Some moments brought tears to my eyes. Really was an honour to see this.

What a great video in such unfortunate circumstances. I've always been enamored with how unique this border is, but to put a story on this separation gives me a new perspective.

So close, yet so far from their relatives. That must be a tough pill to swallow everyday look across at each island.

There was a very interesting news-docu-story type video somewhere on RUclips I can't find anymore about a lady on the Alaskan side who drives a taxi and it showed her cousins and family on the Russian side, including one older lady who said something to the effect of "[the separation] sad but necessary as the great country of Russia can't just let anybody come in," and the two talked over the phone together via a English-Russian interpreter. Can somebody help me find this video or if you know the title? thx!

This is so sad. The American and Russian families are so close geographically, and related in blood - yet so far apart in both language and country.

All the furniture and supplies come in by plane? This is so interesting! We learn more on RUclips than in 12 years of schooling.
It's 2024, do the Russians still allow you to see your relatives? (War)

I’d love to live here. So pure.
It makes me sad to see Christian crosses in their houses.
Also sad but kinda funny to see the old fella playing on his phone during the important reunion speech!
They have very similar dances to many Polynesian tribes. It’s all connected.
