# NO.1 DISCONNECT BATTERY BEFORE DOING ANY OF THE THINGS YOU HAVE JUST WITNESSED, ITS SUPER IMPORTANT UNLESS YOU WANT TO ACCIDENTALLY DESTROY YOUR LOGICBOARD. NICE VIDEO APART FROM THAT.
I hope that surface doesn’t have any grit on it.
Hi,
Thank you for the video. I don't believe I saw the removal of the keyboard. Does replacement for the keyboard require the removal of any solder? I believe I saw solder being removed from a section of the keyboard for a MacBookPro15,2 Model. I want to know if anything past removing screws and undoing adhesive will be required for the keyboard replacment of the a1708 model.
Thank you in advance. Hope my question makes enough sense.
Sorry we usually leave these as a complete assembly since at minimum there are dozens of screws to remove. You may have better luck just replacing the assembly.
@@Sellbrokedotcom thanks. I already purchased the keyboard for replacement. Do you by any chance have a list of the necessary tools to do this full disassemble, or have a suggestion of a kit I might want to purchase which would include all necessary items?
@@franklinchaguendo4294 Bottom case removal is a 1.2 Pentalobe. Then I believe the rest are torx and phillips bits. I use this sort of set: www.ebay.com/itm/117-in-1-Magnetic-Precision-Screwdriver-Set-PC-Phone-Electronics-Repair-Tool-Kit/353009964796?hash=item52310896fc:g:wQcAAOSwW2ZecVbV
Can you show where aIrport card is located ?
On theTouch Bar models it is soldered into the logic board, like on this A1708 model. Pause at 2:35 and look on top right, the wifi antennas are connected directly to the logic board.
I need help. I pulled the ribbon without unclipping it. Now my lab top is not working. Please tell me how I can get my lab top working again.
I was trying to unplug the battery since I had water spilled on my lab top and now I created more damage. Please reply as soon as possible. Is it going to cost me a lot?
The damage has been already done. No Apple store is open and their earliest appointments are about a week and a half away. I had the spill on Friday so it’s been 5 days since that happened. I was trying to disconnect the battery then I pulled the skinny black ribbon (that you explain in 2:00 to 3:00 minutes) without unclipping it. I was asking you how I can reattach the ribbon to its place. I did not touch the motherboard or anything else. I just want to be able to get power in the computer and see how it’s doing.
@@aishaa1210 Hope you got it fixed. If not i'm about to take one apart to add some thermal paste to the processor and i'll check for you.
can you detail what you are doing at 3:59 ? I don’t get it because you’re not commentating and your blocking the view with your hand
Removed the small ribbon on bottom left from the logic board.
where is the ribbon connection for the keyboard to the motherboard?
At 7:53 once the speaker is removed, its the J-shaped ribbon underneath.
First remove the battery conector, is very important!!
