flown a couple of times and every flight has ended in a crash😅 and it still flys great, it’s just awesome
Fuck it this convinced me to order one. I have the 1220 ranger and love that so I think this will be good to get to that next step of progression in my skill
I really love the gear and inflatable tires on this bird! I really wish my Turbo Timber Evo would have inflatable tires as I don't like how the foam ones get dirty easily and tear up.
I’m a bit jealous, you guys are providing the kind of rc airplane reviews I’ve always wanted. Y’all are akin to some of my favorite car reviewers, completely interested in what the aircraft can do throughout its envelope and exploring how it provides fun. Its fantastic! If y’all have the room, one craft that I’d love a review on is that Eflite V1200 or 900. As a flyer (and builder) I feel like a plane like that is my goal (tho my skill set is a bit shy of it for now). Having an indef pilots perspective like y’alls on the plane would be great for learning! Thanks for the videos
Thank you! Means a lot. We’ve owned the V900 at one point back when we lived in Seattle and loved it. Maybe we’ll pick up another one day, but the Flex Piraña filled the go fast void for us and can do much more than the V900. Stay tuned for a review on it. 😁
Great video! Please keep them coming. You guys seem to be the only real flyer's out there. I would love to see a review on the new multiplex. Clearly multiplex's epp foam is one of the reasons you still fly your old fun cub. Thank you for great content!!
Mine is scheduled for delivery today. I have the 1700mm version and love it. As soon as I saw this 1300mm was available, I was all over it. This thing will handle the abuse for sure. I’m leaning toward NOT wiring via the gyro though. Don’t need it and avoids potential glitches especially considering this will see cold weather. FMS says floats will be released for this soon. Something tells me my FMS Kingfisher floats will fit this. We will see. Thanks for the great review. Appreciate a review that goes beyond just 5 minutes of touch and goes.
@@PanocekI personally have the 1700mm one and I love it. I think the 1700mm is better than the 1300mm because it's bigger and more stable, while also keeping a better than average maneuvrability for bush plane this big. You can also detach the wings, gears and stabilizers for better storage but not the fuselage, but that's not a big issue. Finally, because of the increased size and weight it can fly pretty well in medium/heavy wind and landing is easier because of the better stability. In short, I would say it's better for learning.
Thank you so much for this review. Started flying Planes this September after flying Drones since beginning of the Year. I am broke now, but I am having a blast. Bought the PA-18 1.3 after watching multiple reviews, but after yours the decision was set - had a few flights already and this thing is so much fun :D
My first flight with my fms super cub the ailerons were reversed. (I know it's my fault I was excited and complacent) it survived with minimal repairs. It now has several flights and its a smooth flyer and the best bang for the buck at this size for a bush plane IMO
I remember when there were just 1000 nerds here being entertained by your time on the sticks. Now there’s 10,000 of us! Congrats on the accomplishment! Keep it up lads!
This is the type of review I’m looking for. All the other rc pilots fly the trainers perfectly , I want to see what happens when I crash !! Maybe do a tip stall crash too
any plane can fit in a 1 series even the draco, but you need to pu the back seats down and use the trunk space, ive gotten 3 1200+ planes in there 2 fullly asseblef and one with the wing off
Y’all should review the carbon cub , I’m 10 years old and I can fly it with no problem . And I want to try to get into the hobby, keep up the good work
You convinced me to give foam planes another shot. I have nothing against foam. It's just the previous planes I was getting from everybody's favorite place stopped caring about quality., so I went to balsa. This looks like a solid fun plane
Great flying guys! A review of the bigger brother of this plane would be interesting to see as well. At least they say it feels a bit lighter. Happy new year, keep it up!
Thanks! We actually didn't find the bigger one to feel lighter wing loading wise and prefer the smaller one. This one has better tires, a better power to weight, and the smaller size fits our bill for flying in and out of tighter bush flying locations. 👍
REVIEW A MICRO PLANE!! I wanna see you guys hover the umx timber x or something. That plane is seriously squirley. OR the durafly micro tundra, umx regular timbers. They fly so closely similar to the big bois, but you can fly them in way sketchier spots and not kill anyone.
I mean we’ve flown the full size Timber into sketchy spots and not killed anyone… 😁 We owned the OG UMX Timber and loved it. It hovered (albeit barely) with a fresh pack and was super fun to do rolling circles with. Maybe one day, but micros really aren’t on our shopping list as we aren’t limited on flying space wherever we fly.
That's a big, and beautiful plane!!😍✈️ I've always liked the rc Piper J-3, and Super Cubs, and had a few!! They are some of the most docile and easy planes to fly! I would love to have this one!! I especially love the rc planes with scale details!!
