The Ultimate Lego Phone Mount Tutorial (for Lego stop motion)
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 17 май 2024
- In this video I talk about all the methods of holding my phone for stop motion animation that I have used, ending with a tutorial on how to build the perfect stop motion Lego phone mount of my own design.
5084 pictures taken at 24 FPS. Created on an iPhone 11 ProMax using Stop Motion Studio Pro. Edited video with Adobe premiere pro.
This is the first full video that I have ever animated at 24 FPS. I think it turned out great. While I was working on the shots for The Lego Movie Rebuilt, I was inspired by the style of the animation of the original Lego Movie. The characters had a lot more quick and dramatic movements then I remembered, with some of the characters being animated on 2s and sometimes even 3s or 4s. I wanted to emulate this style in my own stop motions. I am really happy with how it turns out.

The real question is if he was showing us his camera mount, then what did he film with 🤨🤨
Probably a new camera mount
Actually, I just went back to the old phone mount for those shots 😅 it was very annoying!
@@Loft_Studios magic
Bro I was just about to say that 🤣
Real
You know it's a good day when loft uploads on your BIRTHDAY
happy birthday my guy
Happy late birthday🎉🎉🎉
@@satupekkarinen966 even though it is late it is still a good thing to say :)
You know it’s a good day when this guy posts.

Something special about even the technicality of holding the camera being done with LEGO.
Just watched the laser effects tutorial the other day and happy to see a new one. Great vibes!
Honey wake up new loft video just dropped!!!
What an absolute legend.
I love these final two versions, and once I get a lot of free time and parts(💀) I will build a similar one!
So far the good ol' brick built works just fine!!
My phone mount had been the same for almost my whole stopmotion journey, besides my like first 3 animations which had a makeshift mount, my current mount has many issues at the moment though so seeing this reminded me to make a new one, so thanks and keep up the good work!
I never thought technic would be a good phone mount piece.
The legend has uploaded again!
I love your adorable Lego recreation of the tripod. The bumping is too relatable too haha
Really great video and the amount of work put into this is astonishing... plus great music choices and compositions!
I will most definitely consider a Lego phone mount at some point, thanks for this :)
I used to use a big blob of clay to hold my phone but now I built a proper one a while ago which needed fine tuning over time and I’m so proud of it
I know how you feel. There’s nothing like designing something for yourself!
me just watching the smooth animation not even building the mount 👁️🫦👁️
FR THO
This was honestly exactly what I needed. I’ve been looking for a good phone mount for ages! You have saved my sanity.
I’ve REALLY been wanting someone to do a video on a phone mount. So pretty much all my videos close-up shots I’ve been using a Lego mount and it’s been a struggle. This helps so much! Thanks lofty
Great vid Loft!
Lofty you are so underrated that it’s kind of crazy. Your animation is so good and funny and fluid that it makes me feel like I’m watching the Lego movie. Keep up the amazing work
This is fantastic!
I discovered your channel about 2 weeks ago and I love everything I've seen so far. In fact your videos have gotten me back into stop motion. And even though I don’t primarily use my phone for stop motion anymore this is still very useful to know. Great video!
I am hoping to start using an actual camera for Stop Motion as well. And I already have some ideas on how to make a freestanding table mount for my new camera!
@@Loft_Studios Awesome! An actual camera would be really cool. But what I use now is a Logitech webcam so I can get super close to the minifigures without zooming in and losing a lot of the image quality.
Awesome!!!
This Lego Move style of animation just hits so well.
Your videos are always so entertaining!🤣
Today is my birthday :)
Happy birthday!!🎉🎉
🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Happy b day
happy .bday
Happy birthday
Impresive!! Good tutorial 🎉
Thanks for that awesome tutorial! I’m glad to see your making videos again!
This is pretty helpful actually
This is so genius! I use a large tri-pod and brick built stands for my animation. Tri-pod is good for large shoots, or bird eye shoots, but like you said you cant get food and precise angles. I am defiantly going to try and make my own design! Thanks!
I really love these stop-motion tutorials. I hope I can have animation that looks as good as yours someday.
Best stop motion RUclipsr! Love your videos
This is honestly so good
I absolutely LOVE the way you make your videos, keep up the good work.
Brilliant!
2:42 what a dirty table
I love the music, SOO much nostalgia
your phone mount looks great!
I was using a normal phone stand for a long time but since I started to film various height of shots, I started to build a simple phone mount using few lego pieces for each shots
Building mounts is pretty fun, and this one is just genius man!
Thanks lofty this helps alot! Ive always needed a phone holder.
What’s up loft studios
What’s up Crawbricks
Joooo your stop motion videos are so god damn cool! Even if it's a simple video like this, you animated it very cleverly!
Great video!
I love that one of your phone mounts is just full on Bionicle
Thank you!
Awesome
Using bionicle pieces to adjust the angle is genius
That design is pretty rad!
Oh my god, thank you, I needed to find a tutorial of this
Yayyy!!!
Yeah sure man, your epic Bionicle mount is cool and all, but let's be real, you can't beat the sheer simplicity and power of the brickbuilt one! 🤫 Especially built out of Duplo bricks! :0
Yay new vid!
