God damn this helped me more than I can even begin to explain. I've only been modelling for about 4 months, but this video made my interior renders go from hard and flat with saturated light, to photorealistic. Thank you so much! Tip to anyone else who might need it: if you add glass to a window and you're noticing a large reduction in light, add a compositing tag to the glass, and uncheck 'seen by GI'.
Hi... I have merged the project of tool box.. And I got the scene and materials but the render settings are not showing... R21 VERSION.. any help please :)
i know this might seem stupid, but the very first scene when you hovered over floor object and clicked sky object, nothing pops up, what am i doing wrong
During the entire quarantine period, I learned how to write soft at soft soft. TNice tutorials is not to say that self-isolation is a pleasant tNice tutorialng,
sounds good, i like it, looking to learn some good stuff here, think i will get that toolbox and make a donation, the value you are giving seems worth it, please keep up the great work. I've just started seriously working with cd4. i am an Adobe person and i am looking foreword to mixing the two together with a movie i am working on.
Tonestarr Network Donations are welcome but not an obligation, so feel free to use Tool Box the way it fits your needs :) I'll be glad to help if you have more questions in the future. Good luck man ;)
Nice tutorial brother i just want to ask you wNice tutorialch software is easy and best to learn as DAW soft soft or abelton live. Pls reply as soon as you can
Very good BUT... forget using it if you intend to animate your object. It took 90 minutes to create a 1 second (at 30 fps) animation of a simple (1x1x1 segment) cube on my 6 core computer using one of the best graphics card.
I really like the tutorial, but I hoped there was a tutorial with more in depth information.. so I went on your channel to look for more videos and than I saw you're concept is "short video's" So I wanted to say for me it would be really nice if you could make some longer video's aswell, I get your point but its also nice to really learn why you do some steps and what everything means. So we exactly know what we're doing instead of just coping you... thanks of the tut but I hope there will be some longer and more in depth tutorials aswell in the future! Than you have my sub :)!
Anh Nguyễn oh, silly me, I found that the GI mode in Render settings is blank. Changed it to IR and the result is awesome, thanks for sharing your Toolbox
Do you have a tutorial on how to install your tool box? I also have a question about global illumination can it turn the walls a certain color that wasn't there before?
I feel ya. I've tried Ableton, Reaper, even shelled out for Cubase and I am no closer to understanding any of tNice tutorials than I was before. I don't
Hello Kay. Thanks a lot for your comment :) Concerning your question, I suppose that since GI has been drastically improved with R13 and the physical render engine, the option you are looking for is missing in your version. My advice, since R12 is now 4 years old, is to update to R16 if you can ;)
Hi Mario Chi ^_^, I have 2 question: 1. Why don't you use Physical sky, or you think background with GI Area light in Illumination's better ??? I see every final renders with physical sky are really natural 2. What is essence of GI Portal in theory ?
Trẫm Sup I am not a big fan of the Physical Sky. I am not a fan of tools that need setup. The essence of the GI Portal, as explained in the tutorial, is to help Cinema understand where to drive the light. To tell him to pay more attention at a specific hole instead of letting the light bounce freely.
>Grande! Grazie, mi manca ancora parecchio prima di poter dire che so usare cinema 4d ma il tuo aiuto è stato importantissimo Sono il 999esimo Mi piace ;) hahah
This is awesome! Unfortunately I can't get the files as studio box (also awesome) has taken its place. I'd love to recreate the lighting in this toolbox video. Are the files still available anywhere? 18 quintillion thank you's ;)
Finally a simple and clear tutorial that reach the goal without loose time!! Really thanks! I would like to ask you a question about the objects to put in a scene. Usually I spend so much time, looking for plants, furnitures, materials and I can't find so many resources online for free. This is a issue that many times make me think that could be better to learn and use other softwares like 3ds, Artlantis or Sketchup. Could you suggest me where is possible to find free objects ready to be rendered?
try Archive3D. That site contains A LOT of 3d models of all kinds, from furnitures and even people! and it's the best (at least to me) site for furnitures! It's free and most of the times when you download the file it contains all the textures. Maybe you have to reinsert them or recreate some materials because imcompatible with cinema 4d (because all the models are done in 3ds max and the extension is .3ds (compatible with c4d) but some materials are not imported ':), this may take idk a minute? two?
all of tutorials are depending on open windows or doors or so .. but wiithout those in the scene what is the trick ?!!! please help in a small tutorial ... thanks
Hey man, thank you very much. It was so helpful for get a natural ilumination, great tip. I have a question, unrelated to the tutorial. How can I get that tabs on the material menu? It is very helpful for order materials in big model. Again, thanks!
Good vid, I have a render problem though. My text looks normally 3D and when I render it only one letter of the text is 3D, and there are 3 letters. I'm really confused.
Thank you Mario for this tutorial! It looks very easy and the effect is great. I would like to download the toolbox, but this link does not exist any more and instead of it there is "studio box". Is it possible to somehow get the toolbox?

Hello Kay. Thanks a lot for your comment :) Concerning your question, I suppose that since GI has been drastically improved with R13 and the physical render engine, the option you are looking for is missing in your version. My advice, since R12 is now 4 years old, is to update to R16 if you can ;)
