We Tried The Best Cookies In Disney Springs! | Gideon's Bakehouse Opens, A Little Update & More!

In today's vlog we head to Disney Springs for the soft opening of Gideon's Bakehouse. We got there about 15 minutes after the opening and we got on their virtual queue, it was about a 2.5 hour wait at this point. We were able to take a trip around the Springs to see what else is new this week. We tried the new Wondermade marshmallow spot, we had the chocolate covered peppermint marshmallows and they were so good! We checked on the Everglaze and M&M's construction progress. We're excited for both! We have some lunch at Wine Bar George where Tim finds a new lunch favorite, the BLT+C. It was delicious!! Then it was our time to check out Gideon's! We got in the physical line, which moved so quick, we were in in about 5 minutes. Then we finally to see the inside and it was AWESOME, very creepy and cool. We loved the themeing, they did a fantastic job! We tried some cookies and gave our initial reactions. We also tried the peanut butter cold brew and also LOVED that. We'll be back for sure! I don’t know if anyone already mentioned this, but Ample Hills didn’t go out of business. The original owners filed for bankruptcy, the company was bought by someone else. The locations here in NY are still open but the ones in FL closed for whatever reason

You guys need to go to East End Market where the original Gideon’s is. It’s my favorite place in Orlando. I’ve never waited more than 10 minutes for cookies but it depends when you go. Everything there is INCREDIBLE! Highly recommend Farm & Haus, Skyebird, and ramen from Domu.

Hey Tim and Jen, love you guys so much. Been meaning to mention, you might want to try noise blocking ear muffs for Jacksons naps out of the house. It might help him fall asleep as well as stay asleep. It will be useful for him to be accustomed to these when fireworks return as well.
Gideon's has to be the most beautifully themed building in Disney Springs now. So up my alley, I was gasping the whole time you were in there. I want my house to look like that too! Toothsome is my favorite themed building in City Walk.

Pro tip: For getting Jackson to fall asleep in his stroller, I recommend laying the back down as far as it goes, investing in some muslin swaddles and stroller clips, and covering the stroller with a muslin swaddle attached with stroller clips! My daughter just wants to look around forever in the stroller but if I block her view, she falls asleep almost instantly while rollin' and strollin' 👍
It makes total sense. We go to Disney all the time with our 1-year old. And make sure Jackson is really tired when you put him in the stroller.
We went on opening day too. We didn't have anything else that we wanted to do at DS that day to kill almost 3 hours of time for virtual wait, so went to the other location. So we got their cookies that day too, but much quicker. We will eventually get to see inside DS locations ourselves on day.

Wondermade is in Disney springs. That’s so awesome! I always feel like that store is on the verge of shutting down because it’s a small local business and their products are not cheap. This is great!

I had the pleasure of going to the OG Gideon’s in Orlando. It’s a tiny booth inside a food hall. Remarkable that their first big storefront is at Disney Springs. I hope their success continues because they have great quality delicious cookies! Pro tip: Go to Gideon’s first to get in virtual waitlist and then go shopping/dining. Waitlist was 2hrs Saturday late afternoon.

Gideon’s cookies are the best. I concur with Tim to forgo the bday cake and get these cookies instead OR the cake slices!! You can preorder the slices or an actual full cake at the Winter Park location as well! The cakes looks gorgeous and that’s the only thing I haven’t tried there yet. So excited to go to the new shop 🤩
I'm a huge peanut butter fan too, as far as I'm concerned PB and banana are the perfect food. If you like that combo and you have a Smoothie King, try the Choc. Elvis. I get the diet version but it's milk, yogurt, cocoa powder, PB2 (peanut butter powder) and banana. A little bit of heaven in a cup.

My parents and I ate at Jaleo in November. Our server said they had to shut down for a while, and things were really hard, but Jose Andres and the rest of the Jaleo team made sure every one was taken care of while they were closed.

