    We have a riot actually racing, 120 ft of track with 12 lane changes, no scenery that blocks your view of the race. We stick with out of the box carrera, paul gauge tires and better guides. We change the track when everyone gets too good at it. Close racing and competitive.

    If you know how many slot cars you have then you don't have enough, Fly cars are a blast to race against each other and in Dayton we race Fly and Scalextric and Ninco in the same class and it makes for some tight racing. Test, tune and repeat until you get it where you want it!

    Nice job, Marty - thanks for shining a spotlight on a brand that doesn't get the love that the newer cars do - but back in the day they were state-of-the art in performance. Just glad I bought most of mine when they were about $50 new...which felt like paying $89 for a nice car today. 😂

    Marty,
    On track - I think Carrera is good track - like any plastic track the better you can stabilize it to prevent bounce and/or vibration - the better the racing will be.
    I like what you have now, in that you've got a nice long straight that let's the motors run out.
    A technical section to break up the straight runs & press driver awareness and car handling. And an overpass to help equal lane lengths.
    Each of those components are good IMHO to have on any track - plastic or wood.
    If you did anything, you might consider a re-arrangement that incorporated a straight before the "S" turns to allow the cars to settle.
    Then modify the turns coming off the overpass to something a bit more open to help flow.
    Just ideas - YMMV, lol

    Without question Fly cars are still my favourite slot cars. I know I should like other brands more. I know Fly have their issues but I know how to get around those typical Fly issues and the rewards and satisfaction I get back from my Fly's is exactly what makes Fly my preferred car of choice.

      Great comment Glen! The reward is great with a little bit of tuning. It was fun just putting in a few laps.. reminded me what cars still need a little attention and which ones are great runners!

    Nice! Fly cars are great cars when you tinker with them a little bit, I remember back in like 2003 in my club we used to race them all the time so much fun, Fly classics class I loved running the chevron cars true the rear tires maybe add some spacers in the rear axle man those zipped around my carrera track! the porsche cars like you ran also were nice.

    • @BSslotcars
      @BSslotcars 4 месяца назад +1

      @@twolinesslotcars Hi I love the policar track it's much better than my carrera I used to have, all the cars run better the grip is really good with the stock cars tires you don't even need to change them and urethane works great also. policar track is built better than carrera it's stronger thicker and all the accessories fit and work really well with the whole policar track package. One bad thing is if you like running silicone tires they do not work good on policar track...ask how do I know well because I am the guy who got Nick of super tires to start making tires for the bigger slot cars and in fact I did probably 75 to 80% of the 1/32 tires testing sizes and having him put the best ones into production and in the first few years i sent him so many wheels and tires from my cars that I told him he should make, super tires are the best silicone tires because I tested tuned sizes kind of how like you true your rubber tires to the size that makes your car the fastest around the track and other places just copy the stock tires. I even had him do some ho tires and tested some of those too. I knew Nick since the 90's we talked almost everyday sometimes multiple times a day before the past couple years before he passed away. I only put one video up of just a little bit of what I had custom slot cars I painted and club track I had so many 4 lane club ho tracks and 1/32 tracks at one time I had some carrera and scx rally tracks and two ho tracks all computer controlled for club racing... you can see some of it just a little in one video I posted from my RC channel search slot car sickness you will find it. Hope this helps policar tracks awesome..you should try a small set out. sorry for the book!

    Saturday Morning ROST Coffee Time with Two Lines! - Very nice and very fun to watch. I purchased all my FLY's before prices went stupid during the Pandemic. I do have to admit that I do not run them much due to the quantity and quality of the other brands in my collection. I did set a couple Porsche 908/3's so I could run with you all when I make the trip down again. They are fun when running with other FLY cars and they have some of the best details. I should to revisit them more often. Right now I am having to much fun getting better at running the REVOSlots.

    Nice track Marty and a cool video - watching that i recognize i also have a big Fly Problem... 😅! The propotions of the cars are great, but if i want to drive these i tune them with a metal chassis. If you close the gaps within the track pieces the cars would be a little more stable in the curves. Greetings Carsten

    Hi Marty, great topic. With the variety of brands of slot cars out there, many needing a digital chip upgrade. How do you know which chip to use? Is there a standardized guide out there? Which chip for this brand versus that brand to work on my Carrera digital system. There is so much out there it gets confusing. Thanks

    Hi! I’m searching for solutions to get an analogue FLY car running on my 132 digital track. I installed an FT slottechnik chip in it, but can’t get it to run. When I test it on track I get no throttle response. I can manually slide the car over the lap counter and I get a beep.
    Do I need to install a capacitor between the two engine poles.
    How did you get your Fly cars running? Hope you can help out.

    • @twolinesslotcars
      @twolinesslotcars  29 дней назад

      Sebastian, with out looking at the car.. I would say that you have a wire not connected to the right point. Sound like you are powering the chip, if you get the beep.. but no power to the motor. Does it register to the controller?

    • @sebastianarenram4235
      @sebastianarenram4235 29 дней назад

      @@twolinesslotcars thank you for answering! Does the motor need to have a capacitor installed between the poles? I have them on all my Carrera cars, but there are none on the Fly cars.
      I’m not sure if the car gets properly connected to the controller if I can’t try the engine. I do follow the instructions though and tried it probably 10 times.
      Appreciate any help I can get.
