@unusuallynormal231 The part is two paradiddles, then six diddles afterwards, that part wasn't explained very well. So yes there are only two paradiddles in it, but I guess the second one is a paradiddlediddlediddlediddlediddlediddlediddlediddlediddle lol. So yeah two paradiddles then six diddles, only one is a scrape (I think it's the third diddle) the rest are just diddles on one drum. After that is just the sixteenth note rhythm that he played and then you'll have that phrase.
@unusuallynormal231 it goes from diddles into three beats of 16s that are split, if thats what you mean if not get back with me, i should be able to help you out i know this lick pretty well
What I can't figure out is if the paradiddle-diddles and the whole run after them are tripolets, or straight 16th notes. In my head, playing paradiddle-diddles as straight 16th notes in a 3/4 time signature just wouldn't work. They'd have to be tripolets. But somehow, that's not making sense either. Can anyone answer this for me? Thanks.
@kaikaichen he could you clarify something? i'm trying to learn this and its a little hard to follow at 1:49. you say your doing only two paradiddlediddles but there seems to be more than just diddles after it. Or are those just scrapes because it seems like you're doing paradiddlediddles there.
Yes! I just finished transcribing it! :D I'ma practice all day to tomorrow and try to post a vid of it soon :D Also Bluecoats 2010 movement 2 quad solo and lion king lick tenor part
To me they don't sound like concert toms, but I do agree with you that they sound different than the tenors I'm used to hearing. They sound... higher and tighter.
the lick at that part goes paradiddlediddle - paradiddlediddle - then 3 counts of doubles, three counts of singles RlrrllrrllRlrrllrrllrrllrrllrrllrlrlrlrlrlrlR. A little late, but I hope you're still drumming!
They are just scrapes. The first paradiddlediddle (By drum #) is 2 1 3 3 3 3 and the second is 3 3 3 3 1 1. The measure that follows is all scrapes and diddles as follows - 3 1 3 3 2 1 2 2 1 1 2 2. After that they are singles until the end of that phrase which ends on a drum 4 shot release.
@kaikaichen aw dude sorry I kind of for some reason stupidly thought you were the person in the vid lol my bad. But it's all good I figured it out anyway. I can play the whole thing now.
Yeah, nice job! Oh, would you like to know something funny? I'm not a drummer. Though I have many friends who are, so I kinda follow that stuff, haha...
you can never be good at rudiments. rudiments are NOT cadences so its something you cant perfect. It basically goes on, the tempo should get faster everytime you get comfortable.
@unusuallynormal231 Um this is embarrassing, but... I'm not actually a drummer, haha. A lot of my friends are, though, so I'm like a fanboy. So... I don't actually know anything about drumming....

@kaikaichen They sound gorgeous. :)

To me they don't sound like concert toms, but I do agree with you that they sound different than the tenors I'm used to hearing. They sound... higher and tighter.

Excuse Limit - 0
tis is terrible too fast. im new. slower plz!
If you're new you should really focus on technique and rudiments rather than complicated licks.
im somewhat new. im already good at rudiments. im new at tenors.
you can never be good at rudiments. rudiments are NOT cadences so its something you cant perfect. It basically goes on, the tempo should get faster everytime you get comfortable.
