"I love black people...But at the same time I don't know them niggas" this a real ass statement
I love how human this entire interview was. I definetly want to see more artists interact with outlets like this
Bro I’m so grateful to both you and Noname for the love 🙌🏾
Came for the shoutout but got hooked for the whole hour 45 cus this honestly one of the best interviews I seen in a minute! You got a gift forreal brodie - it’s the perfect combo of hip hop knowledge, skill as a journalist (as far as how to ask questions and conduct and interview), and being entertaining.
I think most interviews end up being a glorified Wikipedia page lol but this interview y’all was legit vibing and I got to see so much of the artists actual personality. If I didn’t see the intro, I woulda just assumed y’all was been homies for years just chopping it up lol.
I got real beef with the RUclips algorithm that they ain’t put me onto the page before this but I’m officially tapped in now. Keep it up dawg 💪🏾💪🏾
Bars
On god , I got beef with the algorithm to 💪🏿💪🏿😎
she’s got no knowledge tf are you on? lmao she literally hates white people because of the mfs in the suits
I’ve never seen such a relaxed and in depth interview of Noname. An hour well spent and still.. soooooo much more to ask this woman 😭
So first time listener. THANK YOU for giving Noname a welcoming platform. And thank you for asking the right questions and giving the lyrics the love it deserve. It felt like so many ppl didn’t listen to a word she said on that last album.
The fact that she mentioned Ransom, Rome Streetz and 38 Spesh, made me love her even more.
Finally a interview from the queen
So happy Noname decided to do an interview and with you! We Love you, Noname! This video was a great conversation! And niggas are not talking about Sundial enough!
I love every single album... every single hook tug on my soul. Great interview. Made me like Noname more - got her Sundial album as soon as she dropped it. Thank you
She’s so amazing ❤ shout out to the interviewer too!! Really made this interview SOOO GOOD and worth listening to!
I appreciate that you asked some real ass questions. This felt more like an open conversation than a strict interview. Good stuff!!
splendid interview. Noname has been an important voice the past years, and she really brings it hot on Sundial, so to have her on here now really solidifies what that record is distilling so well.
you always give artists a spacious place to share their thoughts. really the online Stoa of popculture.
thank you EtYG.
x.
AYO, you got Noname…. One of my faves forreal- “you know they whipped us n****s, why you afraid to rap” is part of why I started rapping again….
You goated officially my boy 🙏🏾
This was a really good watch, thank you to both parties for coming together and making this
This was so needed man. Made my love for Noname came back heavy because of this.
Damn noname is so beautiful.
Ik I was lookin at her kinda different 😩
stop lying to yourself dawg 😭
@@woopoganntnt7379 why would i be lying about that ?🤡
its so refreshing hearing noname share her thoughts open again.
I knew Noname would like your review. Thats so cool that she reached out to you for an interview.
DAWG! This was a dope intro to your channel and an amazing convo with NoName, yall re-inspired my drive to be more informed outside of whatever tf my feed shows me/ppl speak on 🤣 but also man, SunDial was insane and I love that the passion, love and beauty the music has exudes through/from her as well as everyone who helped make it!! Shout out to yall, stay up and much love from Detroit!
Noname, you are so talented and full of life and beauty. Your search for truth has gotten so deep since the first time I heard your music as a high schooler (Sunday Morning). And I am sorry if that journey of knowing has given your soul suffering. You have an inner light that shines through in your darkest songs, and especially shines in this interview. Thank you for expressing your truths.
Nah this is what I needed. Hearing Noname talk her shit, felt like I was talking to my damn self. Loved this joint. You did good Eric!
Big up Fatima. Your voice is important. Keep going. i have grown up listening to you. I appreciate your sharing your journey and communicating your insight so beautifully.
Thank you for this interview. I love Noname as black kid that grew up on the south side Chicago and to have a peak inside her world was amazing, plus I agree Montego babe is my favorite 🔥
Eric! you are one of the most talented and also the most underrated interviewer on here. And you are underrated because you have never compromised your platform. Thank you for your genuine energy .
Love this content and aesthetics. It's like I am listening to real human beings, speaking from the heart, about their truth...I am listening.
this is how i wish more rap interviews would go
Grateful for the space you’ve been able to curate Eric, another fantastic interview
Love this interview. A brotha and sista just having a honest talk. Love, love
“I can see criticism being an act of love” 🙏yes , such a needed messages
It's always a pleasure to listen to Noname ❤ so grateful for this interview.
