Dude I'm completely freaked out my mom's friend tested positive and then she was at my house for like 15 mins and now she's having symptoms and of course it's hitting me as well 😬 I feel like something is like blocking my breathing but my oxygen is 99perct so I'm assuming it's anxiety but this covid stuff Is scary I never believed it was real and never thought I would catch it but I think I have it and I'm terrified
If anyone needs some hope I just want to let you know I loss my sense of smell and taste from Covid.....but after 2-3 days, I slowly got my taste back then eventually some of my sense of smell followed. Today is day 6 & I can fully smell again. Your senses WILL come back, I PROMISE! I was scared at first reading some of the comments, but stayed positive and continued to smell random things daily. Any whiffs of scent is a good sign it’s coming back. I hope everyone gets well soon 💕
I just found out I lost my taste & smell today & it’s terrifying.. I tasted some chilli 🌶 & NOTHING. I ran to my perfume to smell it & burst into tears when I realised I couldn’t smell it at all.. 🥺😭💔 I don’t even want to eat anything anymore because it’s just a strange & scary experience now. I feel like i’m grieving for my senses. 🤧💔 UPDATE: It's been just over a week since I've recovered from Covid and 90% of my smell is back along with taste! I've just been continuously nose training everyday! No medicines, just let your body regenerate, I PROMISE !!
Day 9 for me now, today is finally the day where I have a noticeable improvement of smell/taste. It’s definitely not 100% yet, more like 30%, which is definitely an improvement. I wonder if getting it back slowly is a good precursor to getting it back fully...
I know the feeling. It started to affect my mental state. I cried all day long because of not being able to smell. I can taste certain things but I wish I could smell again 😔
Let’s be positive! Trust me crying won’t help! I let it out but I started reading more on how to get it back. Gotta of course take the vitamin C‘s vitamin D, zinc lots of water teas your soups. Smell things that you are familiar with and practice that. If you cant handle spicy they say spicy is good to, those cough halls. Whatever you’re familiar with get back to smelling and tasting it again. The more we stay positive the more it comes back mine is slowly coming back I’m starting to smell certain things again and taste again. The vapor steam really helps as well
Day 10 for me and I just got my smell back...taste is still very faint. Hang in there though everyone. The last 10 days were very hard, you don’t realize what you have until it’s gone.
i'm so worried about this smell/taste issue. i never really enjoyed food but you dont realize what you'll miss until its gone. its like im eating with my nose pinched shut. i can sort of taste sweet but thats it. i hope this isnt permanent. ive got some essential oils im doing the smell training with Edit: It's coming back!! I was eating dinner and started to taste the burnt part of my beef. I blew my nose and got a wiff of something. I got my oils and smelled everything. It's not back at 100%, i have to put them real close, but i can smell again. i also am tasting my orange juice now. omg so happy.
Im 4 days no taste or smell it sucks. 8 days total since symptoms started. First couple days no smell was whatever im eating mostly soup anyway, but man im really starting to miss it. I am the cook in my household so its kinda scary not being able to taste.
My taste was lost completely for like a week and then it started coming back slowly. My smell started to come back first, then my taste. Don’t worry y’all, I know it really sucks to not be able to taste anything, but trust me, you’ll get your taste and smell back.
I am so happy I can finally smell and taste again after two months of lost of taste and smell. Dr ehisz on RUclips cured me from loss of taste and smell. Dr ehisz is a Godsent
Just to spread some positivity, I lost my taste and smell from Covid and I would have literal anxiety attacks because I was reading so much negative commentary about people not getting theirs back. Mine came back faintly after 10 days...and each day it got better. It’s been a month and I can say I’m back at about 80%. BE PATIENT. I promise you’ll be okay. Also, if you have prolonged loss of smell, visit an ENT doctor. Covid gave me a sinus infection and I had no idea. And it was blocking all my senses. Once I got the right medication, it all came back very quickly. Drink water, take zinc and vitamin D. And again, patience is key! ☺️
Thank you SO much for this...I literally had an anxiety attack 20mins ago about not be able to taste food...will I ever be able to enjoy the taste of food again?! Reading your post has helped calmed me down to a mild panic
I was not able to smell or taste anything for 2 weeks after I was tested positive for covid. During those two weeks, I did steam inhalation daily and also took Vitamin C and Zinc tablets which were really effective. During the third week, I was able to smell strong smelling substances like deo, nail polish, camphor, etc and I got my smell and taste back gradually. It's been a month now and both my senses have been restored back to normal. I can smell and taste 100% now 😊 . Wishing everybody a speedy recovery 😁
im on my 3rd day and still cant smell or taste but I do steaming and eating oranges tho, unfortunately, haven't see any progress yet. what should I do?
It's been 5 days Being isolated at home , Taking Meds , Eat more healthy food , trying to think positive and pray and now I'm glad to have more knowledge to make my self better 🙏
@@miamalkova2975 the loss of these senses alone is not fatal, but the inability to detect dangers, like smoke or gas leakage or stale food might be potentially life threatening. Oh, and interest in food deteriorates.
I've never realized how bless I was to have sense of smell and taste. Losing it due to covid really made me so much more appreciative of what I have. Update : everything returned back after about 2 months. It gradually returns to you if you're worried, so don't be. And now I'm definitely feeling its 100 back%. Alhamdulilah.
I lost my smell and taste for almost a week. It slowly started to come back. I am almost at day 10 and still have headaches, nausea and body aches. Congestion just won’t go away either. I am over this!
I’m on day 3 of no taste or smell, I’m going crazy but I’m trying to keep the faith. I know it’ll come back, and I want to give others encouragement as well. Our senses will come back by the grace of God! 💖🙏🏾
@@praydriven8409 don’t worry, I’m on day 10 now, and I’m about 40% back to normal as far as taste and smell. Just give it time! Your senses will come back
What sucks is I still don’t have my taste or smell back yet & it’s almost like it becomes normal like you get used to it. Like I love enchiladas and my brain remembers what enchiladas taste like, but the actually sense of tasting it is gone so I can’t tell if I’m getting better or just remembering what it taste like from memory. Weird
Omg this is how I am too. I lost my sense of smell in November and sometimes I think it's better but then I think it's actually from memory. Baby oil used to smell pretty strong and nice, now I can smell it, but it's a light scent.
@@alyssaalexandria1999 my sense of smell is not normal yet. It has been 2 months. I can smell something only if I put it up to my nose and even then it doesn't smell how I remember.
@@GueroyPrncess05 that’s how my cousin is. He rested and was negative but his senses aren’t back and we couldn’t figure out if he still had it or if it were a case of he’s negative but still had some side effects due to Covid
