@@orhanalkan_blender I will make a video in the future explaining the configuration I'm just waiting for them to add xWayland. It's still very much in development
Each their own. For me 1 large monitor with a good tiling window manager is what I’ve settled on after 25 years of programming. I use to do 3 to 4 monitors and for me it was info overload and an ergonomic problem.
Seems pretty cool. It reminds me of the gnome patch. I forget the name. But i used that one because I couldnt find a good tiling patch at the time. Besides pop shell. Edit: also qtile when? (Ive been messing with a bunch of wms lately and qtile is really landing at the top of my list rn, awesome is also really good but the lua is harder for me to really get into 😂)
idk when im gonna do qtile tbh sometime in the future most likely. but yea niri is based off that gnome extension so far its pretty nice im just working through the quirks in the config but the actual scrolling function is really ncie to use. makes me think of all sort of ways to manipulate it
@@jdanks I'll definitely need to check it out myself sometime in the future. I can see this being a useful way to manage windows. Especially since I have a bunch of other window managers also. So I could just log into this when I feel like it would be useful for what I'm doing and into a normal tiling wm otherwise. or the otherware around.
It's me, I'm that guy 😄 Btw, thanks for doing this one. When I try to explain scrolling to someone it gets hard. Also, I use 4 displays including a 5120x1440 😅
im a weirdo design wise. one tiny detail is off and something becomes ugly to me. thank god i dont feel that way about women. in that realm i have 0 standards lmao
Went from i3 to hyprland to dwn to qtile back to hyprland to niri back to hyprland and back to niri. This is my last stop for now. Using it daily is sooooo much productive
@@ojukwuezechukwu9712whats making you switch so frequently? any problems? im pretty sure youre now stuck between niri and hyprland (since youve switched to wayland, from the looks of it, and the two is the best wayland-native compositors right now) just wondering cuz im also stuck choosing between the two (performance-wise and looks-wise)

Hello, the desktop you used in the video is amazing. Could you make a tutorial on how to set it up as a beginner?
@@orhanalkan_blender why is this in quotes?
@@jdanks I don't know. Since I don't know English, I translated it with chatgpt.

PaperWM! yeah niri is inspired by it; they’re very similar philosophies

Niri seems boss and really different but I’m way too much of a coward to daily it
if i can get it all the way configured and running all my normal stuff i will probably put it in my top 5 window managers rn

@@sheesh3178 Decided to go back to niri because of the scrolling feature and UX. Being able to scroll through help a lot with my productivity
