Few other things that I carry on my long rides is:
1- Sunglasses
2- Extra Spectacles
3- 1 thin rope from decathlon
4- Helmet Cleaner + clean microfiber cloths
5- Chain Lube + Cleaner + Old toothbrush if ride is longer than 500 km
6- Knife and Lighter
Are contact lense suitable for rides.My glasses fog up when i exhale.
@@vaibhavsachan7591 Never tried contacts. For fogging up glasses, I use anti fog spray from Lenskart. Also, my new helmet has a breath deflector now to I don't need to use anti fog anymore.
Why not? As long as contact lenses are comfortable to wear it’s good. Depends on the ride duration also .. it may not be comfortable to wear contacts if u r riding 10 to 12 hrs. Also if u r doing off-road or dusty roads contacts not a good idea. Also u can’t open the wiser if u r wearing lenses as the wind n dust will not be good for u r eyes while wearing contacts. I can always wear contacts n switch to glasses after sometime for comfort .. obviously contacts will have their own inconvenience of cleaning in the night n all that.. so to summarize there is no rule that u should not wear contacts
Few additional tips such as:
1. Additional engine oil (recommended grade oil incase of top ups as some rides cross 5k km so in such cases its better to top up/replace engine oil by checking the oil level).
2. Chain cleaner + lube + cleaning brush (atleast for every 600 km if possible)
3. No need to carry clutch cables, accelerator cables and brake cables. Get them checked by mechanic before ride.
4. Never ever get the bike serviced just 1 day before the ride. Get the bike serviced 1 week before the ride so that any probems arised after the service can be rectified before the ride.
5. Change the brake pads, tyres if they're about to get replaced in few 1000 kms. You can use them after the ride as well but don't take any unnecessary risk while riding.
6. Avoid night rides as far as possible especially if you're a beginner.
7. Start your ride at 4 am and end it before sunset(around 7 pm especially if you're a beginner).
I always say " hope for the best, prepare for the worst. ". This is a video example of that line.

Though you made a passing mention of RSA.......but it's very important that the rider has enrolled for an RSA. Know cases where some riders did not have RSA and had to shell out thousands to have the bike transported to service station

Done 2 Times Before But 5700-5800 Km each time
I can usually drive 600-650 kms. a day on my Avenger 220 in almost 12-13 hrs. drive.
But yes, 1000 km is something to think about seriously.
