I'd like to see you share a roided out version of this build. My first attempt i had a 2x3 core standing room with a refinery down there but it's stability wasn't too great. The version i just survived the wipe with is a 6x1 core with five different spots with the pixel gap to pass things through, one of which is a locker that i can gear up with from above and the gap is hidden with a rug so raiders will run right passed it. This is the last night before wipe so I'll be pulling all of my goodies out and putting them to use before tomorrow's wipe.
I've never played Rust but I can tell you for 100% fact that if people can't find the tc and are still privlocked then they will search and destroy your whole base. Whatever is left will be griefed and you're going to have a bad day.
@@Versityx F1 Kill to sleeping bag. Rotate around the loot you want to be able to access through the pixel gap box. F1 kill to go back to base and use the pixel gap to access the items in the box. I assume that's how this works
Hiding the TC is a big no no. So many times I've found pixel gap loot rooms when I couldn't find the TC. Leave TC in a normal area, use externals to stop griefing if you're bothered, then you might end up with boxes of loot left in your hidden rooms.
I went round and round with recks over this. Opinions are opinions, I suppose, but the odds don't seem to favor him. For that, I watch for concepts and some found here are useful, but all in all these bases are for slick noobs.
Here’s a tip for everyone, make a pixel gap in your compound gate house and hide your loot in there. I’ve been using this technique and It has never been raided. Main base always gets deleted but raiders never find the booms or good loot 😂
That doesn’t necessary work though because there are like a dozen or more different combinations people can make with the maps, and official servers change as well. From the difference just being that the island is a little smaller or larger but looks exactly the same, to one map being extremely tiny and only forest, or another map that’s the largest possible map size that can be made and is primarily just deserts. . So depending on whether you’re playing official or modded, and what the server owner decides to use as the map, the locations a RUclipsr makes about specific areas of their server could literally not exist at all on your server.
Overall though, I feel like the general best spots are by hills or on mountains where you can limit access to only one or two spots, divots in the land like he’s showing here where you can build 2 levels but pass it off from the outside as only 1, by the beach in the starter area or somewhat nearby outpost. . What makes a spot truly great though is how many trees and nodes surround the general area. If you have to walk more than 100 yards from your base just to find one single node, you’ve chosen a bad spot.
I appreciate that! I know this base design saves many people from having to start over and it's one of my fav ways to keep a base! More players is always good!
I built a 2 story 2x2 high on a cliff, it was super hard to get up there, you had to jump from the right place at the right time or you’d fall to your death, it took practice to learn but I got it, I upgraded the whole base to armored because I had a crap ton of HQM saved up. When it was stone 1 person attempted to raid me and ended up falling to their death. Best base I ever had sadly the wipe took it lol.

I have a tip, would it be possible ( if its not too much work ) to have the building cost top right in small as you go per section. as you place a wall add the wood cost and then what you upgrade too. This will be so helpful when building in a busy server and the person will know exactly how much materials needed per section
Please understand that if someone is raiding you and the raid costs more than they thought, that farming up a few more rockets isn't difficult and most players will do it.
Many people have had this design save their wipe. The fact is that farming up a few more rockets can literally take an hour or more for a solo raiding, assuming that delays don't cause counters, that alone gives you time to get on and repair. Acting like "OH they can get more boom tho!" Would literally make ANY base irrelevant and pointless to ever expand "Because they can farm more rockets" The point of a base like this is to confuse and delay raiders. A failed raid cost calculation is almost always enough to save your base unless you're playing modded.
I tried creating a pixel gap on console, and I could in fact get the "Open" icon to pop up, but engaging it wouldn't open the TC. I wonder if I have to spin the TC around so it's facing the crack.

In short i do the opposite of you: You hid tc room but i had the sink hole. My way to tc is obvious unlike you, but my way hides multiple layers of ceilings and tons of doors that are inside the sink hole. And best part is mine is a free build design so you dont need to follow any video, just build according to the location and to your wishes. Just make sure your foundations completely hides the sinkhole and make sure every foundation have at least 1 ceiling and wall set above them so no one can soft side it. This type of base is strong like a carve base. The best sinkhole base i ever got had 13 floors in the sinkhole. Extremely expensive to raid.
@@etherealw there are rare places like that on maps where 2 or 3 mountains are close each other. But most sinkholes are small and fount in the forest bioms. You can hide one or 2 levels underground and make it look like a normal honeycombed 2 by 2 base. Plus the trees provide extra cover while building it and makes it easy to get wood later on.
I ran into this base in the wild, it was painfully obvious that the raised foundations were hiding something and I eco'd into them and got everything for the cost of a jack hammer. This design will only work on inexperienced raiders who don't know how to check stability or what raised foundations look like.

