This is the stuff you think about 20-40 years from now and still smile. Nothing better than a good friend and a good adventure. Thanks to both of you for sharing this and showing folks you really can make a video without cussing every breath!
I appreciate the comment, and definitely looking forward to doing more
WOW NICE TRUE ADVENTURE!
Thanks guys.
I appreciate the comment 🙏
I enjoyed your video. I also enjoy doing trips in my Jon Boats. I'm planning to head over to Florida in November to do a trip from Miami to the Bahamas and points south through the Caribbean. I run a 16' Weldbilt with a 40 hp tiller steer Tohatsu. I've also done trips across the US - 2,244 miles, Arctic - 2,000 miles and Inside Passage to Alaska - 2,405 miles. My longest single day was over 300 miles.
I have seen your videos setting the record, and it kinda inspired this whole trip. I would love to attempt to break your record one day or at least go all the way down the Mississippi.
Wow. Those sound like amazing adventures
Cool trip. Inspiring me to take one. Straight off the Jon boat in to Ruth Chris was hilarious!
Haha, I'm glad you like it 😄
What a great adventure. I hope someday to take my son on the same trip someday and make memories.
It's an amazing trip, and will be worth the time for sure.
That looked like alot of fun .
It was a blast ,ready for another trip soon ,subscribe for more going to try and do 1 trip ever 3 months
@@CarsandFarmsalready a sub. nice I'll be watching
Awesome video, most people try to hard and it ruins the video. You’re defiantly a natural behind the camera. Keep more videos like this coming, great job!
Thank you! I will try my best ,I appreciate the comment
Great video guys. Love the passing kayaks 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Haha, we thought it was funny
I grew up in Palatka. Lost a foot control for a trolling motor close to that bridge. That is Seminole Electric. It’s a coal fired power plant. Most people think it’s nuclear because of its cooling towers. Kinda cool stumbling on your video and seeing this. I miss the St. John’s river and the surrounding areas.
It's a beautiful river ,and I knew it was some sort of power plant. also always heard of the paper mill up there
Excellent video - Thanks!
I appreciate it 😁
Post more content like this. This was adventurous
Will do, got a few videos coming and then working on plans for another boat trip
Thirsty 2 stroke. Great trip
Hopefully, I will have a 4 stoke for it one day. Lol
300 miles in a jon boat! Y'all are crazy; i got to watch and subscribe to these fools! No disrespect! 😉
Haha, none taken ,if this keep doing good ,we have some ideas for about 2 more trips
@@CarsandFarmsI'm here for it man! 😊
I appreciate the support and comment
Great trip. Good commentary and narration. Eating at swanky high priced Ruth’s Chris steakhouse and then sleeping outside on the dirt in a tent. That might be a first. I have done about 150 miles of the St. John’s in my kayak.
We figured we had to treat are self's alittle lol
I love it! I've stumbled into many a fine establishment dusty from the trail and famished. The locals don't always appreciate that I bring with me the sights and smells of nature, but a gourmet meal at the end of a hard adventure is key!
70hp Evinrude. (Be thankful it is.) Great video. Really enjoyed it.
Haha ya I mess up and called it a mercury. lol we been thinking about replacing it with a 60 hp 4 stroke mercury
@@CarsandFarms Well, the 3-cylinder 50-60-70-75 Evinrude and Johnsons are some of the best outboards ever made. Your video is a great example of that - and is a testimony to how good they are. Thanks again.
Ya I'm very impressed by it 300 miles no problem, we did just loose the fuel pump on it on the last fishing trip tho lol
Enjoyed the video. I would like to run the entire St John some day, maybe when I retire in a few years.
Its a nice, easy trip. I appreciate the comment
Used to take fishing trips to the st johns. Usex to go to salt springs and silver glen springs. Got caught in a severe storm in lake george once actually sunk the boat but we were smart and got it to really shallow water so it bottomed out and bilged the water out got lucky i still remembet trips ovef 25 yrs ago. Miss my dad
Ya, Lake george can get bad when we get those pop up thunderstorms .
Grampa always said when the rain dries on ya' you can just brush it off😁
That's a good saying
Nice adventure!
It was a good one 👍, ready for the next
I havecbeen on the st johns many times such a pretty river
It sure is
Lived on a boat for over 21 years from 2000 to 2021 in Jacksonville and Fernandina Beach. Now live by the Mullet Lake ramp. Done the trip from Jax to Sanford and Fernandina Beach to New Smyrna but on a 43 ft boat
Probably alittle more comfortable than a jon boat lol
the glasses peeking out from behind the shades threw me for a second
Bhahah they fit really well like that for some reason, if I get a prescription pair I would lose them in about 3 weeks lol
Nice video
Check out gone country hats there in orlando . Think you’ll love them . Great folks
I will check them out for sure
Cool bee keeper
I try to be
Very cool to see I’ve done the Jacksonville to silver Glenn on jet skis going 50-60 mph the entire way but to cruise and relax on a job boat would be fun looks like you did great for fuel economy though 👌 cool content got a subscript out of me 😂
Ya it was a great trip for sure got a south florida fishing trip for exotic fish I'm filming soon and a scalloping trip ,so trying to keep the content coming ,I appreciate the sub and support
New subscriber here. Just have to say I love the boating content. Yall should def keep up with that type of videos. Along with maybe fixing and getting boats to run and what have ya. Anyways keep up the great work and much love to ya guys from Maryland❤❤❤.
