Beautiful bowl Chad. I am a fairly new turner and have been using Acks pastes with great results. Thank you for doing the video. Keep them coming. Stay well.
Nice job, you do excellent work! Talking as you work would add tremendously to your videos. People are looking for ideas and instruction as they watch these videos, voice would add that! 4000 views and only 150 thumbs up should tell you something
Thanks, John! You’d be surprised at the complexity talking adds, for me at least... Since it’s not a conversation, I tend to ramble. The amount of talking depends a lot on the project and how well the words are coming out that day. Haha. Thanks for watching!
@@chriswalters1014 HI Chris, you need to subscribe to our channel and put a comment on Sundays video and state where you are from for a chance to win a free paste kit. So you want to put in a comment on Todays drawing video "Oct.25th Drawing". is the name of the video. We are in the process of downloading it now at 2 PM est. Thank you Chris and a big thank you to Chad!!
Hi Chad....it's difficult to tell if the stock is spalted or just nicely grained. That said, it's another beautiful turn. I am amazed at what comes out of the relationship among wood, fungus, and insects...symbiotic art....now all this needs is a little fractal burn! Best to you and stay healthy.
The spalting is in what appears to be the sapwood, although there is no distinct line between heartwood and sapwood in this piece. Regardless, it turned nicely and I think a piece from a bigger log would show off the gain a little better. The grain has an interesting look - reminiscent of hackberry though a totally different color. As always, thank you for watching and commenting! I hope you're well!
Beautiful bowl Chad! Nice to see you giving Acks a try. I’ve been using the sanding and restoring pastes for about 8-9 months now and personally, I love them! Keep up the great work man! Seth
@Chad Eames WoodWorks, If you were wanting to make 4 bowls in the same size and shape is there a way to go about doing that, do you have a video on something like that where you make more than 1 of a bowl??? Love your video's thank you for posting them...
Thanks, Joe! I don't really make bowls that are the same size and shape intentionally. There are a few ways you could do it depending on how exact you want them. I'd say start with blanks that are all the same size regardless of which method you use. Eyeballing it, you could make a sequence of cuts that are repeatable on each blank to get them to the same dimensions. First, do the outside of all the bowls, then the inside of all of them. Or, you could make templates of the external and internal curvatures of the bowl using cardboard or the like, and hold those up to the piece to determine where you need to cut to make it match. I hope that helps (and makes sense)... Let me know how it goes if you try it. Thanks for watching!
I use a Papermate Liquid Flair pen. Sometimes I seal my signature under CA glue and this is the only ink I’ve found that the CA doesn’t smear. Thanks for watching!
Unless you’re eating the bowl, it doesn’t really matter. The finish will cover it and seal it in. It’s minwax professional formula. Best thing I’ve found that maintains the wood color and doesn’t give the bowl an amber tint.
beautiful again Chad
Beautiful finish on a beautiful bowl!
Gorgeous bowl
What a beautiful wood the grain and awesome bowl.

By the way, the one is very beautiful and strange, admin👍👍👍

That has turned out great. I’ve never come across red elm before, it looks like a nice wood to turn.
Yeah it turns nicely. I’ll definitely be on the lookout for some.

@@ChadEamesWoodWorks If you use a Pitt Artist Pen, it uses India ink and does not smear and is permanent. they come in different tip sizes.
“Food Safe Finish”, but no description of the Sanding Sealer used.
