It might be an acquired taste. Maybe if I revisit the show in the future, knowing what to expect, I might enjoy it more. I am happy, though, that some people out there really love the show.
I am a massive Matt Berry fan. And all the positives and negatives you said are just his style i think. Other than that. I think this show is so good. It's not bingable. But great to relax to and just turn off your brain. If you never heard of it. Watch "garth marengis: darkplace" for more just straight up Matt Berry absurdity
Thanks for sharing this. I actually just managed to find the DVD set for "Darkplace" and have it on my to-watch pile. Your recommendation just made it wander up quite a bit. Hope to find the time soon. Currently I am at a movie festival and hope to turn some of what I see into reviews, too. So it might take a second, but will surly be watched 😊
True for me as well in parts, but overall it felt a bit repetitive. Maybe another watch, knowing what to expect, would change my overall take. However, happy that you like the show :-)
I stated that Toast sleeps with Ray's wife, however, it felt to me as if that just happened along the way, as part of their feud. It may have started it, however, I think there might have been more. Can't be sure, though.
The early episode and it was key to the ongoing dynamic between the two. The fact that there was repetition added to the tension as somehow you always half expected Ray to appear out of nowhere. Having said that, my kids aren’t impressed with it and I used to watch it in the middle of the night.
@@navydonald Well, maybe I missed that. It is always a possibility to forget some details, because I write the script for a video after I watched the whole show/season. Here it was after 3 seasons, so I guess that might have slipped my mind. I still need to watch some other content with Matt Berry, will make sure to pay better attention or take notes while watching 🙂
Iqbal Achieve is named after Clem Fandango's actor, Shazad Latif, who's real name is Iqbal Amin.
That's some interesting trivia. Thanks for sharing 😊
@MichasBreakdown Sure thing.
I mean, I really was cock of the walk back then....

It was so funny I had tears running down my face

Ray Purchase hated Toast because Toast cuckolded him. This was clearly introduced early in the series
