- Watch lofty as he strategically gives information on how to build large scale Lego sets of epic proportion for stop motion animation.
This video was a lot of fun to make! It took me forever to complete, but I am really happy with how it turned out. Let me know if you want more videos like this one.
WEBRICK website: www.webrick.com/
WEBRICK provided me with a 12% discount code "LoftStudios" which is valid for two weeks, so don't forget to use that if you order anything.
Thank you WEBRICK for sponsoring this video. They provided me with the Minecraft set pieces featured in the video. Despite being an off brand, WEBRICK’s bricks are surprisingly high-quality! I can truly barely tell a difference between Lego, and WEBRICK parts. The only difference is that some of WEBRICK’s parts (mostly there studs and base plates) are ever so slightly tighter, but not in such a way that it hinders how well the bricks connect. Here is a brief introduction of WEBRICK:
Webrick's online store offers a vast array of Lego-compatible loose bricks, and in addition, it provides a convenient system for adult users to create custom builds. This includes an effortless part list upload tool and a feature to create a wanted list.
Here is a part list you can use to make a Lego Minecraft set like the one in the video: www.webrick.com/wp_collection...

Yeah!
Facts
Setting up your camera before the set is a underrated piece of advice. I remember back in the day making sets that had detail, where the detail wouldn't be seen.

Ya, that trick was been a big game changer for my set building. It really helps stretch the Lego you have to create a seemingly massive set!
It's good advice in general for any kind of content creation, define what will and won't be "on the set" and don't worry about what's gonna be "behind the black"... unless Homestar's around, of course. For game dev and other computer modeling work, a great way to get into the "only what the player can see" mindset is to load up a Source Engine game (Half-Life, Black Mesa, Infra, etc), noclip around, and see what parts of the level are actually modeled and which aren't. ...Or, y'know, go watch Boundary Break 🤔
This is one of the most entertaining tutorials I've ever seen! It had no right to be this well animated, yet it was anyways! Also thanks for the shoutout :)
Thanks man! I love your stuff! You deserve more subscribers 👍
Yeah!
I agree! Had me engaged the entire time!

This guy ngl sounds a lot like Emmet from the lego movie, energy and all. Perfectly fitting for the content he makes.
My jaw is on the floor…this is quite simply beyond professional grade video production. And I learned multiple new things even after having been animating for 6 years…
Absolutely 10/10 tutorial. It’s actually fun to watch (also the fact that 1:53 his eyes change just for not even a second of emphasis is awesome)
Lovely, insightful tutorial *claps clap*
This was a really cool video. If this kind of thing was done by anyone else it might get kinda boring, but your fluent and exaggerated animation style makes it so much more entertaining!!
facts
This is absolutely amazing, I love this style

