I just had to increase my price for a few specific clients recently using a similar letter format, with the new price in effect the following month. Thankfully they all handled it well and one client even said, "We'll pay the new price starting today, you're worth it!" Needless to say, that meant a lot to me! Thank you for all your videos, Angela. As a relatively new house cleaner (only about two years into this), your help is priceless. And you're also helping me to think through a few customers I might need to drop ;)
Hey Brittany, I love that you took the initiative to bump up your pricing to match inflation. It's uncomfortable the first time you do it, and then it's matter of fact - just part of business. High Five for growing and expanding.
My parents have a cleaning business and I love that I found your videos to help them with their clients. They are scared to lose clients so they haven’t increased prices for some customers in 15 YEARS!! I thinks it’s way over due so I can’t wait to help them with your videos!!
You are so welcome! After 15 years your parents definitely deserve an increase. Cost of cleaning products and other services have gone up, so they are due. Sending you positive vibes and wishing your parents lots of continued success.
Thank you for this video, Angela. I have owned a cleaning company for five years, and have never increased rates. However, with inflation soaring, I'm increasing them quite dramatically. I was pleased to find that all clients I've informed so far are staying, but I have some clients whom I was nervous to approach with this increase in rates. Your video helped me sort out the emotional aspect of it. Thank you!!
Hi J'aime, this is fantastic news. Thanks for sharing it. It's true that inflation has raised the prices on just about everything, including the services we provide our clients. Due to chemical price increases, the rise in the cost of PPE, fuel, vehicles, cleaning equipment - we have to raise our prices to stay in business. And you're also right, it's a business decision, not an emotional one. 👍
Oh Angela, I love you. You always have the answers to my question and that one was a tough one. I didn't know how to tell my clients I needed to increase my prices and there you are, making it so simple and easy. Thank you so very much
This is actually the most amazing video - I started my business in a small town country area 6mths ago and have learnt so much in 6 months! First of all I have to be prepared to drive 20 to 30 minutes to the next town to gain clients (I have a travel charge which everyone so far has paid without debate, which is great!) but I also realised my efficiency to do the job well and in less time (I'm just charging $28 hourly rate) means I earn less per job! I totally need to raise my price because I'm doing all this long distance driving and feel like i'm just scraping by pay check to paycheck. Your videos have helped me SO MUCH, and this one I feel I'm going to be watching several times to drill it in to my head that it's not such a big deal after all. Thankyou Angela you're amazing!!!
Hey Ms. Brown how about I have this customer who only calls about once every 2 months the agreement was once every 2 weeks. She recently asked if I could come and clean but her house after 2 months is way more work than it would have been if I went every 2 weeks. Its a 1 bedroom 1 bath with a lot of cat hair everywhere. I charged her 70.00 for every 2 weeks not realizing how bad it was. I want to increase my price to 100.00. Can I tell her that before I do her house in the next 2 days. By the way I usually charge 30 dollars an hour anywhere else. At this home I am only getting paid 17.50 an hour because it takes 4 hours sometimes longer to clean it.
Hi there, i'm wondering why you aren't charging her the same rate as everyone else even though it is more work, is her place several km closer to you, therefore you're using less gas? I totally would be telling her my new price a week in advance, or two weeks, I do it via email & if they don't use email I leave a note on their countertop. Your question was 11 months ago, I hope it all went in your favor. 👍
@@missdragoness6132 Hey yes it did, I just explained to her that my price was increasing due to everything else going up gas, supplies etc and now charging 40 an hr and she agreed so now she pays me 160 and she didn't see have a problem at all. Thanks!!
I have a client who has been on at least 4 vacations, with her family within the last year. Only has me clean when they know I need the money, pays me $100 for about 5 + hours of cleaning. It is not an easy job. Also, would a customer be offended if I offered to teach them to clean. I think of young children living in filth, with animals, and parasites. I turned down an apartment that was extremely gross. I told them if it would be treated for bugs before I clean I would consider, I referred the tenant to a company with more than one cleaner. Can you give me the name of the video for branching out and hiring others, so I am eventually the boss? Thanks for all you give
I suggest you watch this video about hiring for a cleaning team: ruclips.net/video/0dAncao16Es/видео.html Keep me posted on how branching out is going for you. Are you suggesting you offer customer’s training to clean? Thanks for watching!