When you lose the sense of smell flavors go with that so if you can still taste salty, sweet, bitter, etc you haven’t lost your taste just your smelling as they go hand in hand while eating. Have patience with your body, you will overcome this.✨
I am a "long hauler". I tested positive back in March. I didn't track my symptoms day by day, but it was getting worse everyday. I had almost every symptom. I ended up going to the ER, intubated for 3 weeks, and staying in the hospital for 5 weeks(3 of the 5 in ICU COVID unit) I had ARDS and bilateral pneumonia. I didn't think I was going to get a severe case.. my other coworkers had milder cases.. but 1 passed away from COVID. Everyone please be safe consider the people around you may get a severe case and not make it. ❤
Maybe everyone who’s deeply concerned that they may catch a severe reaction should quarantine indefinitely or until vaccines reaches them. Others should go on with life at their own risk as it always has been with any other contagious diseases that’s been around. I don’t feel it’s fair to stall someone’s freedom and liberties or burden them with someone else’s health or a chance that someone may get sick! It’s unfair! I work third shift but I don’t expect my neighbors to tiptoe around their apartment just so I could sleep 8 to late afternoon just so I can get proper rest! Many Americans work 3rd shift so imagine we make everyone start tiptoeing in the afternoon!? It’s not fair. I take issue to people telling strangers to think of others by pretending to be sick!🤨
@@neverbeforeseenlove3834 you know, it’s funny you asked ... this just dawned on me, that honestly, I can’t say! I started noticing I couldn’t smell/taste about 2 weeks ago and luckily I got those senses back early on. It’s possible my symptoms weren’t so bad but olfactory training early on helped me. I also read that a good fish oil helps with inflammation and I have been taking them every day. I was very anxious when I got these Covid symptoms, but I want everyone to know, they will come back. Just relax and be patient.
I have covid and lost my sense of smell and taste completely. It's still early days, but unless you've experienced it, it's almost unimaginable. I don't even want to eat anymore. Really hoping they return soon. I'll certainly have a new-found appreciation for them.
Day 15. No smell or taste. Unreal. This is the craziest thing ever.😷😷😷😷 Recap been about 38 days. About 25 percent back. But hit a road block. Seems like its not gonna come back fully. Nothing taste or smells like it use to.😷😷😷😷
@@forr3st125 nope nothing. Shit is scary. Im on day 16. I know someone on day 23. I hope it comes back soon. The scary thing is that this virus was leaked on purpose in the United States everyone seems to be forgetting about that. Until it comes to your living room then it's really scary
It's exactly 2 months now for me and it has only gotten slightly better. I can smell things I ate a lot for the last weeks but other than that still nothing. Pretty annoying
@@ronh1522 just hang in there. I was pretty depressed the first few days but I got used to it actually. There are a few things like oranges or salmon that I can taste almost normally but "new" things I can't taste. But I am not giving up and I will try the olfactory training for sure👍
I know what you’re feeling. On my day 3, I lost my sense of smell and taste. It’s frustrating but I helped my brain in identifying different smells that I used to know. Before I smell it, i keep on repeating to myself what it is called and how it used to smell and taste. Chances are, you might not be able to smell or taste it at the beginning but you just have to repeat the process in the day for several days. On day 14, I finally git my sense of taste and smell back. All these things, I’ve done with prayers. And He helped me :). I’m pretty sure, you’ll regain yours. Just be patient :)
Girl, yes! When I couldn't smell my own poop it suddenly got real, lol. I love to cook but there was no point since I couldn't smell or taste anything. I felt the stinging of spicy foods but no taste. Before I lost those senses I was struck with body chills, almost uncontrollable. And body aches. But never a fever or breathing problems. I do drink green tea about every night with honey. I know damn well I got it from work. Nobody asked for clearance from a doctor to go back to work.
Being able to regain my sense of smell back, I couldn't be just any more happy with my life. You'll never realize how important they are until they're already gone, so you must appreciate God that you have complete working organs and senses
9 days in and I’m starting to get my sense of smell and taste back! I took Zinc, Vitamin B1 (Benfotiamine), Vitamin A, Vitamin D3, Multivitamins & Alpha Lipoid Acid. For my nose I inhaled Olbas Oil & use a nasal spray everyday. Even though I thought I was doomed, It really worked wonders for me! Still not there yet but a massive improvement and there’s light at the end of tunnel! Stay strong people 👍
im 17 and i really dont care, this is nothing compared to what some people go through like chronic tinnitus, blindness, deafness so not being able to smell or taste really is on the less important side.
Thanks for this video! And reading the comments I realized I’m not alone missing my smell and taste although today for the first time in 16 days I was able to smell something thank God! it’s not back yet but man it really got me excited! Stay safe everyone and I hope for you all to recover soon
Just some words of hope, im on my 3rd day of no smell or taste, however my sense of smell is starting to return. I still don't have taste but my smell is starting to improve. Whoever is going through this, your senses will return and I will pray for you! Update: My taste is coming back, and I can smell better. Ok so I’m another person who’s gonna try and spread some positivity to those who are suffering right now. I tested positive for COVID on the first of December. Lost my smell the next day following with my taste. I was miserable! Anxiety driven…. today is day 7 of losing my smell and last night I noticed I was able to finally get a whiff of some perfume. Today, my smell is stronger and so is taste! I’d say I’m at about 40% of having my smell back and I couldn’t be more grateful. I know it’s still gonna take a little bit before I’m back to smelling and tasting 100% but I’m so thankful! Please stay strong and believe you will get your senses back! Try smell training everyday and keep as positive an attitude as you can. My heart goes out to you all ❤️🙏🏽
It’s been 3 days since I tested positive and lost my smell and taste so I am hoping and praying for a speedy recovery but from the positivity in the comments I am keeping my head up, it’s really reassuring🙏🏽 stay safe everyone🤍
Hang in there everyone. I also lost my taste and smell but it’s slowly coming back. Just be patient. Something that I think helped me was boiling eucalyptus leafs and letting the steam hit my face and breathing in the steam. It’s a good home remedy
Hi there, I'm definitely inspired to try the smell therapy with you!! I'm on day 7 since my first covid symptom, but I just found out my positive test result last night. The body aches were not fun, but the loss of taste and smell really is getting me down!!! Other than that, I am just a little more tired. It does help my moral in some strange way knowing that we are all going thru this together!! Be well!!
Thanks for the suggestions for smell therapy. When I was first diagnosed with Covid and the sense of taste and smell went away, it was discouraging. I realized my craving for raspberries was not productive. The senses are starting to return. I too am taking baby steps in the right direction. I found salt was one of the first things I tasted.

