As a trombone player myself, I find this performance to be truly beautiful. Yes, Lindberg messes up some of the fast parts; however, he breathes life into this piece like no other musician could. People have forgotten the reason for music's existence, to express emotion in a way that words could not hope to describe it. We are far too caught up in technical ability to even hear the absolute beauty created by another, AND their mistakes. We cannot see beautiful things so easily anymore...
trombone... the most beautiful instrument in the world! and czardas is one of the most beautiful songs toplay on a trombone...thumbs up for christian lindberg!!
I love the show he puts on with the song, turns a straight forward song into an entertaining piece. I love his acting. Him and Roland play well together.
A great trombone player and one of the worlds best. I wouldn't call him the best, since there are many others who are just as amazing as he is. Lindberg doesn't just play this piece, he truly performs it.
[Quote]"I love how even the best of the best still have a sense of humor, and not this stuck up crap that most top notch musicans have. Lindberg = God... that pianst is pretty damn good too. " Agreed! And... wow...
I love how even the best of the best still have a sense of humor, and not this stuck up crap that most top notch musicans have. Lindberg = God... that pianst is pretty damn good too.
At least in classical music, nobody can beat his achievement for this instrument , Xenakis, berio, takemitsu, Nyman, Arvo part and countless other greatest composers of 20th century dedicate their music for him (so far more than 100 new concertos and too many new compositions dedicated for him), this achievement speak for itself, I think He is the Rostropovich of Trombone, GBU maestro🎉🎉🎉🎉
Like it or not, it's a perfect example of amazing chemistry between a soloist and his accompanist. The piano never gets in the way, takes over when it's his turn, backs away when it's not, and is always right with the soloist. Just what accompanying is supposed to be.
Lindberg is the best and most virtuoso trombonist of all time, it has everything one wants, their abilities are the best trombonist, his sound in the end, he's the guy ...
His prominence in trombone technique has been established for years, but I think his entertainment value is under rated. He's one of the chief entertainers of classical music.
Non ci sono commenti per quello che è stato il più grande trombonista di tutti i tempi....tecnica, espressione, forza, simpatia...Lindberg ha elevato questo strumento...lo ha reso uno strumento di serie A.... A.G.
agreed supertromboneman, they're a great team. some of us are intimidated or put off by classical music, so the humor is wonderful and helps "find a way in" and learn to enjoy it
If you have a large bore (.547"), he has a whole line just for them that includes the 2CL, 4CL, and 5CL, and all of them have slightly different qualities. On the other hand, if youve got a small-medium bore like me (.460" - .508"), then he has the 10Cl for that. The other models 13CL and 15CL are specifically for the Alto Trombone, but you can still use them on a tenor.
oMG!! What im about 2 say has nothing 2 do w/ the c. lindberg but i gota say it anyway cuz im just so super excited!!!! I made the super selective top band at my school which am really young 2 b in!!! wer really good. in fact r entire school is! All bands made sraight 1s at UIL and wev one every contest wev ever been in! Im very excited and ready 4 the chalenge of wind ensemble!!!! watch ur back cl!!!
@SupraStarrr He plays on his own custom lindberg mouthpiece made by conn. I wouldn't recommend the lindberg mouthpiece for a beginner, but to answer your question, the cup is definitely smaller. The rim is narrow and very rounded (which is the only thing I like about it), it's a pretty shallow cup, and the throat is almost the same size as a tuba mouthpiece (meaning it's huge). The back bore is pretty similar to a barrel style. Always try a mouthpiece before you buy it. They're expensive.
@leedshereigo Lindberg is considered one of the best trombone players in the world for a reason. This performance was intentionally lax and and humorous, thus the ludicrous 'stage craft'. In fact, a performance like this just goes to show just how good of a soloist he is. He can impress the audience and make then laugh at the same time, thus making it very entertaining.
nice. i got myself a AU$3000 James Morrison 15th anniversary edition Yamaha trom about 2 years ago. this is my 10th year of playing trom. i'm currently learning (or rather, 'polishing up') the third movement of N. Rimsky-Korsakov's "Concerto for Trombone and Orchestra". If you haven't already played this piece (including 1st and 2nd [i've played them too] movemet), i'd say try looking for that. My tutor has the only original in Australia... i could scan then send you the trom part if you want?
eres realmente un icono como trombonista........yo espero ke mas adelante te ingenis un metodo en donde reuna unas series de metodogias para ke la gente quiera ser como tu...felicitaciones
Great to see such World Class, serious musicians who take their music very seriously BUT NOT THEMSELVES. Thank you. It raised my spirits. But World's best? Certainly up there with the world's finest but being challenged, rather ruthlessly by Hungarian Zoltan Kiss of Mnozil Brass. He's also a zany Monty Pythonesque idiot... A fabulous idiot. He also raises my spirits, the absurd ones! Hold on! What do I know? I'm a confounded sax player!! Lowest of the low!
@SnafeComposed Christian Lindberg is the best trombone virtuose. Consider the technique and repertoire. This piece is on the studio recorded album The Virtuoso Trombone.
I have one of his mouthpieces, the 10CL, and it is much better than all the other ones ive tried before. If you are a trombonist, i recommend that you buy or at least try one of his mouthpieces (and if you can, get it gold plated too). His playing is awesome in all the registers, and I hope to play close to that good someday...
wow u guys r good. Iv been playing trombone for a year and the hardest thing iv played is all i ask of you and the music of the night. Both peices are extremly easy except for slow tempo and braces took there toll on me. Any advice on how 2 beat braces???
Cool. I'm 17 too and I've also written for piano. For year 12, I've written an acoustic + electric guitar duet =) Trombone is my fav. instrument to play on, and I'm hoping to get into the AIM next year for a Bachelor of Music degree =) Are you in year 12? What kind of bands are you in?
@MastodonRockss Okay thanks :) has he got like a special (smaller) mouthpiece or something, or is he just really good...? I have a yamaha 48 mouthpiece if that means anything to you haha.
定期的に観にきてしまう!
見せ方も、二人の間も、すばらしい!
笑わせるだけじゃなく技術も真似できません

