LGBTQ issues are real. I will gladly admit that many advocates for these issues do not take the right approach and can be annoying, but having a dismissive attitude towards the topic is not the way to make more folks feel welcome in the Linux community. You want more folks to feel welcome because greater diversity makes a group stronger, and greater numbers means more support and potential for improvement. Gender identity doesn't have anything to do with Linux, but that doesn't mean, "fuck you I don't care about your pronouns," it means "oh, you go by those pronouns? Cool, let's get back to the code." I don't say this to call anyone out, but I've grown and changed a lot in the last several years in regards to this topic and I think it's important for the community.
Diversity for the most part doesn't make anything better or worse. But there are definitely ways diversity can negatively affect things. Diversity of opinion can break projects since everyone is too busy arguing all the time, and forced diversity for the sake of it pushes out people that have more skill for people perceived differently that contribute less or at all. Same with easily interpretable COC's, easy to push out people that tell truths in a rough way that are just very passionate for people that only say nice things that don't care much about said project.

Hey, I wanted to ask a question to the interviewer. Is Vaxry real? Is he a person that exist for real as he describes himself, or is he making things up for clicks? Because I've pieced together the backstory of his person from the first 46 minutes of this interview and my bullshit radar is going crazy. Here's a list of facts about Vaxry that aren't consistent with reality, or are extremely unlikely to occur: >he bought a used Radeon 6400 XT for $1000 >when he first started to use Linux, he started using Manjaro and Arch not long after Manjaro failed him >4 months into Linux he moves from KDE to i3, a totally rational and normal thing to do, totally no issues with learning curves and contrasts in ease of use >4 months into Linux he writes his own WM because a well established WM annoys him, instead of complaining about it everywhere like all new Linux converts do >he lives with his parents, which implies he's either a teen or in his early 20s, but his knowledge of Linux, his Hypr project, and everything, implies that he has at least 5 years of experience with Linux, which contradicts him being this young or being this broke to live with parents, a person who has this much Linux experience is definitely earning enough to move away >he's a new guy in town on some Linux forum and everything he says gets a 1000 upvotes, totally not staged when you remember that Linux community is notorious for infighting >some Wayland shill tells him off and is bullied off the platform, wow, did RedHat run out of money on people upvoting him back up or what? this is just unreal, Wayland shills normally always get their way because you can't argue yourself out of Xorg being old as dust and insecure, talking back to a Wayland shill normally gets you banned too >he uses Polish currency to buy the Radeon, which implies he is located in Poland but for some reason his English sounds as if it were native, which yet again, could be likely explained if he wasn't native to Poland, but then again, people whose native language is English are most of the time extremely successfully fended off from moving into Poland by lack of neetbux, lack of copious amounts of child benefits, and lack of grossly exaggerated minimum wages, which makes his origin and the origin of his mastery of English language a complete mystery I don't mean to shoot this guy down, his accomplishments are pretty cool, but these improbabilities and inconsistencies with reality make him come off as either a freak of nature or a mythomaniac. Or both, why not.
I've actually started using Linux from Void in my 18. I've been using DWM back then and actively rewriting it. There is nothing special when you are into IT and doing some system stuff since your 9-10. Also it's totally normal to live with parents in your 20s in this part of Europe, even given the income... We don't actually like mortgage and all shit, so it's OK to live with parents until you have some money to buy a house
@@snowworm4601 Yes, but in a good way. You see, Vaxry comes off as someone who was born with 20 years of Linux experience under his belt.