Awesome base design but I really wish your tutorials were slower and easier to follow. I messed up a few times trying to follow this guide because you just speed thru everything.
i actually built this in my current wipe - only difference is, my drop box was above with some junk in it, so looking down through the gap you saw nothing -you had to look up from the bottom bunker
Originally I liked this idea of building the hidden TC/loot room, but once someone is in and cannot find anything, then it is obvious that you need to work your way down.
True, but the bet is, especially for smaller raids, that they won't have enough. Many times a raider fails not because they didn't have enough boom, but because they didn't use it in the right place
Rule of thumb : always spread loot (and the 3rd floor of a regular base is almost never raided) and never put everything in the TC. TC is the first thing people tend to raid, getting the TC is not even a big deal anymore thanks to multi-TC bases, no need for the outer walls to be on these multi TC, just put a TC somewhere and bring it back with foundations and voila : they can't place another TC and grief. tbh the best place for a TC is the highest place in your base, with roof stacking with half walls, raiding top down is not worth anymore and is only worth with very small bases. I don't even need to speak about turrets because it's obvious how they make raiding a hassle.
@@Reksmore ahh I never get to get near one I was hoping you could build a base that could block the entrance forcing someone to raid it just to then have to go through a cave base.
Could you upgrade the floors to reach the boxes still? If a raider uses rockets, they'll kill the stone ground fast. Four rockets and your "foundation" is gone and since it's three rockets through a door, or a combo, it's easy to blow up the floor by accident showing off the bunker area.
I've been doing this type of build for awhile it's crazy how many people can't find my main loot and tc when you find the right spot and build it correctly.. can also make it barely stable for one floor above you using half walls nn so when you have a half wall down in main loot and break it it breaks the floor so u can have all metal floors and break one with a rock in a few hits when u break the right half wall and keep replacing
The huge problem with this is even door path people like to one rocket and explo for sheet and a c4 plus rocket for garage door or even just 3 rockets weakening the floors, so over all you add one maybe 2 rockets to the cost, or you just get unlucky and they corner the foundations and get in for 4 rockets in total, just insight before my hours get questioned
I wanna see you build the unraidable cavebase/bucket base 👍 It’s pretty easy, but i just wanna see your version ☺️ Maby you got some good idea’s for it ? 🤔

i actually built this in my current wipe - only difference is, my drop box was above with some junk in it, so looking down through the gap you saw nothing -you had to look up from the bottom bunker
Noob here (just started playing), how would you get out of the bottom after locking yourself in? This guy just floated out??
People; its so obvious youre hiding loot big no no
Loot room; and your point is ? Its harder for you to find and more effort thats why
WOO ANOTHER VIDEO
Originally I liked this idea of building the hidden TC/loot room, but once someone is in and cannot find anything, then it is obvious that you need to work your way down.
True, but the bet is, especially for smaller raids, that they won't have enough.
Many times a raider fails not because they didn't have enough boom, but because they didn't use it in the right place
ive built similar bases except i put the TC and some dummy loot boxes in the main 2x2. when i get raided they just assume i had dookie and leave.
Another one! 😂
it's very easy to raid base only foundations are 100% stable :D wont work on me :D only way to cover floor tiles with carpets from the top :D
3 triangles make a pixel gap ... i dont get why people do more ,.,,,,...5= 2pixel , 7=3 pixel ...
Another good base my man, I may have a concept in mind for you to try, but I need to test something first to see if it could even be feasible
Medic... feel free to join reks discord and let us know...
is there a method to prevent gaps when making a terrain base like up against the wall or something?
Awesome video like always keep it up
Thanks! Will do! Appreciate the support!
First lol
Why even the effort. The moment I see floor stability I bomb down into the hidden floor. So why bother?
Second
When the floor is covered in rugs 🫣

this is a poor design, you can eco the foundation
You can eco all foundations! Good job!
@@Reksmore yes but eco'ing one foundation gives you everything. That's poor design.
@@roamingmillennial2200 Stop liking your own comments, it's weird
if i see a fundation with 70% of durability and less i destroy it
How the fuck do you get out spawning on the underground bag though
2 story 1x1 with double honeycomb.
I just startet Rust 2 days ago im just Shocked
Ok My Base Idea Is Mine Lol I can't ask u to Build it
oh congrats on the 50k!
yeah yeah big 50!
Thank you so much xD Literally a dream come true, that said I still can't wait for that 100k plaque!
Can you build in front of a cave?
There's a limit to how close, so unfortunately you can't block them off, but I am doing a cave video soon!
@@Reksmore ahh I never get to get near one I was hoping you could build a base that could block the entrance forcing someone to raid it just to then have to go through a cave base.
You can sorta with 2 turret bases
Could you upgrade the floors to reach the boxes still? If a raider uses rockets, they'll kill the stone ground fast. Four rockets and your "foundation" is gone and since it's three rockets through a door, or a combo, it's easy to blow up the floor by accident showing off the bunker area.
I've been doing this type of build for awhile it's crazy how many people can't find my main loot and tc when you find the right spot and build it correctly.. can also make it barely stable for one floor above you using half walls nn so when you have a half wall down in main loot and break it it breaks the floor so u can have all metal floors and break one with a rock in a few hits when u break the right half wall and keep replacing
nice to see REINFORE more defence for nasty raider.
I also think the way to fit MORE BUNKER to base.
Cheers
I see good potential for a trap base in it :)
Love me some trap bases!
This is all good if you put the TC up top but if you put the TC down low, it’s going to make a raider keep looking
The huge problem with this is even door path people like to one rocket and explo for sheet and a c4 plus rocket for garage door or even just 3 rockets weakening the floors, so over all you add one maybe 2 rockets to the cost, or you just get unlucky and they corner the foundations and get in for 4 rockets in total, just insight before my hours get questioned
good keep up ❤️🔥
The double doors wouldn't actually hide the gap. Because once the raiders blow the door, the gap is revealed anyway.
I wanna see you build the unraidable cavebase/bucket base 👍
It’s pretty easy, but i just wanna see your version ☺️
Maby you got some good idea’s for it ? 🤔
I shall put it on the list of things to work out
Sweet !! 😘
Sweet!
Very!
this is sick ngl
How do you get down there with items though?
If the raiders find you're still going back to that base after they raid you they may think something is up.
ngl - I kinda mess w/ this!
Secure and easy! Screw the offline raiders!
I built a better one 3-4 years ago. Even it was raided, main loot room was always safe and hidden.
the 6 rockets to open up the 2 doors will expose your loot. Also that gap has no tc connected and will decay.
Does the TC placed like that actually work? Thought it had to be connected to prevent decay?
1 raider with a hammer and it's all over
if you do this make sure to put key locks on the boxes so they cant open it and it will not make a ding if it is attempted
thats so good
Music is extra loud
Thanks for the feedback