We just ate at Wine Bar George and it was very bit as delicious as you said. Thank you for recommending this food spot. We also went to Amorette’s Patisserie and ordered the Mickey Mousse cakes and they were so delicious as well. Really added a wonderful addition to our holiday here in Orlando. The whole family is just a pleasure to watch and you both are so fun to watch and relatable. 👏🏽👍🏽🙌🏽

I am living vicariously through you this holiday as we are going into Tier 4 lockdown for at least 2 weeks in the UK. They were going to have a 5 day relaxed period over the holidays so families could eat and meet up, but they then decided that would cause a spike in covid cases, plus there is a new mutated strain which has everyone panicking about, so from 26th only essential shops are open, basically supermarkets but only food aisles and pharmacies. We were at Disney Springs in November 2019 and there just seems to have been so many new stores open since then. I am just loving your Christmas masks, and jumpers when you do a night vlog.
Oh no! We are in Scotland but we’re still allowed to see people today. It’s crazy how things are so different in the four nations, we are level three but going into level four tomorrow. No tiers for us. We also went to Disney in November 2019!
I finally got to go and get my first taste of these cookies... My favorite is the pistachio cookie... not overly sweet... we got the famous chocolate chip and it's good but very rich... and of course we got a slice of cake... the rainbow and it was a sugar rush like no other... thanks for the video

The other location of Gideon’s has a little theming but definitely not as much as the Disney springs location. The original location is in a food market called east end market with lots of other vendors so they don’t really have room there to really go all out with the theming.

Yeah, definitely wouldn’t wait in the 2 1/2 hour long physical line for a cookie. Don’t get me wrong, they look delicious, but I wouldn’t have the patience for that!
Don’t buy them at Disney springs. Go to the original shop in winter park. And even with that, do a pre order, don’t wait in line to order. You may have to wait a few days but when your order is ready you just walk in and pick them up, no waiting.

Lifeline pilots is amazing! I donate to them every year. Illinois is littered with rural towns with limited, if any, critical care and specialized medical institutions. Even my family in Springfield, IL (the capital) has had to travel to St. Louis or Chicago to see certain specialists for high quality care. It’s a problem and I’m so glad this organization exists.

We just got back from spending Christmas week in Orlando. We just missed you Christmas Eve at Hollywood Studios, we walked over to ride Millennium Falcon. We went to Gideon’s the day after Christmas and I brought home 4 cookies and I’ve been grazing on them since lol! I had to get my box out and them along with you 🤣 it probably a good thing I do t live near Gideon’s because they are amazing!!!
The olive garden mints are just the ande mints you can buy at Walmart. They just stamped olive garden on the mint for them. One of the last times I ate there they had the regular Andes stamped on the mint.

That peanut butter iced coffee sounds good! I'd love to be able to try Gideon's some day. Those cookies, and cake, all look, and sound, so good! I agree, Tim - white chocolate always seems to tick, heavy, and cloyingly sweet to me. Where was that bacon, egg, and cheese panini? Glad to know Wine Bar George has such good food, as I don't drink, but would love to eat there someday

We were leaving Disney that same morning and swung by hoping we could get in but the wait was over 3 hours and we had an 8 hour drive ahead of us so we missed our chance to go. Hoping we can go in February

Jaleo participated in Magical Dining this year (and last)...this is a wonderful time to try it because for those 2 years they did 4 or 5 courses for the $35 rather then the 3 courses other restaurants do. They are open for dinner only on select days with a smaller menu but still very good. Also, the $9.99 lunch burger at STK is fantastic! Definitely worth it considering you are on property.

So exciting about Gideon’s! We were in Orlando a couple weeks ago and preordered from the East End location so we had to get 6 cookies. It was so many. We were eating them for days. 😂 One is definitely enough for our family of four. Can’t wait to try the coffee cake one!
And I agree with others. For stroller naps, recline the seat and throw a light blanket over so he can’t see. I always found there was too much fun stuff for my kids to watch and they wouldn’t fall asleep unless we covered the stroller.

Wait... hold on Tim you haven't been to the original Gideon's location?! Their cookies are truly the best and I'm so happy for them that they expanded. My husband and I love their October limited cookie - Frankenstein (it's their cookies and cream flavor rolled in M&Ms) and the Santa's White Christmas. The original location in Orlando is not like the Disney Springs location though. It's WAY smaller (it's one of many businesses within one building - there's a bread/bakery place, a smoothie place, coffee, a ton of different businesses and a Domu next to it as well). But I just love the look and aesthetic of this location at Disney Springs and can't wait to go 😍I also love that the coffee cake cookie will be permanent at it, because it's amazing too. Especially with a cup of coffee 😋
