I mean the same people that were saying that the Fever had the #1 draft pick for a reason when they were 2-8 in the beginning of the season, are now trying to claim the Fever was a powerhouse team all along. No. Both Iowa in college, and the Fever now, she is dragging the team up, they become powerhouse teams thanks to her.

Seriously, it's like arguing with a 3 year old, when they're actually grown ass adults. The pettiness and dishonesty is almost comical in the dedication of those pushing the narrative.

As I commented on another video (of this subject) where was the outrage when Breanna Stewart won the same award. She deserved it (not the league) and A'ja didn't get it then. CC deserved it undoubtedly, from sell out arenas, to peak viewing figures, and her demeanor.

There was outrage. A’ja claimed racism. It was a mess. The thing is, there were so many fewer people watching last year that it didn’t end up being a mainstream story.

This is so incredibly damaging to all in the WNBA - She is forcing all to up their game to the next level and ... Concentrate on the awesome sport of Basketball.

Breanna won AP Player or the year last year. CC won Time magazine Athlete of the year this year. No WNBA player has ever won Time Athlete of the Year before.

Breanna has never won Time Magazine's Athlete of the Year. No WNBA player has ever won that award, but it is a newer award that started in 2019. Stewart was the WNBA's MVP last year.
Now Breanna Stewart was one of five athletes named the Sports Illustrated Sportspersons of the Year in 2020 as part of a special activist athletes edition. Usually there is only 1 & occasionally 2 athletes honored for their athletic achievements, but in 1987 & 2020 several athletes were honored based on the causes or charities they also supported. And Stewart is the only WNBA player to ever receive that honor/award (Pat Summit a female coach in women's college basketball was awarded the SI Sportsperson award/honor in 2011).
On a side note, there has also never been a Sports Illustrated WNBA Player of the Year award until this year. As I mentioned above, they award a Sportsperson of the Year honor every year, but it seems the WNBA Player of the Year award was created this year by Sports Illustrated to honor Aja.

The obvious response is "The award is for an individual and not an organization". If Time wanted to created an award for the Sport Organization of The Year award, WNBA wouldn't win that either due to they being clueless on how to handle their MVA (Most Valuable Asset)

Heard Keith Porter say in a podcast that no roster additions have been made yet. With Temi gone, it's nerve-wracking to wait, but these people are voicing vision. Hopefully they really will give us something to see.

It’s been a bit weird. No action. I hope that they have some European players on their list or something.

Teams have to wait until (April I think it is) to make trades and sign players. We just have to wait to see what the new management does. All signs point to them making some stunning moves to bolster the roster with starters and depth.

Robin, there seems to be a lot of concern about no player movement, I’m not sure but I think free agency doesn’t happen until January, and trades in February, then the draft in April. I would guess right now there a lot of calls to agents, finding out who may be interested in moving and potential cost. It seems a lot of folks are not realizing that, maybe you could make a video on that topic. Thanks for the good work you do.

    • @michaelflatters5906

A video of that type would be a great idea; maybe a small series explaining free agency, trade deadlines, the draft, deadlines, etc. Heaven knows we could've used one for the expansion draft, given all the misinformation surrounding that affair.
This would be especially useful for all the new fans that are finding this league, whether because of CC or somebody else. For some, this is their first foray into professional sports, and they get frustrated, in turn frustrating others, because they don't understand that the Fever aren't dragging their heels; they're working behind the scenes getting ready for free agency. They're no doubt over in Europe scouting talent and they're gearing up for the draft. To a new fan, it likely looks like a whole lot of nothing.

This whole thing sounds like a calculated drama devised to keep the WNBA in the news.

Before CC arrived the wNBA were overflowing BS without anyone really knowing. Any player who starts strong and tapers off sometimes disproportionately suffers in performance assessment. The saying only as good as your last game is a saying for a reason. It's not only as good as your first game/best game. It could easily have been Lexie if their performance trajectories over the season had been switched.

Larry Bird and Magic Johnson were the influential players just before MJ Robin

    • @michaelflatters5906

They were, but not on the level of Jordan, or Tiger. I was a sophomore in high school when they hit the NBA, and though there was already a bit of hype, given their NCAA finals the previous season, they weren't causing an immediate stir throughout the league. MJ, on the other hand, was much like what CC just went through. Must see TV, who put butts in seats; not just in Chicago, but throughout the league. Heck, not unlike the W, the veteran players (led by Isaiah Thomas) froze Jordan out in the All Star game because they felt he was getting too much attention as a rook.