Yay new video :0
Also good video
Thanks!!!❤❤
Not gonna lie, that looks amazing! I’m definitely gonna try and build one like that someday
Awesome, I hope it works out!
There’s nothing better than this guys videos
Thanks bro
Yooo, mine is so simple haha, excellent tutorial as always, keep creating more content PLS
Thanks 😊 btw I’m subscribed
Cool
Bro...The presentation, the creativity.....Bro ur awesomeness just amazes me (not glazing I promise) I just have 1 question: How did you do those camera shots with the lighting over here? 2:08
Thanks man!
I turned off all the lights except for one lamp, I set the camera to manual, and then I took pictures while moving the light across the table 👍
man, these were cool. I would love it if you made a bionicle stopmotion!
with captain guy of course...
I NEED THIS!!! TAKE MY MONEY 💰
I used to build LEGO holders but then I got a nice stand that’s flexible. It’s hard for me to make LEGO holders because I Use a iPad
Great vid!!
Thanks!
@@Loft_Studios no problem....here is your taco for good yt vid **🌮**
@IBClips7 Perfect, just what I need! 😋
@@Loft_Studios awesome'ness
I had a taco the other day; my first time having a double shell (soft shell on a hard shell) and I don't think I'll ever have a single shell taco again! 😂
Bros a master boulder
Nice animator
Awesome video !
Personnaly I use a bluetooth mouse to control my phone whithout touching it. It's cheap and very easy to use ;)
Hmm thats genius i never tought about using technic pieces to get the better angle
Amazing job and thx for the tutorial
Btw what do you use to edit?
Thanks! I use Adobe Premier Pro to edit my videos.
👍
wer helpfull
I had the exact same problems using a tripod!😂
If i wasn still animating at my phone snd didnt do it at my computer with my webcam i would definitelly make that thing!
You used HOT GLUE ON LEGO!!!!!
I mean, you do you, but I will never commit this sacrilege.
Also, FlidRid Da Mid
🥟
Can u make a tutorial of how you make your halo animation like “war on a desk” how did u make it so smoothly and the sounds
i used to animate with stickbots and those came with tripods so i just use those for my lego videos
Meh I alr have one but I might consider this
3:03 12 Inches
I don't know what this will do, but FlidRid da mid.
(Great video btw.)
🥟
I love your video. Why do you split tune 3 music?
Because I like Splatoon 3 music! For the most part…
JUST TO know can you maybe make a video on how’s to make the figure you made 2 years ago that was made of magnets
MY TRIPOD IS BROKE AND I NEEDED SOMETHING LIKE THIS
A new Lofty video? But it's not my birthday!
What about the phone stand from the LEGO movie maker?
yo loft studios can you make a vid about lego parts? like minifigure parts and stuff.
Can you bring back lofty please
Nice tutorial, will you ever make stories again? Like your amazing original stories, what happened?
What kind of story videos were your favorites and you’d like to see more of?
Not sure, I loved them all! Just wondering if they’ll be back ever
@@Loft_StudiosI liked the time travel one
MAKE A tutorial for the pipe cleaner
Hey bro, got a question to the practical effects you did a while back, how did you achieve that lighting in the first scene? Did you use 2 flashlights or did you just mask it incredibly good?
While I’m sure masking it would work, I have two flashlights that I always use anytime I need 2 light sources at once.
I use a stikbot stop motion stand.
Though that mount is cool, I prefer a regular camera and tripod setup as I feel it is sturdier and has better image quality. By the way, how do you get the mini-figure's head to wobble?
I would also like to move to a real camera at some point.
I sand down the knob that the head goes on, so the head turns easily, and as a result, it also has a little bit of wobble animation .
could you do an ipad mount?
I have been using a 3ds for years
Making a video how to make the figure
one time i just put the phone right on the table with sticky tack and a lego piece to support it
That works! 👍
This could actually be pretty helpful, and this is coming from a guy who has tried various set ups lol
Wait but what if you accidentaly bump the camera? Is there a way to secure it into one spot?
I use sticky tack
Ok wait this might be a reach but is the impact sound from the tripod hitting something offscreen at about 0:36 seconds a Globox hurt noise from Rayman Origins (with a glass shatter over it)?
You are exactly right! That is Globox taking damage!
How do you stop the sets and mounts from sliding when animating
The fabric helps it not slide easily while helping it slide smoothly when intended. I use a Bluetooth keyboard to take pictures. That keeps me from bumping my camera. Sometimes I will use sticky tack to anchor the phone mount to the table for extra security.
Do you usually write Down on paper what you want the minifigs to say before you make a video so that you know what expressions to put on their faces???
Yes, I record all the audio before making the video. That way, I know how to animate the character to fit what I’m saying.
Thanks!!!
What about iPads?
What about a tablet
I jus bought a jobi tripod lmao
what iphone do you use to make your videos
iPhone 11 Pro Max
0:09 wait if he put his tripods in the background while using another one tripod for filming then what kind of tripod did he use to zoom out?
(Or maybe he didnt even use a tripod to zoom out)
Bingo
