To see an icon fall apart like this. Shame on Jim Murren for allowing this. Thanks for the heads up Jules. Mirage was my favorite hotel, but I'm really starting to see the opulence and the cool factor die down.
Mirage is really beginning to need a refresh. It used to be my home from home but everything is beginning to look dated. I’ve not enjoyed the Mirage buffet for the last 5 or 6 years but I also thought they’d have to improve it once the free wine and beer got removed. Have always thought the set up is like a school cafeteria but the food gets worse and worse. I’m not a fussy eater and at most buffets you can find something to fill your plate but I had indigestion after the Mirage buffet. Nice to hear TI has improved though as that used to be mediocre. Paris gets a thumbs up from me as well as it’s small but good quality.
Every casino and buffet on the Strip is overrated and a waste of time/money. Stay, eat, and gamble at the downtown casinos. Only stupid tourists go to the Strip casinos.
There was a time their buffet was better than average in the 90’s. Went back there once many years ago & it was very disappointing. Thanks for your honesty.
Just got back from Vegas. Stayed at Mirage and had a great time. The dinner buffet was comparable to Bellagio’s. I think both have gone down in the last five years, but if they’re comped.. Was expecting quality to go up with the removal of bottomless alcohol. I think MGM is having a rough couple years across the board since the shooting. Would love to see Mirage and TI sold to the same company and some renovations take place. Mirage is still a beautiful resort.

I completely agree with you on this buffet. I always eat here using myvegas reward and I stick with the basics like made to order omelets. I would not pay full price for this buffet. It's sad because it used to be grear
Jules... you must have made a mistake and accidentally uploaded the buffet at Circus Circus instead! Haha!!! My dad and I ate at the Mirage buffet probably 3 years ago, and I found it to be so boring. At least then, their meats, cheeses, and Middle Eastern dips, dolmas, etc. were good and really nicely presented. The entree selection was so boring. And frozen raw oysters.
So true... Mirage has been decreasing in quality for years now... I actually don't think they care about it. I actually don't think MGM cares about Mirage at all, which is a shame because I don't like South Strip and all their resorts except for Mirage and Bellagio are South Strip (and Bellagio is a maze so I avoid it as much as I can)

I kind of think you were a touch harsh in your review. Mirage is one of my favourite of the "low end" Strip Buffets, and the reason why i like it is because it offers stuff not many others do. For example, I don't know ANY other buffets on the Strip that offer wun tun noodle soup or egg drop soup, and the only other buffet i know which does french onion soup is Paris. Ok it's just soup, but i've been to every buffet on the Strip (apart from Sterling Brunch) and when you have been to that many,m you quickly realise how similar they all are, so when you get a buffet offering stuff you don't see in other buffets, i think that's a really good thing. I might be slightly biased though, coz when i go to the Mirage i have like 5 bowls of egg drop soup, it's just so good :D

MGM Resorts in general has been on the decline in the past year especially. Worse discounts, higher prices, lower quality in general! What are they thinking?!?
Our first trip to Vegas last July, the only gambling my wife and I did, was at The Mirage Buffet and boy like you were saying, we lost!!!

Steve Wynn would never have allowed this to happen. We went last year and it is nothing the past. Poor desserts and not much else. What with the high prices on everything including resort fees and parking there really is no reason to ever stay on the strip again. I say go once the stay off las Vegas Blvd forever. We have to many choices today.

Mirage and all of the MGM spots have become real holes of ca ca. Do they not realize a LOT of people are eschewing them like a bad yeast infection?

Besides Wynn and Caesars, which buffet would you recommend? Will return in August...long way from good old Europe...and we do not want to be disappointed...were at Paris 4 years ago and it was comped, but pretty mediocre...

Thx, very interesting! Really confusing that quality seems to be so inconsistent. We really loved Wynn and especially the waiter service as this gave a classy touch. We also enjoyed the nice atmosphere and the overall food quality - and all just 5 months ago... Looks like buffets in Vegas are like slot machines 🎰😉

I was just n Vegas. Mirage was the WORST hotel/casino on the Strip, Treasure Island being a close 2nd, not surprised about the buffet. It's a DUMP

TI was absolutely akin to eating at a 2 star buffet created by monkeys with rampant diarreah. I wouldn't step foot into that rat hole again. Too much money, garbage people working there, woeful rooms, and the entire place smells like a bad foot odor. I felt the need to wash really well once I left that pit of utter despair.