One should even mention anything about wrong notes at this level of playing.
I just love the trombone it is the most fun instrument I have played and I still do
技術もあって観客が楽しくなるような演奏ができるのうらやましい

I bet he oiled that slide like grease on a baby's hind. Lol bravo. He has earn my respect. People in my class barely can blow a whole note..
Not just technical mastery, but brilliant interpretation and showmanship. My respect for Christian continues to grow.
A true musician can entertain the audience. Christian Lindberg is a true musician.
And that, my friends, is how a god goofs around on a trombone. BRAVO!!!
A great trombone player and one of the worlds best. I wouldn't call him the best, since there are many others who are just as amazing as he is.

Agreed!
And... wow...
he inspired me to learn trombone. I still appreciate it.
Simply jaw dropping… what a performance. CL really moved the instrument forward
Sure he blows a few notes towards the end, but he's so amazing because of the energy with which he performs.
I love how even the best of the best still have a sense of humor, and not this stuck up crap that most top notch musicans have.

Thats a High C jumped to Top C! Unbelievable! And what shock me most is the part which he could squeak as soft as a mouse playing notes like Top C.

Я счистаю, что этот шедевр должен ивидеть каждый человек. Вот он, музыкант во всей своей красе
Браво!
Brilliant! A glory of stage performance

26 people can't do this on their woodwind instrument.

it's entitled "Csardas" by Monti. it wasn't originally for trombone, so you'll probably have to find it and traspose it.

The Best....
Muy bueno Christian!!!
watched this for school!
yo this dude is sick
Muy creativa la actuación, me hizo reir.
BRAVO
Anybody know the name of the video on youtube where lindberg plays pictures at an exihibtion and romeo and juliet. It was at this same concert.
thats pretty damn cool really....
This is to comment on the horn he is using. This is a Conn 88H but not with his CL2000 rotor.
Christian Lindberg is nothing in the face of God...Christian Lindberg knows how to play a trombone with the talent that God gave him...
@knifenewbie456 I think he hums into the horn when he reaches the 6th octave :P Pretty impressive regardless :)
"this is my lady jam." #pitch perfect
thanku 4 ur support
Try editions Tarrodi's website, they do loads of sheet music that Lindberg has done.
INSPIRATIONAL :D
well right now i'm playing a viola version, i just ordered one for trombone from sheetmusicplus. so right now it's half by ear and half by music.
AWESOME!
Anyone know what type of trom that is? =)
