Your review is amazing, when I built my PC my drastic oversight was a motherboard without wifi. I usually am far away from the router and did not want to buy a new modem, so I was hoping when I bought this adapter it would work properly. Thank you!
i bought one after watching this video, i got to tell that that was the best $28 that i've spent to improve my online gaming experience. When there is no way to connect to a router throug LAN cable, a very adecuate WIFI adapter choice will play the dramatic role, I was choosing between very cheap $8 adapter and this masterpiece, I made the right decision, my laptops AX201 wifi chip is a mediocre when compared to this adapter speeds and latency.
I just placed an order on this! My old TP Link wifi adapter stopped working after a year for me. Granted it was Wifi 5 and not dual band. I then ordered one from Netgear and it was not working with my PC. It was caping my speeds at 54 on my 5ghz wifi and was always stuck there. Never went up or down. So I'm returning it and hoping this one will actually work and do the job!
I want to know if the product supports 160Mhz. Here is the background: 160MHz Channel Support 160MHz is the highest bandwidth available on 5GHz routers. With double the throughput compared to 80MHz channels, it can achieve data rates up to 2.4Gbps on capable clients. However, it is important to know that not all client devices support 160MHz wide channels.
sounds cool, in my case i have old laptop and its wifi unable to handle dtron Wi-FI6 signal, so it make sense to try this usb wlan stikc, thanks a lot!
Now, in December 2022, it became widely available in EU (like holland as well) It's also available in the US and Canada through local shops and Amazon.
want to ask, is this specific model supports AP mode / PC tethering where you use this wifi adapter as wifi transmitter? or maybe this wifi adapter is only for receiving wifi signal?
Theoretically, yes, it depends on what operating system your device is running. I would highly recommend downloading the latest drivers from the official website.
Is online gaming feasible on this? Wired connection is not possible for me and i get 3 bars on WiFi with occasional ping spikes. Can someone who got this item answer my question? Did your gaming get better?
u need to have a decent connection in the first place...this device only useful if let say for example u use mobile hotspot in a room 10m from you bcs that place has the best signal reception, so naturally this device will help you reduce ping from being far away from the router ( your phone)
Good question, I have not tried that. I assume the slow-down speed also depends on both the receiver and transmitter (router) as well. I could give it a try during my free time
I don;t get it. it says it can get like 1,2Gb speed on the network settings of the device, but all I get is 300mbs even tough I have 1Gb provider and 5Gb compatible gaming router. Am I missing something or it's just a trash? 3m away with no obstacles, my main board with integrated wifi gets 340Mbps lol. da heck?? any tips? Using Aorus Gaming 5 370 motherboard
It is because USB 3.0 speed is capped at only 600Mbps. Hence, you won't be able to get Gigabit speed. Since it's a PC build, why don't you get a PCIe Wi-Fi 6 card?
@@imjoshuawong oooh so basically what i need to know if my router supports the same wifi system as my wifi adapter like both should be router 6- adapter 6 or router 5- adapter ?5
Aside from showing the Internet speed, I also shared the ping. This ain't benchmarking ISP speed, it's how fast the adapter and router able to communicate
@@imjoshuawong Maybe the one I got was defective or something, but I have one of the older thumb sized tp link adapters and it performs better than this one did. 5Ghz didn't work at all without constantly disconnecting and on 2.4 although it didn't disconnect the ping would spike to 1000+ every 10-15 seconds. Probably shouldn't have called it absolute shite as I'm sure it works fine for most people but it was a nightmare for me trying to figure out why it was worse than the crap one I already had. Ended up returning it.
@GeraltJones thanks for sharing. There's a possibility that the Wi-Fi channel on your router set was not favourable to the TX20U. Changing channels would probably help. May I know you ended up with which brand and model USB WiFi dongle?
@@coolboy-26 I just started using the one I had again. It's considerably slower but stays connected no problem and only has ping spikes that you'd expect from any WiFi connection, certainly not into the thousands.

Great video! Just ordered one since my Motherboard doesn’t have built in Wi-Fi and I’ll be moving away from the router
Great choice
just to confirm, this will work on my pc as well as it is hardwired with no wifi card
@@TonyMotana_Yes mine is like yours. It’ll work well as long as you have USB 2.0

I just got this, I was using a Bros Trend Ac3 from 6 years ago, HUGE improvement. Tyvm sir.
It's a powerful little USB Wireless dongle

What router you are using at the moment? I afraid there's a speed limitation from the router as well.

Does it support MAC OS? The speeds seems slow ...

Finally a wifi 6 usb antenna!!! Thank you!
Yes and it's a strong one
gracias por las pruebas tan detalladas.
Can it cover from 3 wall?
Is there a release date yet? I can't seem to find a place to order one. Also, will it be available in Canada?
It's already available in Malaysia, not too sure about in Canada. It's available on Amazon, perhaps you can order through them
Now, in December 2022, it became widely available in EU (like holland as well)
It's also available in the US and Canada through local shops and Amazon.

This is a WiFi adapter for PC. It doesn't works as an AP or other modes.
Which is better? The TX20UH or the TX20U Plus?
I didn't get to try the TX20UH, but based on specs comparison. It seems just like an aesthetic update.
how about the light indicator, is it color coded?
Any heating issues with the adapterafter long periods of hours gaming and heavy downloads?
I didn't game or use it for heavy download. But I have used it for 8-10 hours, didn't encounter any problem
Does this work well with hotspot connections from your phone?
This is to install on Windows PC/ laptops.
Hi, is it possible to use this adapter alone, without any router, to connetct the PC to a VR visor for simracing?
No. This adapter is to use on Windows PC only
Couldn't find anything about this in the comments. Do i have to remove my inbuilt wifi module from my mobo? Or can i just plug it in and use it?
You don't need to remove the existing WiFi module. Just disable it in device manager
so basically you plug it into your pc / laptop and it installes its software itself ?
Theoretically, yes, it depends on what operating system your device is running. I would highly recommend downloading the latest drivers from the official website.
does it work with M1 mac mini--and/or PS5?
Nope. It only works with Windows operating system

Hi bos. My laptop does not detect 5g wifi. Only 2.4g wifi. if i buy this will my laptop detect 5g on my router?
@mohamadanwarahmad1130 Your laptop probably has an 802.11b/g WiFi card. With the TX20U, your laptop should be able to detect 5GHz networks.
is it not getting hot after long use?
@tyr1484 nope. It has much more surface to dissipate heat
do you have a trick to install the drive on MacOS (Sonoma)

Of course TX20 Plus as it has the newest Wi-Fi 6 that promise more stable and faster speeds comparing to Wi-Fi 5 (AC)

It would detect as 2 different networks. I assume the USB modem you referring to is a 4G modem. The TX20U will work as a WiFi network instead
thanks!
