As a female that loves to watch hockey but also finds some hockey players really good looking I would never do this. What the booktoker says about these players is just disgusting 🤢.Felicia Alexander’s wife made a very amazing statement about this whole situation. She was very nice and was not mean in her statement. She always has a right to feel uncomfortable about this whole issue even when she was ok with it in the beginning. I feel like the booktoker just total missed the point of her statements.

I understand that and agree that you can revoke consent whenever you want but she did say that she would’ve deleted the video had someone messaged her privately 🤷🏽‍♀️ when you’re getting flown out and given a jersey by the actual team…it’s probably really hard to see where the line is. I understand her anger and I understand that it’s totally fine to decide “wait I don’t like this” but like
When the wife is calling him the panty dropper of tiktok I get why she’d make the comments she did. It rubs me the wrong way to say “use common sense” because if your own wife is playing into it…then isn’t “common sense” to also continue to play into it for notoriety? Like she’s on tiktok for a reason and she was getting views with support from the team and the specific player’s wife.

They both expressed that now this is getting out of hand and that it’s making them uncomfortable but somehow Kiera is the victim and their attacking her??!??? “They played into it” that was at the beginning when it was just surface level comments and just like a little crush. Again with the same “if a man did this” argument, but if a woman posts a bikini pic and wants to show off her body and that she feels attractive, it doesn’t mean she wants to be DMed what somebody wants to do to her because it’s unsolicited, therefore it’s sexual harassment - I think these videos should be treated the same.

People don’t stop being people with needs and emotions just because they become public figures. There is a big difference between calling someone hot and explicitly describing desired sex acts. Yes, they played into it at first, but CONSENT CAN BE REVOKED. If someone asks you to stop, you need to stop.

Everyone was okay with and played i to the surface level, more innocent comments because that’s what the players/team management were comfortable with. Why is everyone so shocked that players and their families can feel uncomfortable with blatant sexual harassment?? I thought that initial video was really gross and certainly crossed a line. She should have just apologized for her sexual comments and taken down the video instead of justifying her behavior and blaming them for “playing into it.”
Also, can we stop expecting celebrities/influencers to give up basic human rights because they’re famous?? Everyone deserves privacy and the freedom to say they’re not comfortable with something and that shouldn’t change because someone is famous. The gross behavior people try to justify is outrageous

The universe science says was not always there, it had a beginning point, the big bang, meaning it was begun/initiated in other words created, thus there should be a creator,
      there must be a God.
One God for all of us
he created us all and can revive us again,
      God initiated everything,
& he repeat/redo things too, & thats clear, we see many cycles of different things in life, also in summer for example the desert land becomes like empty and is filled with only sand, and when rain falls in abundance in spring or winter, after that small flowers & wild plants grow again, also, we see how humans and animals grow and how their body is formed from the elements which were in the sand which plants feed on which they eat, and after they die they go to the sand and their atoms/elements are taken by plants which humans & animals eat and their bodies grow from those atoms & elements found in the sand which came from previous humans & animals which died before, so God can bring us again after we die even if our atoms became in the sand he can make us from the same atoms we were made of or from other atoms if he want or make us be in a spirit form or like ghosts, any ways, everything in this life is recycled, learn if you want about the different cycles in life in nature, the food cycle or food chain, the water cycle, even the gas cycle that makes the air the oxygen &carbon dioxide &nitrogen cycles, even the energy is like recycled but only changes from form to another form.
Anyways,, God created this life but it's only a temporary sample/an example of a coming everlasting one
which could be either in heaven paradise or in hell.
If we try to be good humans in life, and try to obey God and his messengers-including the final messenger for all humanity the prophet Mohammed- and those whom rightly represent them, for example imam Ali & ahlulbayt the family/good descendants of the prophet mohammed, then we will all go to heaven/paradise, if not then we will go to hell fire and burn in it forever.

