I'm never going to get AI Bros as an evolution of Crypto Bros out of my head now.

if money is the drive then there is no hope. if its cheaper nothing is going to stop them. and this is just with as powerful as ai is NOW.

It's pretty hard to be cheaper than free. I'm trying to hold out hope, but it's looking bleak

I have courageously contributed to the fight against AI by not witching this show.
Seriously though, I was hoping this was a case of using AI as an artistic tool with tightly controlled outputs, but....no. If the intent was to get things to feel off and warped and "wrong" there are 1000 ways to do that more effectively and with more precision than what they did with that intro. It's no better than some tik-toks I've seen.
Even if they had managed to pull off an artistic masterpiece, I would agree with the issue you raised about precedence. I do think, though, that there was enough of a stink raised that they're not likely to try it again, at least in such an obvious way. Maybe someone else will, and I think it's going in the toolbox as something that can be used in certain situations, but I don't know if we'll see any obvious big-bugdet use of the tech, at least for a couple years. In the meantime I don't think I've seen anyone stupid enough to try the same thing, but maybe I missed something.

You raise a good point, I haven't seen anyone else try to sneak AI into their shows recently. There was the Loki S2 poster, but that got similar backlash, so hopefully the studios have learned something.
Oh, and about skipping Secret Invasion, it ended horribly so you totally dodged a bullet there

@@1cegrim I'm pretty much over marvel movies and shows at this point. I did end up watch the second season of loki, and I honestly don't know why I bothered apart from generally enjoying the actors involved. Didn't know about the poster, but glad to hear it got yelled at too.
Honesstly, apart from the small (but vocal) set of AI "enthusiasts", I haven't seen a single person looking forward to more AI shit in movies. I remember when CGI first became a big thing, and while there were a lot of haters (rightly so, in some cases), a lot of people were excited to see what kinds of things would get made. That got way stronger after Toy Story showed you could do high quality stuff with *just* cg.
There's nothing like that with AI. The average person isn't going to see *any* benefit from it, and most seem to suspect it's going to have a negative effect on the quality.
I do wonder how long it'll be before someone tries to do a full feature. There are "studios" trying to get that to happen, but I'm guessing most will crash and burn, or end up with something like food fight in terms of quality.

@@theexaustedslime yeah, I doubt anyone's going to bother with a full AI movie anytime soon. And with the countless incoming lawsuits it's just not a technology I see surviving as a "creative" tool for much longer.
Regarding the MCU, I feel like superhero fatigue is setting in HARD for most people. For me it's that the movies/shows have turned into required reading similar to how marvel and DC comics have been for a while. Quantamania made me realize how little I want to watch filler movies just to be able to understand the things I actually want to watch

It doesn't affect the show but it kind of has a profound effect on the future of mankind.
We now live in a world where humans do manual labor and work minimum wage jobs while AI paints and makes art and writes poetry.
That's the BLEAKEST description of our reality I've heard in years. Instead of using technology to lift the burden off of mankind's shoulders, we have stuck ourselves with the burden of labor and said creativity is a robot's job.
Human creativity is second class to "creativity" artificially manufactured by a machine.
If you described this reality to an American in 1960, they'd think that Russia won the cold war and Russian robots are oppressing mankind.
If we allow artistic industries to be taken over by AI, human creativity will become a worthless novelty, and all future art will be done by algorithms.
Its BLEAK. It's fucking depressing. Humans do the shitty labor of the world while robots make art??? That's horrifyingly sad!
