My favorite French Chateau site. I have followed others for a long time. However, I think Bordeaux Life is right at the top of the list. I am amazed at how much you have achieved while managing a wine estate, restoring a bedraggled home and raising two beautiful children with weddings on the side. Hats off to you! In the past I owned an antique store and I often attended auctions. I always had a total blast and I really enjoyed Edd giving a play by play and I was proud of my limited French that allowed me to comprehend the amounts. Thanks for the translations at the bottom of the window. I think Edd has a hit program on his hands! I realized the French also have someone to UP and START bids near the front of the Room. The bee set I’m not impressed with the covering either It is so important to position the pattern so it is symmetrical and they haven’t done with some of the pieces - a shame
I notice that there are often landscape style paintings that you pass over. While they may not be anything particularly special, I do always feel that a few landscapes in the mix of artwork in a space are a nice addition. It would be great to see you find one or two you like that work for rooms in the passion project.

I love the auctioneer's accent ! For the dishes, anytime there is metal on the rim, it has to be hand-washed as a dishwasher tends to remove any metal. You can check if it's metal or metal-coloured paint.

Loved the big box. I have one here in Australia ( authentic French one) and I have stored blankets and doonas in it over time. Now I have it just inside my French doors leading to outdoor patio and store my garden chairs cushions in it during wet and cold months. Keeps them dry and mould free. Havnt read other comments but fire log stands are called fire dogs. Loved watching auction, a break from renovating vlogs

Tip: Quality Persian carpets dyed with vegetable dyes are often cleaned using carbonated water, which causes dirt to bubble to the surface for extraction w/o stripping color.
Louis is a goofball, he thinks he's a movie star. Those oil lamps are too precious and fragile for a RENTAL. The Pakistan rug is MAGNIFICENTLY BEAUTIFUL!

That armour is worth everything you spent in total. The rest of it was all free IMO. Well Done! I think the armour should go in the master suite where Ana's table was. Great place to put suitcases for the guests and a place to lock their valuables if needed.

Sure that Louie will find his perfect rug at the perfect price very soon! And congratulations to Sarah...she has a vintage set of dirt encrusted curtains. I like the idea for the oil lamps using LAD's but I myself like functional things, so personally I would use them as oil lamps.
Loved joining you at the preview and auction, Edd (and Louis). I always get new insights accompanying you to brocantes, sales and auctions and observing as you, and often Anna, look at items, react to them in real time, do your research, share your perspective on the pieces and your ideas about price, value and plan for bidding. Your comments about being AT the preview in person and how revealing that can be really resonates with me. Very enjoyable vlog - the choice of combining the preview video and the auction video is brilliant.

I love the variety of your channel’s content! The auction (and other shopping excursions) are great fun to watch as here in western Canada we don’t see a lot of that type of furniture or decor items. Mid century modern is considered “old”.😆 Great catch on that armoire! Out of curiosity, did you catch what the carousel horse went for at the auction?

I don’t think you could go wrong on any of the items you selected. The fireplace pieces will be beautiful in the dining room. I love the clocks and the gold one would be perfect on the dining room mantel with the fireplace pieces. Sorry you didn’t get that clock but glad you got the fireplace pieces. The darker clock is also beautiful and would be lovely on a bedroom mantel. Wow love the commode and armoire!!! Congratulations!!