50 minutes into the video and just noticed you at the bottom right corner, Hey!!! Love the interview, love Noname and will be at the Toronto show
you really be giving the best interviews my man
it took a dozen watches before i realized that you're in the bottom right hand corner, eric. the interviews are so good i thought being invisible was the way for video makers to go, the interviewers wave of the future. the only hip hop eric i ever knew was eric b. and i only heard him talk as much as you talk in the one video for the first time about a year ago. i was suprised how much noname looks like her mother and read "blood in my eye" again recently and saw her talking about it and some other books. guy who wrote tribute song to george jackson was 4 months older than him and is out on the road as an 82 year old whereas the guy he sang about has been dead for 52 years. i hope you and noname last another half century.
I'm only 20 minutes in and I've really enjoyed this so far! Glad that I stumbled across it. Great job Eric and Fatimah/Noname.
And I've just seen that you've got an interview with MIKE!! I'm definitely subscribing now.
Such a needed interview/conversation. It's my first time getting hip to your content. Instant sub!
noname and mick and saba were on tour many years ago me and my homie spoke with her after the show and she signed some shit and allowed me to take her portrait she is so kind , great batch of people
THE GREEN DUNGEON ! such a good interview. Thanks again Eric !!
This shit is so inspiring and real. Noname answering every question so honestly lead to great convos. Luv what ur doin/
This guest is really interesting and charming, like a person, an artist. I wish her every happiness and success. Give hugs! Beautiful.
Noname is sooo fresh. Beautiful skin too. Great conversation. Well researched and reaffirming. Homeboy”s shower cap was a bit distracting but when I closed my eyes it went away! 😀
When she mentioned Toni Morrison my mind immediately went to the verse "Reading Toni Morrison in a nigga canoe cause a bitch really about her freedom" on Montego Bae 😂. Urgh man I love her art so much, and I'm happy she has finally given most who didn't try and understand what her drive is and were quick to judge, the semantics of her representation to the world. We are all different and we perceive things differently so give someone the space to express themselves the very same way you'd want to be given the platform to speak your truth. Thank you Eric for having her on the channel, very insightful indeed 🙏.
Appreciate the discussion. My 2 cents at the 34 min mark:
I think that when Black artists discuss their experiences of hurting other Black people, they don’t do enough (currently) to point out who’s fault it actually is & how we got in this position in the first place. The trauma rap rn is just another form of the blues…which could be a community healing session. But if we stay in the blues and blame ourselves for the blues, without highlighting the yurugu culture that conditioned us to harm ourselves in the first place, we just keeping the same cycle rinse wash and repeat rather than healing
Noname the legend, I wish I could have seen you perform in DC
i love her. this interview was amazing. great questions and energy from both of you!!
Truly a masterclass interview. Thank you for this!!! Subbed 💪🏽
This a great interview man 💯
I watched the whole hour and forty-five minutes. Noname is so articulate with her words, it's crazy. And You did a very good job in interviewing her. Good show👏
Eric this is one of them ones!!!
When she’s barring up my soul, she’s Noname. When she’s just chill and talking like this, definitely Fatimah. I can listen to both forever. Thank you for this!
Might’ve never found your page if it wasn’t for this interview. Imma have to check the other interviews out for sure.
Ps: even though it was only for 1 song.. Ghetto Sage is second only to the Migos
Glad you still getting quality content out gang, keep going!
All we gotta do as black ppl is start coming to shows, support our artist, not just listen to their music at home, but show them hey we're here, we support you too, get comfortable!

This video is so old but man this makes me love noname so much more. As a white fan i just appreciate the music and the messaging wholeheartedly and im so glad that there are spaces where black artists can discuss their stances and takes freely without the overarching criticism of consumerism. Just makes me happy to listen and learn more. Keep up the good work. This is real journalism!

Noname really had a point about the critical acclaim for Black Death I didn’t know we had other stories growing up honestly even in Tyler Perry which was thought to be light
Pleeeease tell her we LOVE her in Africa! Noname, you can come and do the tour here like your haters are telling you to 😊 (sidenote: of course Africa is not a country or monolithic, but I'm appointing myself the representative of the continent for this comment😅. Love from 🇿🇦).
Related, unrelated: I might be the biggest contributor to your album listens at this point, my lady. So beautifully written & composed. It's also refreshingly honest while not brash.
