My favorite tune at 4:30! So mysterious and exciting! My childhood right there. Wish I could go back in time and watch it for the very first time again! God i miss my childhood in the 80's. I miss my Dad 😥🥺
❤️ i was born 1996 but this holds a big part of childhood, I wish I was a kid growing up throughout the 80s your a lucky person and we all share a love for this song and film
One-Eyed Willie's descending keyboard motif has never fully left my brain. That sound just evokes that childhood wish I think most of us have probably felt-- that you could be the one to rediscover some forgotten legend and his treasure-- perfectly.
I have a terrible memory. Yet I can recall the weather, the location when my mate said shall we go back to his house to watch the Goonies. The what? Awesome. So amazing. Film stuck with me. Top ten.
This is one of the rare soundtracks that can make me 😊 AND 😢 at the same time! So many great childhood memories, so much nostalgia linked to this movie! OH GOD, PLEASE SEND ME A TIME MACHINE!!! 😄
I love Dave Crusin and Larry Rosen productions since the 70's and my favorite score by Dave Crusin is " Three Days of Condor". My favorite song is Friends and Strangers, and The Goonies remains my favorite childhood movie i was 11 years old when it was released. Thanks a lot Soundtrack Fred
Dave Grusin, known for his Jazz- and jazz-oriented film music, probably outdone himself with his score for the 1985' "The Goonies", following a rather classical tone of music (not to mention the use of a famous Max Steiner theme here and there). Directed by Richard Donner, the famous director for the 1978's "Superman - The Movie" (John Williams' famous theme will get its place in this score here, too), this film remains as an absolute classic for everybody. Enjoy!
Don't forget the tiny snippet of John Barry's James Bond theme. Spielberg called Cubby Broccoli and asked him to return the favor of allowing the famous five-tone signal from "Close Encounters" in "Moonraker."
this is awesome music. the 80's movies and the soundtrack at it's best. But where is that music Video that had by Cyndi Lauper the Goonies are good enough ? i love that song.
Just adding: Grusin did a great job with The Milagro Beanfield War. It was never released as a soundtrack to my knowledge but he did a suite of it on one of his regular releases, Migration, in 1989 I believe.
The 25th Anniversary Edition is out of print now and goes for $200-$300 on Amazon. There's a newer Japanese import (liner notes will be in Japanese) but it's around $35-$40 so I'm thinking about it. I'm glad you recently posted this as it's helpful.
John Williams, Jerry Goldsmith, Dave Grusin, Morton Stevens, Lalo Schifrin, Bernard Herrmann and Quincy Jones all had offices right next eachother at CBS studios in the 1950s and 60s headed by Stanley Wilson who mentored them, every week they would score a TV or Radio show and they would every week listen to what eachother was writing and try to outdo the other every week.
Plot: Set in the present day, "Goonies: Treasure of the Lost City" follows a new group of adventurous kids who stumble upon a hidden treasure map left behind by the original Goonies gang. Determined to embark on a thrilling quest, they embark on an epic adventure to uncover the mysteries of the lost city and save their town from imminent danger. The story revolves around four friends: Alex, a natural leader with a passion for history and legends; Mia, a tech-savvy whiz kid with a knack for solving puzzles; Lucas, a brave and resourceful athlete; and Lily, an adventurous and fearless tomboy. Together, they form the modern-day Goonies and are known as the "Newbies." The Newbies find the map hidden inside an old locker at their school, which leads them to the location of a hidden lost city buried beneath their town. Rumors have circulated for years about the city's fabled riches, but its existence has always been dismissed as mere legend. Excited by the prospect of treasure and determined to prove the skeptics wrong, the Newbies embark on an underground journey filled with traps, riddles, and unexpected encounters. As they navigate the treacherous tunnels and caverns, the Newbies encounter booby traps left behind by the city's ancient inhabitants. Along the way, they also stumble upon an eccentric archaeologist named Dr. Amelia Harding, who has been searching for the lost city her entire life. Driven by her desire to unlock the secrets of the city, Dr. Harding joins forces with the Newbies, bringing her expertise and knowledge to aid in their quest. Unbeknownst to them, a ruthless treasure hunter named Victor Blade is hot on their trail. Blade, a cunning and wealthy businessman, believes that the lost city holds immense power and wishes to claim it for himself. With his team of mercenaries, he follows the Newbies, sabotaging their progress at every turn. As the Newbies and Dr. Harding delve deeper into the heart of the lost city, they unravel its history and encounter magical artifacts and hidden chambers. They learn that the city's riches are more than just material wealth; they hold the key to healing their town, which is under threat from a greedy corporation planning to bulldoze it for a new development. In a race against time, the Newbies must outsmart Blade and his mercenaries, solve ancient puzzles, and unlock the city's final secret chamber to reveal the hidden power that can save their town. Along the way, they discover the true meaning of friendship, courage, and the importance of preserving history and the environment. "Goonies: Treasure of the Lost City" is a thrilling and heartwarming adventure that pays homage to the beloved original film while introducing a new generation of Goonies. With nostalgic references, exciting action sequences, and a message of unity and preservation, the movie captures the spirit of the original while paving the way for future adventures of the Goonies.
Just heard this on a cat channel, no music credits given but someone in comments identified it, so here I am. I LOVE THIS! What I see in my head though, is Ukrainian troops proudly marching when the last Russian butt is gone out of their beautiful country!!
13:51 Sheriff: Holy Mary mother of God! Look at that! Mouth: Oh my god! Reporter 1: Ladies and Gentlemen we're at Cauldron Point, and what appears to be a pirate ship Mikey: Bye Willy thanks. Sloth: Ahh! Goonies: Ahhhh!! THE END

Your words touched my heart. Lots of love to you Veronica. Your dad won't be too far away.
Reminds me of "Jo Lemaire & Flouze-Je Suis Venue te Dire Que je M'en Vais".
It sounds like a song from the soundtrack of The neverending story.
I was born in 83 and grew up watching this all the time, the music was something special. Really captivated me and hearing it again brings me back ❤️

Glad it's not just me who feels this way. So glad I've finally found it.

"Fratelli Chase" is easily one of the best tracks to ever start an Action-Adventure movie. Wowsers.

Good Grusin. He also wrote much of the music for the TV series NAME OF THE GAME if memory serves
