    Note: I misspoke about the first layer of the ramp surface. I said 1/4", but I used 1/2" for that (I think it was 3/8" to be exact).

    Hi Matt, bikes all assembled, just waiting for inner tubes, stem, chain breaker. I see people on RUclips whacking in there BB in with a hammer, sometimes not even with a rubber mallet, IDK so glad I bought bearing press. Anyway mate nearly all done just waiting for these last couple of items to arrive.

    • @TheNostalgicNeighborhood
      @TheNostalgicNeighborhood  4 месяца назад

      Right on!!! Yeah, I made a bearing press out of a threaded rod, some bolts, and giant washers. It cost me less than $10 in parts. I wouldn’t want to be hammering on my frames either 🤣

    nice ramp. good job on the skatepark also. i am over 50 and i still get some. but the ollie was most impressive. as to me skateboarding is harder than bikes at some stuff. to me . but i dd make 1000 snowboarding videos and rip it up on a board. but skating is harder than snowboarding for sure when it comes to being in the air etc.

    • @TheNostalgicNeighborhood
      @TheNostalgicNeighborhood  4 месяца назад +1

      Right on. I'm totally the opposite. Skateboarding is much easier for me than doing tricks on bikes. Although, in the last year... I think I've hurt myself more on a skateboard than a bike 🤣

    Wonderful! I will say I am impressed with your skateboard skills. I am 52 now, been riding MTB for years, got a BMX 26 inch, and have been riding that a lot. Jumping is a bit heavier on my body now😊. I showed my wife one of your older videos when you were in the skate park. We were both duly impressed that you’re still skating. I don’t think I would go back to that, the idea of falling….😊 another great video. I really appreciate them. Brings a smile to my face. 🤙

      Right on. Thanks for all the comments. I’ll be 50 this year, so not too far behind you. I rode MTB a ton in college, and didn’t really start riding bikes again until about 5 years ago. I got a reasonably nice Salsa MTB (Timberjack) and I enjoy riding it, but I’m enjoying my BMX bikes more. Yeah, I hear you about being nervous of falling on a skateboard. I get hurt every now and then, but it’s rarely serious. I’m a lot more conservative now than I used to be, that’s for sure 🤣 Thanks for the encouragement. Your comments made my day 👊

    Matt, next month, beside sorting my brakes out, that's minor. I've got my eyes on a Redline RL20B, (green) its a hell of a lot cheaper than the RL20II, and despite the cheaper price, I prefer the less lateral top-tube and prefer the lower stand over height. A complete bike and all I need to do is slap some white Skyway's and white tyres on it and I'm good to go. Women can have their shoes, us lads can have our bikes.

    Nice little ramp Matt, good stuff. I've ordered all my parts. Im just so excited i have to share it with you. I've got pink Skyway wheels, pink tyres (no tan sidewall) pink ODI bar ends, got some Odyssey Broc Raiford Grips only because they're clear and ive got some Odyssey, Redline and Profile stickers to put on the bars beneath the grips. Odyssey SXTN STEM (polished), compression cap, twisted pedals (pink) headset, bluebird chain and bottom bracket. Redline flight crank, Profile sprocket (same colour as decals. Skyway etched layback seatpost. Haven't gone about sourcing pegs or brakes yet but i might take the front brake off my new school bike until next month and also the layback cult seatpost and Eclat fat bios pivotal seat, the Skyway seatpost is coming from Australia. This bike Matt is going to be so bad-ass!!! I can't wait bro

      Also forgot to mention, got some Skyway (pink) brake pads. Matt, I'm a bit bit concerned with the brakes, I want Odyssey, pink or polished/chrome but there maybe an issue in the way the brake cable travels between the top tube and the caliper, I may have to get Dia compe Hombre calipers with Tech 77 levers, I'll just see how things develop