Like someone can become uncomfortable and revoked their consent, it’s still valid. It’s one of the reasons I think this boom of the romance genre needs a serious evaluation especially because the boundaries that they seem so fine walking over and the vicious defense of this is screaming porn addiction. I truly believe women shouldn’t be shamed for liking sex. I love a spicy scene in a book, but there’s a line. Especially when people will only read a book if it has sexual content. Feeling entitled to make these comments to these again REAL PEOPLE shows some serious lack understanding boundaries, which if you only read and enjoy sexual content books, is very concerning to me.

YOU HIT THE NAIL ON THIS HEAD WITH THIS ONE FRRR. I'm about to leave my thoughts on this just because I really enjoyed the upload, but it's going to be very long so beware:
I feel like BookTok is definitely a slippery slope as far as the sm*t. It's okay when it's a healthy intake but when it gets to the point where you can't read a book without s*x and it's obsessive, that's definitely concerning. That's why 29:57 was so accurate to me because some people are sm*t addicted and are losing a grip on reality. If you see a real human being and athletes only through a sexual lens based on the type of content you've been consuming that's definitely a problem.
I have always been so against sexualizing people online (i.e the whole "what color is it, there's a slight vein at 9,2, bubblegum pink, till my back breaks" etc, etc) because it's replaced human decency and kind compliments with sexual innuendos that just feel so gross to me, especially when it's not on inherently sexual videos, they just say that to a person they're attracted to, warranted or not (though it never really is warranted). Why are you guys so okay with talking about people's bodies like that?
So when it gets to the point where you can't make distinctions between online fantasies and real human beings with feelings who probably don't want to be catcalled on a day to day basis, that's where a thick line needs to be drawn. It's perfectly okay with fictional characters that have been designed and written to be catered to their female audience, whether it's romantically or otherwise, but people? Nah.
I also agree that there is definitely a double standard between men and women being sexually harassed because y'all WOULD NOT let that fly if some men did that to a female athlete.
The original video that that Booktoker (idk what to call them) made was disgusting to me (6:15). Even if "it's not serious", or "everyone on tiktok does it.", those types of sexual videos should never be directed at people who are just living their lives. Like what happened to "He's handsome/cute"? What happened to normal compliments that aren't heavily sexual or having to do with peoples bodies? I just have a very personal gripe with those types of people and their fans that defend that immoral behavior and hype it up to the point where they feel like it's okay to do those things. Like was it necessary to talk about your "holes" ON A PUBLIC FORUM LIKE WHAT HAPPENED TO MORALITY Y'ALL...
I also have a personal problem with her using the race-card (22:17) as a POC because it had nothing to do with her being black...at all. It was about her actions, and Alex's wife didn't seem to have any racists intentions she just wanted people to leave her and her family alone. Kierra shouldn't be exempt from criticism just because of her skin tone.
I completely understand Alex's wife finding it funny or relatable at first (because ofc she can understand being attracted to her own husband!!) until it escalated and had this snowball effect that interacted with their daily lives. If you're catcalling or yelling at him or leaving gross comments on either of their Instagram (especially on posts with their literal CHILD), that's when you need to seek help. It is such basic knowledge that consent can be revoked as things progress.
I do agree with Kierra though as far as businesses using BookTok or other interests for their marketing and feeding into it, then dropping it when it no longer serves them. That was dangerous and unprofessional in the first place, especially if the players didn't consent to that thirst trappy type content being released. "BookTok did you like this one? 😏" No. Just...ew.
Last take on this I swear, but @thoughtswgracie was so intolerable to me. Just because you are a public influencer does not mean that sexual/hateful comments should be normalized. It should be expected as that happens to most people, but the narrative that you should deal with it, that's what happens and you're not allowed to complain, is dangerous in itself because you're telling people not to speak up for themselves and set boundaries. "Do you see me complaining?" is a weird take because everyone has a different tolerance for those kinds of comments and are ALLOWED to not like that and act against it.
Anyways, amazing video, and have a good day to everyone who read this mini essay LMAOO

