The most impressive thing is actually the part where the conductor moves the slide for her. He does not have the normal positional cues of a trombonist of how far his arm is moving out, only the visualization of the position of the slide in relation to the bell of the trombone. This could easily result in being a bit sharp or flat. Couple this with the coordination of the movement of the slide by the director with the production of the notes by the lips of the trombonist, and this was a really impressive trick.
I did this with my trombone teacher. If someone who studied trombone do this with you, like my teacher did with me it's not difficult to do. But nevertheless it was impressive.
I stumbled across this video by accident and all I can say is wow! I have saved it for a day when I may be miserable because it would certainly cheer me up. Thank you.

Great to hear a brilliant female soloist, there are never really enough of them in brass bands or jazz big bands.
