I'm in my 20s, over weight, and thought it was hopeless for me to get healthy. Every video on RUclips exhausted me so bad I could barely function (energy wise) the next day. However once I found this my life changed. After following your lead, in this particular video, 5xs a week for a month I noticed a HUGE difference in my weight and energy level. Amy I cannot thank you enough for jump starting my path to healthiness. I've progressed to your other videos and every single one of them are fantastic! You rock!

did you just do this workout, or others included? and did you have any kind of diet, because I want to start this workout too.

    • @Mingchan
      @Mingchan 8 лет назад +66

+Michou Amirou Hey there! Well I began doing this exact workout 5x a week for a month (so 10 min a day for 5x a week). Then progressed to doing this video and another of Amy's *AMAZING* 10 min workouts for the past month (so 20 min a day 5x a week). I switch them around weekly so I've at least worked on a particular area. I cut bread and soda out of my diet. I also limited my intake of cheese. I started really doing this because I have very high cholesterol and was told I was going to be put on medication if I didn't start being serious about my health. That's why low impact cardio was great to begin on. Everyone is different and during Amy's videos she always say "stick to your own pace!" so I would suggest finding what works for you. I didn't exhaust myself, took quick 10 second breaks in the beginning for water, and just really listened to my body. I still have a long way to go, but even just doing the smallest workout regularly will only benefit you remember that. :)

If you want to lost weight, the best thing to do is to start out with light cardio because you will get unmotivated and tired if you put too much strain on your body. Also be sure to have a good diet. Don't try things like body wraps and the Alkins diet. The alkins diet is technically starving yourself. Just eat a little less than what you lose. That's some tips.
And a key to weight loss is that it doesn't happen overnight. It takes work. Stay motivated and strong like I did and you too will be in shape in no time.

I am 190 I always been 145 my whole life at one point lower than that I've gained over 50 lbs in the last 4 years and now that I am engaged I am wanting more to be healthy again. ruclips.net/user/postUgkx5VQ5nUzHu6i0O5_u7ipyLnCz0lbsSvr0 I am not fat but I am thick and have muscle. I am very close to how you were but a lil smaller but I am so sick people making comments to me like I'm huge or like you said having shorts that used to be so cute on me and now I can't even find a pair to fit me. I used to love shopping now I don't even want to go to the store and if I do I pick the biggest size don't even try it on and deal with it. I went from size 5 to size idk because I don't even want to know the real number. I hate looking at pics of myself now or me before. Thank you for your video it's time to make a change.

I've been working out for a while. Far from being as fit as her but I do it regularly enough. I have just found that too many of these 'beginner' videos are still being done at the instructors level of what they consider to be a beginners level which thankfully she doesn't do. Unfortunately many have been doing fitness for so long that they have forgotten what it feels like to start from zero or never having done any exercise. This one critical thing is what dissuades a lot of people from working out long term.

I just started this workout tonight..after finding out my BMI is literally in the obese section I had to change my lifestyle. i'm 5'3 and weigh 180 lbs. after being so slim my whole life ( I use to weigh 110-115 before i had 2 children) I didnt think I could ever get this big. (this is big for me it might not be for others.. so im not picking at anyone) I tried to do more intense cardio workouts to push myself but my heart was literally hurting from pushing myself so hard, so this video is soooo amazing. no problems with heart pain.. i guess i just need to take it slow, its been near 5 years since i've worked out or did any kind of strenuous activity..my diet was pretty much whatever i wanted to eat..ice cream, cupcakes, candy etc. etc. for 5 years..well not anymore. thanks again AMY. this just gave me more motivation to get myself back in shape. and good luck to everyone and anyone who uses her channel for motivation =]

