I love these roll around can storage units. I had something like this for my fridge back in the 70s. that I used for soda cans. Lots of kids and in those days, everyone drank soda. Really handy. Looks like a real answer for your storage. That 'shed' is working out well for you. Nice job.
I have several of the Cansolidator Pantry and Pantry Plus on shelves in my basement to store canned goods, but I also use and have long-term Thrive Life food storage. I love them and the foods. You've got me hooked. Next sale I need to get a floor shelf unit to hold Pantry Cans, as they work best for me and my small family. Shalom! Thank you so much Tinyhouse Prepper, for your helpful tips and information. Ham, pulled pork and turkey keep for two weeks when opened and the other meats last for 25 years. I will take your advice and also purchase the pantry cans for foods which go bad early. Blessings to you and yours.

Here's a thought. If you are buying to build long-term food storage, then it will cost you extra money that's not part of your budget. But if you are using it every day like groceries, it doesn't cost you extra. You just spend some of your grocery budget at Thrive instead of the local grocery store.
Bill the prebuilt shelf is great but you are so handy. If you built a cupboard for the cans that had a front door and a back door then you could push the new cans in from the back door and take from the front door.
You are right! Women read the instructions before they start. We read it if we have to. In other words when we have messed up! 😂 Good video. Thank you my friend. Life is good.
It is a neat system to be sure, but for that price and space it takes up, I think I'll continue to rotate manually. My floor to ceiling shelves were, I think, $40 CAD. They have 4 shelves as well and can hold around 100 soup cans per shelf, perhaps a little less if the cans are bigger. I store my water on the bottom shelf, cans, etc on the next 2 and something lighter on the top to keep the shelves stable.
Hi there. I have the cansolidator and used for a few years, but they take up too much room. You get more room in the pantry if you stack and leave a little room to put the newest cans in the back. Thanks for sharing your videos!
My husband will love this!!! We were thinking of buying these, and since you showed how to do it, he won't bother with "reading" instructions either! But will make tinder from them instead! LOL. Does hot and cold temperature in the shed effect the stability of the thrive life food? This was a great video, and if I can store in my shed those shelves would be great to get. Thank you for sharing.
Thrive Life food is not affected by the cold. We stored ours in PA in below zero temps in the winter. But heat is not good for it. Don't store it long-term above 90 degrees. (Occasional heat waves are not a problem, but not for months on end.) In the heat, the food will not spoil, and it can still be eaten. But the taste and nutritional value will degrade in extreme heat.
@@LiveSimpleLiveFree thanks for replying. I guess since I live in east Texas my outside shed is not going to work. But I did order a set of organizers to try out. If they work where I think I can use them I will get more. Thanks
Thank you for this video. I was wandering about the racks and this helped a lot. Thanks for telling about the pulled pork which I will try. I eat more chicken and pork than I do beef.
This looks like a good system appropriate for a location which is dry and will have a consistent temperature. I hope this also means it frees up some of your living space in the Tiny House. You didn't mention how much the system that you built costs - it looks fairly expensive?
Actually, the temperature is not really a concern. Thrive doesn't do well if it's stored over 90 degrees for a long time. (We don't have that kind of weather here very often.) But it is not affected by the cold, because there is NO moisture left in the cans. We have kept it in an unheated off-site rented storage area for several winters (-10 degrees) with no issues.
This is just superb, I've been looking for "survival foods list" for a while now, and I think this has helped. Have you ever come across - Proutklarton Surviving Technics Plan - (Have a quick look on google cant remember the place now ) ? Thrive food is not effected or damaged by the cold. It doesn't freeze because there is no moisture left in the can. We have heat in the shed, but we won't use it unless I want a heated workshop for a few days. We will store the Thrive out there, and in our off-site storage, all winter in the cold with no problems.

I am more confused when I read instructions.
FIFO first in first out. lol
Kinda sounds like a pain in the tush to put together.... some of us women, do not have strength in the hands to do this.....so we have to hire someone to do it and you can't find anyone anymore that wants to work.....know what I mean ??? Those shelves do look sturdy and once up, they should not be coming apart, correct ? Good job putting it together.....Jack of all trades should be your name.....LOL.....
It’s not that difficult, just follow the instructions. And they’re really great when done.
