Best to have that pre-arranged before even going out there. I went to Hawaii in the 80s and wanted to go to a luau but couldn't find one. I stayed in Honolulu and Maui. The show at the Maui Surf hotel was decent. And I went to the Don Ho show in HNL. Glad I did, as from what I can tell there's really no one who's replaced him that has his charisma and talent. With the internet it's a lot easier to figure out where to go when getting there now.
@@ethelyu2436 the food was good, its chicken breast grilled with a Teriyaki sause on it, bbq pork shredded, salad with a tasty dressing on it, rice and macaroni salid. A small plate of fruit and a coconut cake. Its all you can eat and also 2 alcoholic drinks. I've never been to a big thing like that, that I thought the food was great, but it was above average good
@@ethelyu2436 if your around north shore any other days and was a couple nice and very good set down restaurants little pricey Haleiwa Joes (Prime rib or Teriyaki steak and Haleiwa Beach house (short ribs or Curry or grill Mai mai) both are great. The best shrimp truck place is Tanaka Kahuku Shrimp, there spicy shrimp was amazing and I tryed several others even Giovanni and Tanaka was 10 times better
Right?? And Waimea Valley is such a perfect setting. Way better than some large production stage or otherwise. Looking forward to the day we get to go back!
Thank-you so much for this video. We have done a couple of other Luaus on Oahu but this video decided it for us. I went back and watched all your other Hawaii videos. They are all filmed so nicely and you seem like such nice and genuine people. I really enjoyed them all.
That must be the nicest comment we've received, thank you so much! We love making videos as a virtual memory bank for ourselves, but a big part of it is being able to share with others - glad we were able to help you find your next Luau! Toa put on such a great show, hope you enjoy it!
She is wearing a flower over her right ear, which means she is single. If she where "Taken" she would have the flower over her left ear, on the side of her body where her heart is.
I noticed you guys got nut leis but their website says everyone gets a flower lei... what date did you go? I went in 2021 but don't remember what I got
We went back in late May/early June of 2021, which was right before travel restrictions were fully lifted, and Toa had just recently reopened. I believe it was more of just a logistics reason that we didn't get flower leis.
We went two nights ago and loved it!! But does anyone know the name of the song that starts around 11:20 in the video? The girls in the purple dresses….
This is in Waimea Valley near Pupukea, about an hour drive from Waikiki (depending on traffic). Bit of a trek if you're staying in Honolulu, but definitely worth it!
They serve a plated meal individually, so no buffet, but they asked multiple times if we wanted anything else. We asked for more pork and it came out right away. Anything you want more of, they'll bring right away.
@@VeronicaRyanVideos oh right on! This will be our first luau and everyone says Paradise Cove but I love the presentation they gave here. I'm looking at their gold package (middle package). You guys had a good view. Is that what you would recommend or do you think the lowest tier (silver) is good enough too?
Awesome! You've chosen well! We do an unusual amount of research before all our travels, and we tend to prefer to "stray from the beaten path" to hopefully find some hidden gems. This was one of those cases that worked out really well. Toa Luau is relatively new and much smaller than the other luaus on Oahu, which works in its favor. They intentionally have a limited amount of people per showing so they can be more hands on and personable, which is why we chose this show. The pictures and even videos don't do the experience justice; it really was a great time and can't imagine a better setting (waimea valley). That being said, since it is a smaller show, the open air room where they do the dances/music and serve the food is relatively small, so every table has a good view. I can't speak for the silver though, as the section we were in was the gold section, which is floor level. The silver section is an elevated section so the gold/vip sections don't obstruct your view, but you are just a bit further away from the stage. Being floor level in the Gold section did feel pretty immersive though, so I'd say it's worth it. Hope that helps!
I can’t wait to come back and see this show . I like that they represented all the Polynesian traditions of dance
Right? We never thought we'd like a luau as much as we enjoyed Toa, they put on such a great experience. Thanks for watching!
🎉❤🎉

That looks very entertaining. Can't wait to go back. 🌺
It's such a great time, we can't wait to go back as well, Hawaii was such a great time! Thanks for watching!

That looks super fun and education.
Awesome!!!
Aloha from Charlotte, NC!
Love this video!
Thank you so much!
what package did you guys get? is the silver seating close enough to the stage to be able to see it?

@@VeronicaRyanVideos ok, I was there April 21, I think we had flower but not sure as we went to another luau too and so I have pics of the flower Lei.
We went last week, everyone gets flower leis, but if it's your birthday, newlyweds or anniversary you also got a nut lei

So you really couldn’t eat the food they were preparing?! BUMMER
Ugh no! The food we got was great still, but that coconut fish sounded really good...
How long did the Luau last?
So the check in was just a bit before 5 and the show was wrapped up by around 8 30. All in all about 3.5-4 hours for everything. Hope that helps!
🌸💞
So they just give one meal? Not buffet style?