Thankyou so much for sharing one that is trully useful to REAL beginners and those needing to take it easy. Some people assume that beginners can jog for a warm-up and so forth, and I know that when I was a beginner, those type workouts always made me give up because I was out of breath and exhausted when the warmup was done. @@laneecemckerry4022 it's really important for you to change your diet also. I don't know what diet would be best for you because it depends on ur age, weight, and height, etc. Although I want to tell you to not cut fat completely. what I mean is to cut highly processed carbs like burgers, pizza, etc. but do not cut out HEALTHY fats like avocado, shrimp, fish, etc. Proteins and carbs are crucial to weight loss.
also, if you are going to eat before you workout, make sure you eat 1 to 3 hours before because it reduces exercise-induced nausea. I recommend to wait 45 minutes to one hour to eat post-workout. If you do not feel thirsty during the workout, don't drink water because it can also make you feel nauseous. it's really bad to feel like this but don't worry, if you do start feeling nauseous, walk at ur own pace and rest. It's normal to feel like this. Professional athletes also experience this. DO NOT push yourself to the point where you can't take it anymore.
Also, drink 8 cups of water a day and cut out sodas and sugary drinks. DO NOT do HIIT workouts if you are a beginner because you're not used to it. If you are going to do cardio, do short sessions. I don't recommend going on the treadmill for 1 hour. this video is what you need. if you don't feel like it's doing anything, maybe do it twice a day. I hope this helps!

This is great! I'm a runner, but I've been looking for a gentle cardio workout to do on recovery days to get the blood flowing, without joint impact. Most 'low impact' videos seem to mean lots of jumping, but only an inch or two off the ground. This one is perfect, I can even add light hand weights too if I'm wanting to feel the burn!

I've finally found a Dr that diagnosed my issue and turns out, I need a full hip replacement! So he has given me injections in both hips and boy oh boy, does that help. I am able to move with so much ease, I've even jogged a bit. Have been walking around the block which is just over 1 mile in under 23 minutes. Some days I go to the gym and walk on the treadmill for 2 miles at a pretty swift pace for me. Finding this 10 minute workout will allow me a quick cardio between workouts! Yes!!!

Finally someone who gets the idea of BEGINNERS! I was hunting for something for a 1st timer. Everyone has to start somewhere! I havent done anything like this for, well I wont specify how many years lol, but am losing weight now and wanted to add some cardio, but most of the so-called "beginner" stuff is all for able-bodied fit young folks, not for someone who is older, overweight and out of shape, with back, joint and balance problems. :O I couldn't keep up with or coordinate with other videos that supposedly "showed you" how to do things way too fast. This I was able to fairly closely follow and keep up with, and only got my arms and legs tangled once or twice lol. I didnt feel embarrassed or lame at any point for not be able to catch on to the moves or do everything like other "beginner" videos I attempted today, and just felt comfortable doing what I could, and surprised myself how much I could do. I plan to exercise to this one often until I can develop some fitness and mobility. :)

I will be recommending this video because it's only 10 minutes and can be done in a cubicle or small office space. It's also perfect for my students who want to add a quick cardio workout. Personally I love the versatility of it. It can be low impact and I noticed that some of these moves are similar to my hand and ankle weight workout, so I can do weight lifting and cardio at the same time. Love this!

I'm 17 and have 102,6 kgs (this morning I weighted myself). And all I can say that it's my fault. My eating habits were totally unhealthy with a lot bread, pepsi and sweets. Everyday for a while. The result is this weight. Before just a month I had 96kg, and I was fat my whole life, but this number on scale is shook and it was like someone punched me in face. Really. And this video is pure miracle. I know this one for years and always take me back to shape and condition. The most important, there are a lot of sweat every single time, because whenever I can I bring up exercise level. Truly for beginners!

this is exactly what I needed!! I used to have a very active lifestyle, but then some health issues left me with no work out and not such an active lifestyle in general for months!! now that things are better and my health seems to be doing better, I tried to start working out again... I forced myself to do the same level as I did before, but I realized that I was doing more harm to my body than good... I had to really accept the fact that I have to start over and IT'S OK! I had to take a step back and finally search for "beginners cardio".. it was the right choice :)
I know that I can progress fast since I have an active background, but I'm not concerned with this anymore. Just listen to your body, guys! Whether you're a beginner or someone coming back from injury/health issues, take a minute to breath and you'll get there in your own pace! Exercise is supposed to feel good!