A 2000000$ car in the crew 2: 2:23
Hey man, I really enjoyed this video, great tips aswell, might use this to make my own sets a little better. You are a really good animatior and so underrated, it seems like the algorithm doesnt support brickfilms like it used to. You definetly gained a sub!
Thanks man! The RUclips algorithm definitely makes it hard for Lego animators to grow due to how long it takes to make just a few minutes of video. But I am pretty happy with my following! 😁
This has gotta be one of the best cases of quality > quantity tutorial. Brief and to the point, and being hilarious on top of it.
It surely contrasts watching some monetone monologue with no cuts 20 mins at a time-kind of tutorial. I will be shouting you out through a megaphone at my local town square for sure
Yo, this is really cool , you can defenitely make more of these
0:20 WHAAAAAT I M DEFFINITELY GONNA USE THAT ONE🤯🤯🤯
1:02 is sooooooooooooo awesome
0:57 i died because its literally me XD
When he said "OH BOTHER!!!!!!"
I felt that.
0:03 even the first 3 seconds was like
"Roses are red
Cactus are prickly
That escalated pretty quickly" 💀
Was it me or was 1:58 a very Odd1sout kind of thing to say? 😂
This guys deserves way more subs than what he has. He deserves like I don’t know… 10 Million. I’m not satirizing, I’m being serious.
I just love these face animations they just look so good and the whole is fast paced so it doesn't get boring.
its so cool how you used bits of paper for the sword slices!!!!!!
I've never seen before such an creative video. Me as a brickfilmer really feel the suffer meaking videos like that, can't really imagine the work you put in it! Respect, you deserve absolutely more subs!
This guy actually knows how to do stuff
This video was awesome! probably my favorite of yours and that’s coming from someone who has notifications on😉
This is literally the best tutorial I’ve ever seen, wow.
I'm printing up flyers and grabbing my megaphone. Love the presentation and great information.
I want to say, the video was very entertainment to watch.
The best tutorial, its entertaining and funny. YOU ARE UNDER RATED
This is great! Not only is this a super useful guide for saving money, but the humor feels like it was taken straight out of a Lego Movie. Great work.
Also about the "Cut in half" sound, the first one sounds like a Smash Bros. Sound, and the two after sound like a sound from Splatoon
Honestly. I love this video 100%. It’s one of the best ones I’ve seen so far. Good job
bro this is so dope! i think these tips are soooo helpful! also very enjoyable to watch this very entertaining
Feels like the Lego movie
Dude am I watching a tutorial or a cut scene from the LEGO movie? This is genuinely hilarious and has the exact comedy I would see in that movie!
Very fun to watch.
For the third time in my 10 years on RUclips, recommendations showed me something I wasn't looking for but enjoyed regardless.
Great stuff! New sub!
This is best lego stop I watched in my life 🔥🔥🔥
i love all the little smearing effects with more than one copy of a brick visible for a single frame, it really helps sell the movement!
I like the funny lego style 😂
This was fantastic! I loved the “Lofty has joined the set” bit even for how small of a bit it was lol
This is the best tutorial I've ever seen
This video is the perfect balance between informative and hilarious!
Absolutely amazing
The cut in half trick reminds me of how video games use “No Draw” textures to make it so anything the player cant see isnt rendered, leading to everything looking unfinished from the wrong angle. Super clever trick!
Really engaging video; nicely done
Great ideas! Thanks!
Some great tips, half a tree, half the parts
Nobody:
The amount of cars I have in the crew 2 (spoiler: over 250 cars!): 3:06
Y'know, I actually REALLY like your animation style, it's amazing!! AND I can make it at home!!
Why did I discover this channel only now and not like before I was born? Super useful and fun!
1:05 wasn't that the Splatoon sniping sound effect?
Indeed! I can’t believe someone recognized it!
Loved the Splatoon sfx thrown in. Its an underated game
Facts!!
Great snappy editing. It’s not often sponsored videos are as entertaining as this.
Dang, I genuinely laughed the whole time, even during the outro. And I learned stuff!
Great video! Really cool tips. Thank you for sharing them. Make more of these!
Thanks! Will do! Probably…
Damn dude, based on the quality of this video, how humorous and informative, the editing, etc., I was expecting you to have at least 1 million subs. I am astonished at the actual number. Keep it up and you’re guaranteed to hit it big.
A well earned like and sub.
How are you so underrated? Your animation skills are top notch dude.
This was amazing! And was very helpful! Great job!!
This video reminds me of my days doing brickfilms back in 2013, kinda want to get back into it.
This stop motion looks like the lego movie they should hire you 😂
Underrated by yearsssss, you my man are a legend and will be forever, keep up the great job.
This channel is so underrated
dude it feels like you not only have a lego movie esque style of animation down, but of ENTERTAINMENT down, which is way harder to get right. this is a very fun video, even if noticeably most ppl here aren't lego stop motion animators haha
thanks mate, i'm getting back into Stop motion after YEARS and this EXTREMELY HELPFUL!! keep it up
This was fantastic. Not only was it informative, but the animation was great and entertaining. I am about to start getting back into stop motion myself and the price has been a big struggle, so these tips came at the perfect time for me.
The micromodels in the background thing reminds me of one thing this one castle in Disneyland has (or have if there are others doing it), forced perspective.
Totally underrated, you just earned a new sub. The characters are animated so well and the animation comes off very fluently. I love stop motion in general and somehow the smear frames turn out so well in your videos, which I guess I just find difficult. Amazing video and tutorial too!
WOW YOU'RE AMAZING! The smoothness, the build up and release, it's all fantastic. You somehow made it feel like Lego has squash and stretch! All around incredible dude
This is one heck of a high quality tutorial... Its short, useful and really entertaining. Also setting up the camera beforehand is simple yet genius, I should do that from now on, thanks!
These tips are actuly realy smart and helpful thank you and have a nice day :)
This is the best and funniest stop motion video ive ever seen.
Wow amazing animation tips ! The stop motion presentation of this video is very well done !
i love loft studios this tip helped me alot
Just amazing
This video was super entertaining and great thanks!
Great work I how in the like tradision here thing it gives off a lego move vibe idk he just looks like the builder at 0:34
Thank you so much for showing me this website, will deffo be using it
The diamond helmet moving on his head was smooth as heck! Nice job.
As someone who is getting back into animation, this is very useful! Thank you for sharing!
such a cool video, gives me back old memorys
I love this tutorial format
This is the video I needed!!!!
im not that interested in stop motion tutorials, but this video entertained me soooo good. i love your stopmotion and the comedy. great video :)
I love your animation style!
This felt like the LEGO Movie itself while watching this
The imperfections on your characters face and surrounding is so nice it adds a certain charm and character to your already nice animation
Broo I don't think I've seen a tutorial this helpful in a long long while
Thank you for your tips 🙏
This has to be one of the most entertaining AND useful lego set building tutorials out there. HONESTLY- just WOW. I am stunned. Idk why I wasn't subscribed before but I am now :)
It's funny, a lot of this advice also holds true for video game development. If you've ever poked around an asset editor or something like Garry's mod, you'll see a lot of things that look solid from the few angles you see them ingame, but have no backs, or bottoms, or are smaller than they appear.
That’s really interesting. I did not know that but that makes sense. Why would you spend time coding parts of in game set that will never be seen by players!
@@Loft_Studios t's also great because it saves polygons and therefore framerate, since it's less rendering
appreciate your great work
I love the enthusiasm and your voice is very entertaining.
This vid was a perfect mix of information and ytp style editing, i def loved it
YESSS Thank you SOOOOOO much I do stop Motion and my backgrounds look plain this is they greatest first tutorial I’ve ever seen Thank you so much ❤❤❤❤❤❤

On the trees, I agree.
