You're good... No YOU'RE REALLY GOOD. I'm very new to lure making and painting and I've been looking for someone who includes realism in their lures, well I'm definitely subscribing and can't wait to see more of your work. I can't believe that I've not seen you before on RUclips, I've found you through Pinterest of all places!!! Excellent work my friend and worthy of BIG THUMBS UP ALL DAY LONG 👍😷👍
Very nice work. You need a silent compressor my friend. 😂 When I used to airbrush Tshirts the Craftsman 1-1/2 hp compressor would kick on and I would almost jump and mess up what I was painting because the noise startles you. I have a Badger Million Air silent compressor that I used for plastic modeling for years. It would be great for lures. I may have to give it a try. 😉
I wish you would share paint colors and web sites where we can purchase the correct paints. Plus trying to find the next video showing the lure final finish. I have enjoyed your video’s and keep up the great work. Thanks
Great paint today. Got me wanting an airbrush to repaint baits that I have gotten out of the clearance bin. Not that I can paint great patterns like you do, but I think I can give them a dark back and a lighter belly. Lol. My home lake isn’t clear water. When it clears up in the summer most people still think its muddy. In the winter running the boat looks like you should be dropping seeds
Nice tutorial. Been thinking of trying my hand at a few custom painted baits. Little diversion from my fine art airbrushing. Just sold Russ Allen two of my airbrushes. Great guy.
Hey man lol 5 years later still have new people watching . Newb here asking for help see how you just spray paint and it’s smooth on the body just bought my new spray and when I try applying a coat it’s wet and I can’t spray or it’s starts dripping any help if your still on RUclips would really help me out
Wow! You did an excellent job! That is amazing! I wonder if you put the net around the gill before touching up the nose with the final black, if it wouldn't pop even more. I wish I could paint like that. Great vid!!
On the comart yellow and the green what would a substitute be in createx paint. I was thinking the green I could use the wicked candy apple green but not sure on the yellow. I have entered a couple of those contests. Never felt I could compete with some of yall but I did it anyway.
Beautiful work! I fly fish and use a Copic system to paint the popper heads. Have you ever used the Copic system? I would love to see a video tutorial on it.
Im New to airbrushing...Awesone work!!What is the paint called that you stated should always have to darken the top and sides? Was it sepia and what is the link to buy it?
First time watching your channel. I just was wondering if you make the baits or if you buy them unpainted? I will be subscribing to your channel. I like what I see
Love watching your videos. I want to start painting my own lures and have no experience airbrushing. Can you recommend a good affordable airbrush kit? Thank you
I think this is about as realistic a bluegill as one can expect with an airbrush. I made some squarebills that I wanted to paint in this pattern and followed you video. All was going well until I got to the texturing. I cant find that glitter fabric anywhere. I tried to improvise and well I will have to completely repaint my test subject. Any suggestions as far as that texturing step goes?

Have you ever tried using rust-oleum as a base layer, figured you can buy 1qt for $10 and thin it down to save money spent on paint? Do you think it would work?
Fantastic work!!! could tell me if there is another name for the deep CB that you used in the walleye video I,m having trouble finding them. Look in stores from china and US just can't seem to find it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
@@luremeincustompaintedcrank3818 I’m wondering the same thing, can’t find this stuff. Is it a big fabric or is it sold as a little ribbon roll? Thanks for the vid!

Wondering if you could help out. Looking to get into spraying. What is a good base of colors to get? To do something similar to this bait how important is the brands used?
do you paint any trout color baits i would like to see your take on it, this is about the same pattern i use except i tent to black out the back on mine and get a little darker on the sides with sepia to match the gills in my area
Very nice work I just painted my first couple days ago so very new. I used the neo brush do you clean yours after every color? And do you have to use a reducer? My bottles say to and I use createx for now prob gunna switch to testors. I cut mine on a lathe do you do that or buy molded ones?
I was referring to the screw eyes that the hooks attach to I noticed u have them on through the whole process wasn’t sure if it’s better to do that or screw them in after clearing
B halbert They aren’t screwed in. They are built in during the body assembly at the factory. Can not be removed. Paint won’t stick to the metal. If brushing on epoxy it won’t get in them. If you dip your. Air in clear coat you can clear them out with a paper clip before the epoxy cures. If epoxy hardens in the eyes just use an X-acto knife and score around the eyelet then dig out the epoxy out of the eye
Been looking at your videos for a while. Like your patterns and the way you teach. Have a question-what did you wrap the bait in before you painted it? Thanks
It’s actually called metallic netting. I spent 40 minutes at Joann trying to tell them that it was insisted multiple times that it’s called glitter ribbon. Took them forever to find what I was looking for by that name. Showed her the look of it and she found it right away. Ask for metallic netting. It is not in the ribbon section at all.
I don't paint lures, I don't even fish, but this is great. I paint miniatures as a hobby. This gives me a lot of ideas. Thanks for making it!
You are like the Bob Ross of fishing lures. I am with ya, then I think you jacked it up, then you amaze me. Learning a lot. Great videos!
I’m a fan I just started painting watching Jekyll baits and it inspired me too starting painting. She talks fondly of you and now a see why. AMAZING

Thanks, one question please, I never see you clean your airbrush. Good show
look at 8:50 where he is cleaning the airbrush
Just left you a sub, amazing video! 👍
Excellent paint job. Not sure if I'm sold on the gill plate. Does not blend well with the rest of the lure
Damn that's a work of art. How long did it take you to get to that level? Also where did you get the little vice to hold bait?
The "helping hands" he has in this video is from Menards, but you can get them from Amazon also.
Where can I find a vice like that
Can u do a Top water popper? ??
Loved your video!! Where do you get your lure bodies?
I boiled my hair clips in water for a couple minutes then set a weight on them to cool. Distortion is minimal.
