I absolutely love Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Johnny Depp and Freddie Highmore did such amazing acting performances, and the whole movie is so wonderfully put together, kudos to Tim Burton! Love them all.
Johnny and tim have such a fabulous dynamic! They seem so comfortable! I love watching their interviews together! An their films are always great! An he truly laughed which he doesn't often do in interviews :D Love him!

This movie was a miss they just couldn't beat the original it's a mistake to redo a perfectly made movie. Still one of the best director and actor in the industry.
im sure tim burton was inspired by psychedelic drugs otherwise he couldnt make such movies u can rly feel and see it when u watch his movies they so different from anything else u see and in some case pretty weird but always a phantiastic experience to watch. + look at tim burton in this interview and tell me that he never tried drugs xD

I think Tim Burton is a great director and Johnny Depp is an awesome actor, but I personally found this film to be one of their weaker works. I don't think it's god-awful nor "insulting" to the original 1971 film, but I do feel it could have been a lot stronger if Burton gave more proper directing to the child actors and even some of the adult actors in the scenes where each of the 4 kids got into trouble around the factory. I dunno', they all in this film seem a bit too passive when each of the kids got into trouble. In the original film, their reactions felt more human, like for example: When Augustus Gloop fell into the chocolate river, even the other parents and children reacted accordingly. They didn't just stand there and watch like: "Eh, I don't care. His grave, not mine."
i still think gene wilder was the better wonka. though i loved johnnys performance. he brought a different view of wonka. it was more realistic. i mean come on you live with alone with these singing midgets. your gonna be a little loopy. but still johnny could not beat gene.
I'm torn between my love of the original Willy Wonka, my appreciation of Johnny Depp's other work, my disdain for Tim Burton and the atrocity this remake is.