Got this as my 2nd plane after only a couple of weeks abusing my UMX TimberX. I'm used to making bad decisions. This plane is not one of them. I love every nano second of flying it. And even though I'm the only RUclipsr to actually damage the nose, not named Nate- I repaired the tiny crack in the cowl easily because i know how to not crash at full throttle- I've only had to purchase a new prop. And still fly the OG prop after sticking it together with friggin super glue! This plane is just amazing!! Thanks for the video. It definitely helped me pull the trigger on it. Worth every bit of stink eye I got from the wife when it arrived. 👍 Can't wait to get some floats and make her all wet. The Cub. Not the wife. Obvy.
I'm here because I'm that bad of a pilot I could probably fly into a fence. I'm still very new, but I love it! The fence won me.over. I'm a subscriber now haha
Loved your video, just wanted to tell you. It's funny, informative, impressive and very nicely filmed. Idk what's wrong with the guys complaining about the commentary. Sure, you do speak rather fast, but it's still OK for a non English native speaker to understand everything so... Keep up the great work guys 😉👍 Edit: oh and btw for yet another way of abusing this bird you might wanna try flying it inverted at full speed through a vineyard cable. Litteraly got my twinstar 2 cut in half doing just that...
I personally bought the arrows pioneer rtf which is a very good beginner plane on a tight budget and ive moved up since then although it doesnt perform the best in the wind
Bit of a year-later update. Tires are IMO weakest point of the plane, as mine started deteriorating and visibly cracking after just few months, then started leaking air through treads. Replaced them with 15cm wheels for lols, resulting in bit of a flying monster truck. Otherwise flies nicely, relatively idiotproof and I can't praise Reflex gyro enough, especially as you can wire it up to 3pos switch as channel 5 and change beginner/assist/off on the fly. You fuck up mid air? Flick to beginner and plane recovers, allowing you to fuck up again 5 minutes later, not 5 days later after fixing the plane. Though if I were to buy it again, I'd probably get 1700mm version, those quick detach wings are really helpful for transport.
I think your doing a great job of showing what it is capable of and weather it’s straight out of the box or even if you have tweaked it to your liking, I can’t believe people have complained about what you have done I have not gone through all your vids but how does it stack side by side with the e flight version.
I was looking for a beginner bush style plane and after your less than favorable review of the FMS Maule, I decided on the FMS Kingfisher. You guys should do a review as well. If you think the 1300 PA-18 is the best Bush plane available, curious to hear your thoughts on the KF.
I can tell from now that i am not a beginner, i flew the old Beta-1400, the thing is it didnt fly 7 years, it never flew, so when ee bought new controler reciever and battery, threw it, it started to stall out on the side into the flat spin. Luckily i know how to get from flat spin but it was the most scary thing u ever seen, then we found out why it stalls out, the wings didnt have the metal tube between them so the wings started to wiggle... When we put something in it it was a lot better and somehow i managed to fly it for one hour, its still tailheavy but its nothing some nuts wouldnt fix

Wanted to get into rc planes last year and have got the urge again. this seems perfect but i cant find it anywhere in europe (FMS and hobbyzone dont ship to my country)
Great video. Glad you showed us you couldn't break it. But if you ever do break it, can you show us how you fixed it? I think back to RV-7 video and the broken landing gear. I broke mine the same way and couldn't find a glue good enough to hold plastic to foam. I have a theory you break a lot of planes, so tricks on fixing them would help a lot of people. Thanks!
Thanks! Haha. Yep, we have our fun for sure. Foaming gorilla glue activated with some water worked great for us on the RV-7. Haven't had it break since then and it feels much stronger.
@@TailHeavyProductions I'll try that next time I try to bond plastic to foam. I ended up using a long drill bit to drill hole in plastic all the way through battery tray plywood. I then found a 4 inch nut&bold to hold it together. It worked, but added some weight. Thanks again, I really appreciate the way you guys reply to so many people
Thanks! The springs are the only thing that takes the load on the Timber, whereas this bird’s gear design allows the gear structure to take the load combined with the springs. These springs also don’t have the limiting clips that break easily on the Evo springs.
i just bought one been watching lots vids its got a 3536 850kv motor 40amp esc 11x7 prop , if i run it on 4s can i drop the prop to a 11x5 or 10x6 my 3 s packs only last like 5 mins and its a pita taking 10 of em to the park i got some real nice 4s packs would last longer if i wont burn anything ?

Any idea when it will be back in stock?
would the 1300 soft wheels fit the 1700?
The landing gear looks great. Why does the Turbo Timber Evo springs break so easy? These look like the same type. Great video!
Thanks! The springs are the only thing that takes the load on the Timber, whereas this bird’s gear design allows the gear structure to take the load combined with the springs. These springs also don’t have the limiting clips that break easily on the Evo springs.
Do you have the link for the propellers?
What's the "in air time" with either 3s.or 4s batt?
