Hey girl! 👋 I'm at a very similar point in my business where I'm more focused on product creation, figuring out my niche, and less focused on marketing. I had a bit of a dip in sales in December and January (so far), so these algorithm changes and other teacher seller platforms are definitely on my radar. I'm just not quite far along enough in my business to put much time into it. So just wanted to comment that I definitely understand where you're coming from on that end! It's a tricky world to navigate when there are constantly changes and new shiny objects to try! 😆 Wishing you a successful 2023 in however that looks like for you! 💕

Thank you for a great video! I agree with you that TPT is changing. My ideas:
    1) To tell the truth, it is an illusion that there are too many sellers and resources on TPT (yes, some niches have more resources). Once I was searching for some primary ELA grammar and noticed that the quality of some resources is really low... I guess that personalized search is about this: offering buyers more quality resources, not the ones that somehow managed to jump to the top pages in the search by tweaking the keywords and views. TPT is promoting itself as a marketplace for high quality educational resources. Let's say that I am not eager to use low-quality resources in my classroom...especially if I pay $$. It is quite logical.
    2) In May 2022 (or April, I don't remember) TPT bought a very expensive (million dollars) AI software, so I presume they are testing it for this so-called personalized search. I saw that news back in spring. And I doubt that they will stop the testing. It was a huge investment for them.
    3) My store was not affected by the new algorithm. Yes, I saw less traffic, but more sales (and money) in the end. I was travelling so the whole October I saw out of FB and all. Then suddenly I read in some FB group about the new algorithm.... I mean I noticed nothing from my sales.
    4) If TPT doesn't change and use new things, the probable competitors will take the chuck of their business. Changes are inevitable.
    5) Other platforms. Well, TPT is a big corporation. Let's admit that. If they see some platform coming, they will just buy it... Let's be realistic. Who can compete with Google or Meta? Nobody.
    6) Yes, the best way to secure yourself is to develop your own website, blog, email list. I mean anything what you own.
    Phew! No more ideas

Oooo love your thoughts! Thank you for taking the time to leave such a detail message!!
I think you are right too about there being too many sellers! There will always be a need for new people and their expertise in a certain area especially as time goes on a technology changes! And yes high quality products is a must! I totally get what you are saying!
I didn’t think too much about the investment side of things as to why all the changes but yes! That’s a big point right there!
Thank you also for sharing about your store and how it has done with the change!
Thank you for writing what you think! I loved reading your thoughts! 🌸💕