You’re exactly right, this is coomer behavior. I’ve known and heard stories about men so deep into porn addiction that they view women as just sex objects, which results in stalking, harassment, and assault. While I do read smut I do it sparingly and still view these men as people, but I can’t imagine reading it nearly everyday in every book I buy, to the point where I can’t enjoy anything unless it has explicit content in it. Men are allowed to feel vulnerable and exploited, yes the Krakens made an error in judgement assuming the “thirst traps” would remain harmless online (that is based in patriarchy and the assumption that women can’t be sexually violent which is untrue). You mentioned that you’re not sure if the players can hear the chants… during warmups, if you’re up at the glass, they can hear your conversations. So the girls filming warmups and screaming “crack my back” and making other inappropriate comments are making players uncomfortable for sure.
Also, Felicia mentioned in her statement that the OG video was being sent to her and Alex almost daily, so I understand why she’s speaking up “four months later”.

There is literally no connection between the kraken supporting her behavior and Felicia being uncomfortable by it. Wenneberg is a professional athlete signed to the Kraken and that’s it. When it comes to his personal life and his family’s life it doesn’t fucking matter that his job supported this. That honestly just looks worse for the krakens social media team and I hope they address this and support and protect their player.

It’s very unserious that ppl believe or treat public figure like they’re not allowed to have any boundaries, and when said public figures tell ppl to respect their boundaries ppl start tweaking out about it, it’s a weird level of entitlement and parasocialism, like these ppl are REAL they’re not characters in a story

It was so icky to even watch the original videos. Smut should be kept to fictional characters and when you start hypersexualizing REAL people, it’s gone way too far.

The moment his wife and him said they were uncomfortable Kierra should've apologized and deleted the tiktoks. Idk why anybody bothers trying to have a discourse around it. They were clearly okay with the jokes to some extent but it got out of hand and they spoke out which they had every right to do. I don't get why people bring up that the hockey players posted thirst traps as a way to defend Kierra, like yes they consented to posting thirst traps, they didn't consent to being catcalled and other stuff. People need to start understanding basic consent!

People overwhelmingly cross the line on social media. I can find someone attractive without feeling the need to make a sexual comment on their content. I had a video go viral and turned off the comments because the sexualization of me/my job was disgusting. I do however feel like women tend to feel justified because “men always do it”. The standard should be the same, we can’t be hypocrites.

The fact that a person, that person of whom you showed the clip, can call them 'emotional', because they got sexually harrassed is just sad. They act like they asked for it.. so sad to hear this type of speech. Also why is the book tokker that also sexually harassed the hockey player screaming all of the time? It doesn't make the sexual harassment any less harassment.. but maybe thats just my view

Something that I think no one really realises is how almost always in these cases, the wives/female partners are the ones who speak out first because male athletes have normalised their sexualization to a really sad point where they probably don't even see an issue unless someone points it out.
It's really upsetting how our patriarchal double standard can be so obvious yet it's not seen because admitting to it, makea you guilty of sexual harassment and being a perverted creep.
Also, what's the whole thing about them 'attacking a black woman'? Race has nothing to do with this, you are a perverted person for sexualising a real human being, not only on the internet but in real life with other people (including children) surrounding you, your skin colour has absolutely nothing to do with it.

I have been on BookTok for years now, and I feel like people started thinking that saying these kinds of things was okay is because they have been saying stuff like that about fictional characters for such a long time.
What these people do not realize is that it's different when it's a real person. This is straight-up harassment, and even though I have not participated in this, I feel awful all the same since it was my community doing this.
The point that Angelica made about "if the roles were reversed" might ruffle some feathers but it's still true. Sorry, it just is. Leave the guy and his family alone.

People who are into fanfiction about real life people freak me out. If you think Batman is hot and express it its completely fine because he is not a real person who could see it and feel violated. But these people seem to think that their "characters" aren't fictional, they are real people and can have very real and awful feelings about the sexual stuff you're hurling about them