Five pregnancies have definitely taken a toll on my body and making me feel every bit of my "middle age". I love that this is truly a beginner workout for fat/poor muscle tone women, not "beginners to our rigorous program". Thank you for modelling the clear step by step instructions that so many workouts assume we already have the coordination for, and encouraging us to work where we are at!

This is actually really pleasant to do while still feeling like proper exercise, and it doesn't require a lot of open space, either. Awesome!
I have a lot of hobbies that require sitting around for extended periods of time, and I needed something quick and reasonably easy to just get moving a bit every now and then, without feeling absolutely knackered afterward. This is the first youtube workout that makes me feel energized instead of vaguely sore while also not carrying much of a risk of kicking over a musical instrument or a stack of books or something.
I also appreciate that it's pretty easy on the knees - I had an ACL tear a few years ago, and while everything's technically fine again, accidentally overworking that knee generally _really sucks_ for a few days.

I am committing this year to being more fit and active, trying to burn off the extra fat and just get back into shape. This really is an excellent beginners cardio workout. I get my heart rate up and breathe heavily. I can feel it in all those important muscle groups. But my knees don't hurt and I don't worry about my ankles being able to support all of my weight. Thank you so much for taking those of us with these issues into consideration and making a video to truly help us get back on track.

Now that i can't even get through my old 20 min pilates workout i was and have been so unmotivated because it used to be so freaking easy to me. Now finally i found something that i can complete and feel good about. Im sweating and i could see myself doing this more than once a day. Even when i would go to the gym i couldn't work out like i used to. I used to be able to go so hard. Last time few times i went to the gym my whole core/ abdomen would cramp up so bad i had to stop working out. I could go as hard as i can with this for ten minutes and feel like i accomplished something. Thank you

You are a blessing, Miss Amy! I have fibromyalgia and hashimoto's and this was exhilarating. I used to body build before I got really sick and started to have trouble even with simple tasks like walking. I went from 145lbs down to 120lbs within a year. I feel very tired and my muscles have wasted away so much that I have become very weak. Other videos and routines can feel discouraging because they aren't gentle enough, but this one was perfect. To anyone else struggling with disability that wants to exercice, take baby steps and don't worry about how little you can do, focus on what you can do and you will become stronger.

This is a fantastic workout. I was born with congenital brittle bone disease and have to be so careful of movement ranges and joint impact. I used to be in a wheelchair until I was 15 and couldn't walk. I had operations to put rod's in my femurs to support and assist at preventing full breaks, and worked my backside of at physio to recover and I now walk unaided. Now 36, I've struggled to find workouts which I can do safely as so many require jumping about and fast paced impact. Prior to COVID-19 I had joined a local gym, though struggled to fit it in to my routine between work, school runs and life in general.
However I am loving this workout. I can do all the movements at the highest level and keep the pace with Amy. My first few sessions I did have to stop for a drink and a pulse count midway though as my heart was racing, pulse was around 160. Now i've been doing it about 5 times per week for just over a month - i'm seeing small growth in my calve muscles and triceps toning, managing to do the full workout and then going back to start and completing another 6 mins roughly. Pulse now dropping to around 140/145 max - which shows my cardio is improving. I'm delighted and hopefully weight loss will start. I've only given so much detail about my personal circumstances above, to let Amy know how accessible this workout really is for all. Thanks so much Amy.

I just wanted to tell you that this video was my gateway video to home exercise. I started from a pretty bad place, mild asthma and chronic tendinitis in my knees that meant I struggled to get up from a crouch. A combo of this and your beginner's bodyweight program got me to the point where I don't even struggle to get up several flights of stairs or from the dreaded crouch position! I can now run to the end of my block without wheezing too! I recommended this video to all of my friends to pass along to others struggling because you opened a door to an impactful change in my quality of life! Thank you Amy you rock!

You're so positive; you make us beginners feel like we're progressing and not that we've got a long way to go to even make a dent in our fitness level. I've been using this video every morning with my mum and she LOVES it, makes her feel rejuvenated and it's the only this that gets us exercising WITHOUT making us feel like we're going to have a heart attack within the first 30 seconds of training. Even if we step it up a notch later we will always use this workout for the days in between the heavier cardio to keep the routine going and the blood flowing. So thank you! :)
