    Technically, having a rough surface inside the piping creates turbulent air flow on the wall of the pipe, preventing air from "sticking" to the smooth surface, which should result in better air flow. "Port and polish" has always been a bit of a misnomer, as you don't really want to polish the intake ports on a cylinder head. But realistically, it's not going to make much of a difference, and especially on a street car. You need not worry about it either way unless you're building a professional racing engine and looking to get every last ounce of horsepower out of an engine.

      Turbulent airflow does not overcome a no-slip condition at the wall. It will generate higher shear stress near the wall which reduces the airflow velocity compared to less turbulent airflow. A rough surface is not beneficial for increasing airflow.

  • @MeltingRubberZ28
    @MeltingRubberZ28 4 года назад +2

    I wonder if it's because you have the boot with no bellows on it that's straining the inlet pipe that caused it to crack

    • @MeltingRubberZ28
      @MeltingRubberZ28 4 года назад

      Bummer. I have the BMS full intake (including muffler delete) and I feel like my turbo isn't as loud as yours. However you're likely pushing a lot more boost than I am.

      Dv spacers can give boost leak symptoms if youre chasing power on these cars but they do sound good. The inlet and silicone hose together will give more induction noise and help with spool a bit if that’s what you want. Most brands will free up stock restriction

But I ended up ordering the mst inlet with hose as it will fit best with my apr intake.
