Aloha from Hawaii and mahalo, thank you for sharing your fabulous project. Your tutorial is clear, well-paced, and easy-to-follow. Happy holidays 2024.🌺
I hope you do give it a try. It’s my favorite paper prototype make and I have made different versions every year. Have fun with it and thank you for watching and taking time to chat with me too. Happy Stamping!
Thank you so much. I still love these ornaments and make new versions every year! Thank you for watching and taking time to chat with me too! Happy Stamping and Merry Christmas!
I was originally given printed paper instructions to make this and somehow I managed to do it. But your video is the best. My instructions were to glue contrasting squares of cotton onto a thin piece of cardstock, which works, but it's quite a bit harder to glue. I had to use the tiny metal clothespins on each piece that I glued and then walk away for half an hour until it dried, so it was a lot more time consuming but the results are just as nice. Thank you so much for this video.
Wow, I am so glad you found this video then! It makes me so happy that you stopped to chat with me. I hope you have time to make a bunch of these. I make them every year with a little something different each time. Merry Christmas!
Thank you so much! I've watched several videos but couldn't figure out why my stars weren't coming out right. Your demonstration helped me understand that I wasn't twisting the corner strips correctly.
That is so nice to hear, I am thrilled that this video helped you out. Enjoy making your ornaments. I make them every year and have several different videos on these in my Christmas play list if you are interested. ruclips.net/p/PLD-_6hyHsiqAHT_TkMGRfkkJ5iCLUxzOD Happy Stamping and thank you for chatting with me!
Here from Kimberly Cochran's channel. She said this was where she learned to make the ornament. I made one too. I am new to paper crafting, my strips were not quite even but i like how it turned out anyway.. New subscriber. i will check out your newer videos. 😊
Hello Debbie. Thank you so much for stopping to chat with me! So excited to have you as a new subscriber, thank you. I have also found that when your strips are not perfectly straight this ornament will still work. I am so happy you made one. Paper crafting is a fun and addicting hobby, but it is the people that make it the best hobby! Have a great day and Happy Stamping!
Oh, I hope you do, they are so much fun to make! Thanks for watching and Happy Stamping. I recently did another video with this ornament that you might like: ruclips.net/video/1Ye8sXESUew/видео.html
Thank you so much Teresa! This is still one of my favorite paper crafting projects! Thank you for watching and taking time to comment too. Happy Stamping!
I would love to share it with you. I prepared my fabric tonight with all the cuts. I used heavy bond to stiffen up fabric. I’m going to put it all together tomorrow.
Oh I forgot to ask you - where did you get the metallic emblem from? I want to order some Christmas one. Thank you so much for sharing your video. The tutorial was great and precise🤗
Hi Teri, I am so glad you found this video. It is still one of my favorite projects to make. I am no longer with Stampin' Up. I just did another video of this project, I will link it here incase you want to watch that one too. ruclips.net/video/1Ye8sXESUew/видео.html I am thrilled you are going to give it a try. They are easy to make and so much fun too. Thanks for watching and stopping to chat with me too. Happy Stamping!
Carrie Rhoades I decided a few days ago to make all the ornaments for my 2019 Christmas tree and I decided to start now. I’ve been making these out of paper for years but I wanted to make one that would last. I have only one ornament done so far..lol. You can see my progress on my Instagram Melatina66 is my name on instagram! I watched your video a few times to see how your method is different than mine! Keep up the good work with your RUclips channel!
I love these and can't wait to try them. I have 2 questions. 1. Most of the paper I see in stores and on amazon is 12x12 scrap booking paper. Is this okay if I cut it to the right size? 2. I'm new to crafting, so how to you cut perfect edges and get each piece the same? Thanks in advance!
calculusfan1 hi! Thank you so much. To answer your question, yes you can cut down a piece of 12x12 paper. I use a paper trimmer to cut my paper so that it has nice straight edges and is the same every time. I’ll post a link here to the one I like the best. But you can also find them in the craft store.
Deena Willis they were from Stampin’ Up! They have since retired this product. You might be able to find a die to cut something like it. Thanks for watching!
Love this! Could I just as you mentioned that it is paper you are using, however it looks thicker more like card to me. Maybe it is an American/Uk thing?
to make it bigger you still cut 1/2 inch strips? That sounds like it would just be longer between the woven center and the star points. My thought was to make it bigger you would cut your bigger square into 12 strips but they would be fatter and longer in proportion to your new size square. I haven't tried this yet but intend to do so soon. Very pretty - thank you for sharing this.
Carrie Rhoades I actually made it this a.m. it came out great, easier for me than the paper, as I cannot seem to cut paper straight. With the fabric, rotary cutter is great. Just place heat n bond on one side of each fabric then place those together and press, then cut out and fold. Shabby fabrics did this with fabric snowflakes. She is where I got the idea. Your ornament is very fun, thank you.
Monica Shahatit is love to see it! I bet it’s really cool. Thank you for letting me know. I have the opposite problem, I can’t cut fabric straight. 😊 I’m so glad you made it work for you.
Hi, I’m so glad you like this project. Unfortunately the paper I used has been retired and is no longer available since making this video two years ago. Here’s a link to the paper I used this year to make these same ornaments. www.funstampersjourney.com/PWS/carriestamps/store/AM/product/Christmas-Cheer-Prints,3187.aspx and here’s a link to the ornament. www.carriestamps.com/weblog/2017/11/woven-star-christmas-ornament-2017-edition.html Let me know if you need any help.
thank you so much yes knowing I can use 12 x 12 and cut in half I have some of that from last years projects! This is so pretty and well illustrated! Thank you again!
Jo Bernhardt I love using liquid glue is one reason, the other is I felt that over time double sided tape adhesive might come undone. But if you had a really strong adhesive then I’d certainly give that a try.
Aloha from Hawaii and mahalo, thank you for sharing your fabulous project. Your tutorial is clear, well-paced, and easy-to-follow. Happy holidays 2024.🌺

How very pretty and simple too! Must make many to include in Christmas cards. Thanks for posting!
Judi Gant thank you, have fun with it!
If you don’t pull it tight but just glue the ends of the strip you won’t have to trim them and you get a more puffy ornament with a lot of dimension!
I am going to have to that!
I LOVE this! Great instructions! 🥰
Randa Bishop thank you so much! I hope you will make some, they are so much fun!
Made this today was lovely and relaxing your instructions were so good I made it without double checking the video which is a first for me xx

Elaine Rennie This is known as card stock here in the US. Paper weight is 100-110 where regular printer paper is 80
I really liked this idea I wonder if you could make it from ribbon
I bet you could make it from ribbon if the ribbon was a little bit stiff. Let me know if you try it.
Add heat and bond to your ribbon to make it stiff. Do this in between two layers

Alison crazy cat lady you are correct: whatever size paper you use just make sure you cut it into 12 equal sized strips
Very beautifull. thank you very much.
Thank you Armanda!
I think u can do this with fabric and ultra hold heat n bond
Monica Shahatit yes, I bet you could. Great idea!
