I can already think of a bunch of examples, bc ofc the number 3 is really important in Greek mythology to begin with. And maybe you could make one for the number 12 too. That's also pretty prominent. Just to help clarify: Athena and Ares are both war gods. But if you want to distinguish them, Ares is more the god of action (doing stuff- charging, stabbing, etc.) Ares is all about bloodlust. He doesn't really care who wins, as long as people fight, fight, fight.
Athena is more about forethought in war (leadership, protection, strategy,, etc. and, yes, peacetimes.)
    Athena is all about pride.

I wanna point out that the chair scene they added was GREAT. Because it's also adding a subtle hint to the fatal flaw trope of the series. The show is slowly showing how Percy's Loyalty and his constant willingness to put himself in danger for his friends is his fatal flaw.

    • @masonguthrie1257

While this is true it also is used to continually fail to show any type of weakness in Annabeth. Which is sad because she is still a super cool character but they are trying too hard to girl boss her. I thought the show was going to do a really good job with the spider scene because they seemed to have set it up with Ares’ line about Annabeth having no fear but unfortunately they went in a different direction which was not bad as it still added to the plot but it dodged another opportunity to make Annabeth seem more human.

I understand why the cut to black when Percy used his powers was disappointing, and I really do think it's to save money on effects, but I also get the impression that the scene in today's episode, and others that have come before it, are being carefully edited to show when he uses his abilities he's disoriented, and tired afterwards and I think the cut to black kind of works when you take that perspective. I’m really starting to enjoy these actors as well. One of the things I like about this adaptation versus the adaptations of the Harry Potter books is the deemphasis of the first person narrative. Rather than have the entire story centered around the main character, Percy, we’re getting to learn more about Grover and Annabeth apart from their interactions with Percy. Another thing I actually enjoy about watching their on-screen portrayals is the fact that all the actors look different. They portray the characters’ spirits and personalities so well that I really enjoy seeing they brought Rick’s visions to life, but at the same time their portrayals don’t take away from the way I imagined the characters when I read the books, only adding to my experience. For example, I still picture book Percy with black hair, the imagination of which brings back fond childhood memories of reading, but at the same time seeing Walker Scobell killing it by bringing out characteristics of Percy in a slightly different context only augments my overall PJ experience. I really hope we get at least 10 more seasons of a series that has been nothing short of amazing so far.

Another alternative for Percy falling of the Arch was something I saw in the graphic novel.
In the graphic novel, Percy willingly jumped off the Arch and Grover came to help with his flying shoes, but Percy was too heavy and they both fell into the Missispi River. Which was another cool way to show how Percy ended up in the river, and also shows the friendship between Grover and Percy. Though, I'm not bothered by the show's change.

I really like this episode, I like how not only do they address how messed up the gods are, they also address not everyone on Olympus is happy with the status quo Zeus is making them live by. This is my take on why Hephaestus freed Percy from the chair since he saw he’s the only one who makes people change their perspectives and wanting to be their own person and not relive the past all the time. It’s the reason why the fates smiled, because they are very aware the trio is going to change everything and don’t bother trying to stop them, since they can see the rules of the current status quo is no longer working.
Moving on, I have a theory that Aphrodite was watching the whole scene of Percy sacrificing himself and Annabeth trying to save him and is secretly planning for the two of them to end up together.

I'm literally so EXCITED for next week's episode as there's been hints that we might see some easter eggs at the Lotus Casino (Bianca and Nico). Nico's my favorite character from the Greek and Roman series by Rick, so even just possibly seeing a glimpse of him will be such a treat as we may never see him or Bianca until the third season 🤲🏽. This was a great episode as well. My only complaints were the same as yours plus with Annabeth's trait of not being as afraid of confrontation (from the series) being pushed slightly too much. It's been bothering me as sometimes it feels extra; but I trust Rick Riordan, so it doesn't bother me too much. I’m really loving the actors each episode more and more (Walker is a treasure with Percy; a character I immediately fell in love with when I first read the Lightning Thief WAY BACK) and Leah and Aryan are becoming favorites for me too with this series. @@leamichellemuller2173that might be the case, but even though Ares said he doesn't like his children, it doesn't mean he can't "use" them. That actually sounds very Ares-like.

@@leamichellemuller2173 He doesnt like his Kids. But he sees tham as utilities, a means to an end. He sends them on so many types of menial quests in the books.
So yeah, he doesn't like them but hes not afraid to use them.

I loved this episode! I could feel myself getting pulled into the story. It's nice to have little surprises here and there since most of us have read the books and you can never really duplicate that same feeling you get the first time you hear, read, or see a story.
I agree that the acting is getting better and better and I feel like they are becoming the characters more and more. Loving it!

I watched this episode last night, and I love it. The fact Ares' chariot is a Harley-Davidson Dyna Street Bob is awesome because those seem to be one of the most reliable motorcycles on the market from what I've seen, and it shows that Ares has embraced the American spirit to some degree.

    • @Gradestar10

Actually, it's alw his war chariot disguised by th mist. In th books aslo other magical objects of other gods look like smth else under th effects of th mist. Apollo's solar chariot is a red maserati, poseidon's trident is a fishing rod, a fire-hose or an ice cream, hades' helmet is a balaclava, charon's barge is an elevator etc, etc..

3:26 if i remember correctly Percy CAN get wet in the books, either if he wills it or if hes just concentrating on something else very hard, as was the case (if i recall correctly) on the Argo crossing the Atlantic in the huge storm.
(I think it was Kympoleia creating the storm)

Deep Cut for comedy lovers. In the tunnel scene, the animators had Hera and Hephaestus do a head bob to the song What Is Love like Will Ferrell and Chris Kattan’s characters did in the SNL sketch and movie for Night at the Roxbury.
A subtle, yet dope, touch in my opinion. 😊

6:06 Well, (from what I know) yes and no Athena is the goddess of War but she is mainly the goddess of battle strategy/tactics (because she's also the goddess of Wisdom) when it comes to her being the goddess of war so yes she is the goddess of War but when it comes to that she is mainly just the goddess of an aspect of war.

I really hope Grover doesn't think it's the guy is actually is so early on. It would be way too much of a leap since there was like 5 demigods there that it could have been. Plus, if he believes it's the guy who did it, that will make the betrayal so much lamer and expected

That’s what I’m hoping or at least something similar, I’m just hoping Grover gets it wrong and we still get the bombshell reveal at the end of the season. From what Grover is told about Ares hating his kids, it checks out that a child of Ares could be to blame as one of his kids causing a war of the gods would surely impress Ares.