Today is my day 4, when I woke up today, it was the same (no smell), then after one hour I guess I smelled my air freshener (just a tiny bit) which is rose one, I bought it 2 days ago after finding out that rose is good for getting the smell back. I have been drinking lemon, ginger, garlic and honey tea since yesterday and I think this works as well. Today i got hope that I will be smelling and tasting again and I wish all the best to everyone suffering from the same problem. Don’t lose your hope guys I’m sure it will come back.
I got my sense of taste and smell back alittle after two weeks. I did smell training and steamed my face with oils everyday. Your smell and taste will come back!
To anyone freaking out: I am starting to get mine back. I am jumping from happiness! Today is actually 14 days since I lost it. I got a whiff of my coffee, my gatorade, peanut butter and eucalyptus sanitizer. I can’t smell everything, but the things I do, I can smell slightly!! Be patient. Just wanted to give some of the long-haulers hope. Got covid, lost completely for 3 weeks. Then, my smell recovered a little bit to about 15% of normal with some “parasomia” (coffee smelled like burnt toast it’s true!). It stayed about the same level (very faint) until day 50-55 then finally I had a breakthrough and it jumped to about 60-70% of what it was and coffee finally smells like coffee again. Its still not 100% recovered but at least I know my smell system is healing slowly and yours will too. I did not try any smell training although it probably would have helped, I just wanted to share my story and give others who are also long-haulers some hope

