Thank you so much. You answered a lot of my questions. The first time I looked through your playlist I didn’t see this video so I posted questions in a video from a day or so ago.
You didn’t mention anything about calorie counting, so I wonder if you are able to comment on this topic. I love dietitian Julieanna Hever and really appreciate her work on mindfulness and stopping eating when you are 80% full, but so far I’m not good at judging this and I really want to get rid of the extra weight I’ve gained since my non-Hashimoto hypothyroidism was diagnosed.
My doctor said just what you did about iodine consumption and living in the mountains ❤; she did not mention the day-long collection of urine to measure iodine levels, but I will ask her about that. She prescribed vegan sushi once a week and has me on a low-dose of iodine supplement, but I would feel better with the test you mentioned.
I am just under 5 foot three and would love to hear what you have to say about calorie intake. I am so glad I found you and your great channel!

Hi! I would recommend using the TDEE calculator (tdeecalculator.net) and then decreasing calories by 100 or so. Then focus on higher protein foods and aim to get 1 to 1.4 grams of protein daily for your ideal weight. For example, you are 63" and let's say your TDEE is 1800 (which is the number of calories to maintain the current weight based on gender, age, and activity level). Then focus on 1700 calories per day and whatever the grams of protein end up being. I have an entire low glycemic high protein plant based meal plan I give as part of one of my programs. Works like a charm.

@@DrLaurieMarbas Thank you! That’s a thousand calories more than I have been eating for a long time and weight loss is still slow. Will give it a try. I have very strong willpower but I am tired of being hungry all the time.

Unfortunately, whole food and plant based foods makes my stomach so inflamed and I feel worse after eating.

I'm 3.5 min in and if I hear you say 'right?'one more time I'll quit listening. I hate that useless habit. Who started it anyway?
