I used to listen to this song from the album, juluka african litany, when l was 12years old in early 1980. Now l am 55 years old and still love the music.
One of my all-time favourite songs. Peace and safe journey, Johnny - you were a fantastic talent, and a strong voice for humanity. I hope the African sunshine is warm on the next astral plane.
Wonder Why I never heard of johnny Clegg till today. I have pored over his music and am visibly impressed at his brilliance and love for his country. This humble man truly was colour blind and this what we all need. RIP great son of Africa
I'm so sorry to say I have not heard of Johnny Clegg until I read of his passing, and though I 'am saddened by this terrible loss i have found a wonderful musician and from what I'm reading even a better man to be a fan however late i am.thank you Johnny and may you RIP
Imagine the privilege and emotion to hear this as a postgraduate student being sung by him c. 1993 in a small venue in St Louis in the middle of winter, having been away from home in South Africa for 2 years
Johnny clegg is a legend.. I am 15 Now and I listened to this song in December when I was 7.. So 8 years ago.. I have been to 3 of his live Show and absolutely loved them.. He is a true hero to me.. He pushes me through tough times and teaches me to never take anything for granted
As a Zimbabwean, I agree with you. He is a legend. To this day, he teaches us all to be the best and the highest version of ourselves. To always be kind to all people, all living beings and our Planet.
Oh I love my country, my South Africa, especially now in a new wonderful dispensation, our democracy, God bless our leaders, God bless ANC and all those who died and shed their blood for our freedom. The oppressers, haters of freedom will call you idiots but you even brought them freedom they are enjoying today. They enjoyed seeing black people oppressed by their evil apartheid, africans oppressed in their country of origin, forward with progressive forces forward. Thank you Johnny and Juluka for breaking those oppressive walls and gave us beautiful such songs, God bless you. Thank you we will always enjoy these songs.
seraphiccandy21 I miss South Africa too. It will always be my home. Due to circumstances I now live in Canada. Been here 4 yrs, now a permanent resident.🇿🇦/🇨🇦

This song and Third World Child are two of my favourites from Juluka - incredible songs!
The song 'Third World Child' was originally recorded by Johnny Clegg as a solo artist in 1985 and then with Savuka circa 1987.