Mark Naval yes actually have my taste and smell back took about two weeks . I didn’t really drink a lot of hot stuff as people but I did take vitamin C & D and Zinc tablets. Also my case wasn’t sever maybe that’s why it came back faster .
Naomi, can you give me an idea on how your not severe was? I'm on day 2 only and so far I have had worse flu cases than this. I am hoping it's not the calm before the storm. I know it's still early days and besides my fatigue and slight sensitive lungs, oh and like almost hungry nausea feeling, I have actually even wondered if I might have had a false positive. Not that I am complaining or wanting to get sick. Would just like to hear if anyone else might have had such less than mild cases?? Would really like to hear your reply

I'm on day 5 with Covid and lost my smell and taste on the 3rd day. On the 2nd day, it was slowly diminishing. I'm also 13 weeks pregnant and unvaccinated. I've had a fever, chills, and body ache the 1st day. On the 2nd day, I still had the same symptoms, then started to get nasal congestion and chest pain that lasted for a few minutes and never returned. On day 3, I began to lose my smell and taste. Then on day 4, I lost it completely. Now, on day 5, I still don't have my smell or taste; I have had shortness of breath that lasted for a few hours, then it stopped. It sucks not being able to smell or taste while pregnant. The smell isn't my biggest concern because it would trigger my morning sickness. It's the taste I miss the most. So far, the only thing I crave is spicy soup because I can feel the spice.

I have finished 1 week since I lost taste and smell, it seems the smell is coming back faster than taste, slowly it's coming back, but you have to train your senses all day if you want it back fast, start smelling strong odurs, concentrate and imagine how the smell in your mind while smelling, do that all day, different things like, orange peels, ginger, garlic, your senses will come back faster, even apply this while tasting, chwlew very slowly and try to imagine it's taste in mind and try hard to taste it through your buds, do this everyday you will get taste also back pretty fast, for tasting I used chocolate and lemons. Use the power of mind and concentration, it will regenerate the damaged cells.👍 Hope you get well soon bye

Hello, I am so glad I found this video about your COVID experience. I came down with a really bad head cold which I was going to dismiss as a summer cold, but I wanted to rule out Covid-19, so I went to the emergency room to get tested, and this was on day 3 when my symptoms were going away. I had no fever and a chest x-ray showed no negative signs but was given a prescription for Benzonatate. The test (nasal swab) came back positive to my surprise. The NP said she did not want to prescribe Paxlovid because of the mild symptoms. So, I am isolating for 5 days or until I'm well. Thank you again for these very good tips.

Thank you Lord i smell and taste again after 4 days... ...🙏🙏🙏 Lord Heal ... for suffering Lost of smell.. ..
I haven’t gotten tested for COVID but was exposed to someone with COVID and I lost my smell and taste two days ago right before Christmas. Pretty annoying
Use the power of mind and concentration, it will regenerate the damaged cells.👍 Hope you get well soon bye
same here!!

I don’t ever rarely comment but i got covid on a Monday and after a a few days i lost my taste and smell. 7 days later i got my sense of smell and taste back. YOU WILL BE OKAY! Just be strong, positive, and most importantly patient and your taste and smell will be back! I took theraflu, inhaled vicks in hot water every night, and smelled cologne and other strong scents to gain some smell back. Sending prayers your way and i know you will be okay!
I lost my taste and smell the first week of July I’m now going towards 7 months and still no recovery. Most frustrating thing is that all these “Einstein” doctors and scientists have made vaccines blah blah but have not came up or even gave a damn about fixing the loss of smell and taste as if it’s no big deal for people to lose 2 senses they’ve had their entire life’s and rely on. 😡
That’s exactly what I was just saying. I haven’t had mine in over a month it’s really depressing and I’m losing a ton of weight cause I don’t wanna eat as much. I hope you get yours back soon and I really hope mine doesn’t last that long
Take lemon water 3 times a day half an hour before every meal.

Been eating pretzels all day for 4 days. Only food I can taste Pretzels and M&Ms. Everything else tastes like wet cardboard.
I still can’t smell or taste but I put some Eucalyptus oil on some cotton wool and I can smell it faintly. I don’t want to put it down, I have never been so grateful to smell anything in my life. I hope everyone gets their senses back soon x

Day 6 for me now 0 smell 0 taste... It's depressing the crap out of me! I had it rough and still do. They call All this "mild" symptoms my ass. It's one of the worst ones to me
Hello, I am so glad I found this video about your COVID experience.