We are out peacock bass fishing as I speak. Be a few weeks, but we will get a video up soon
Hell yea thats what's up brother. Have fun and be safe looking forward to the next video
I appreciate it. I got a handful of dedicated fans now. Welcome to the club
.I hide under bridges for storms and stop to fish ! Wasn't going to mention no see ums just for that reasin, over at Rodman same deal, not good. You deserved that meal !
Beat place to hide in a florida pop up storm
@@CarsandFarms That loop is my decades old dream trip for most FL older guys since a teen ! Thanks for that ! I My vision took a week, lol.
I want to do the great loop but in an old wood boat
My stomping ground
Better mileage as you go and burn fuel weight off 🤙 this is an advantage I’d like to tackle myself
Ya, we ended up with about 7 gallons of extra fuel the first day and about 12 the second day ,we sure didn't want to run out
@@CarsandFarms looks like a sweet trip, stay safe brother 🇺🇸
I appreciate the comment and support 👍
lol fuel power plant? Thats nuclear man.
Explains the people in Palatka
I did this trip in Push and Row
That is way harder lol
Looks like a fun trip, so do you have a 70hp Merc or a 40hp Evinrude? You said 70 Merc but at 28:48 it’s a 40hp Evinrude
Haha, ya was a little confused it's a 70 evinrude with a 40 hp sticker .for river with a hp restrictions ,we wanted to put a mercury on it but this one still works way to well.
What size jon boat is that?
I chopped my Bimini top so when I sat down driving the boat
Cool idea
I wanted to do this for years but somehow only end up with canoes lol
Haha, just add a motor, and you're good to go
That's custom bubba
How are you getting 30 miles per tank? .... I get MAYBE 6 miles with a 6gal tank
Haha, I have no idea we were expecting a lot worse miles per gallon
I like going far in boats on water!!😅
Bhahah only real boater like crazy long trips
What size and model of jon boat is that?
16 55 lowe roughneck
@@CarsandFarms I have 2 roughnecks
1860 with a 60 merc
and a 2070 with a 70 Honda
love them both,
Would love to make that trip, Have done from highland park to Palatka a couple times, have a house in DeLand and in Palatka
Awsome, they are great boats, and we fish out of Highland a lot to .go see my brother in law David he get you on the fish
Why did my comment disappear? I put tons of info about a trip you guys should take on the Ocklawaha River/ Cross Florida Barge Canal with GPS locations and all and now it is gone. You might want to check the setting on your YT page.
I looked and didn't see anything, but that does sound like an awesome trip. Go to my Facebook and send me a message there @carsandfarms
@@CarsandFarms I left the comment with the info on your 300 mile boat trip post on FB. Maybe it was the 24 hour clock times or the GPS coordinates in my comment that made it disappear. I know some people that set their YT channel to not keep any comments with web addresses in them and they disappear.
It's google/youtube they for some reason remove alot of my comments all the time I been going back and checking and they been removed.i think it's BS they do this in other comments and channels I noticed others are talking about them removing their comments.
What size is your boat?
16 55
Well there are 24 hours in a day.
So talk about hours not days.
Same goes for those claiming to make very long car trips in one day.
If we would not have stopped to sleep or eat, we could have done the whole trip in 24 hrs.
What phone app is that?
I'm not sure ,what ever was top on the apple store, lol
What gps is that you’re using?
That was an iPhone running Google maps and a GPS app to track our miles
@@CarsandFarms what was the GPS app? I really like the layout of it
I'm not sure it was one of the top ones on Google play tho lol
Uhhhh, not a Merc boss man, you'd be better off if it was
Haha, I had mercurys. On my mind, that day, lol
What’s the deal with having 40hp stickers on a 70hp motor?
Hp lake restrictions from the previous owner . Away around the system lol
The way you keep mispronouncing DeLand, florida is driving me crazy.
What can I say, I can't talk lol
You said it had a 70hp mercury 2 stroke and it had a 40hp evinrude 2 stroke
Haha, yep, I made a mistake. we have been wanting to swap to a 4 stroke mercury for better fuel mileage
Nice trip!
Thanks, it was awesome. I look forward to trying some more in the future
