Ok I love when you do that sound and shake the camera. It cracks me up every time 😂
Archery Mom Five Hi Archery Mom 5! 🙃
That looked so good! Glad to see places like this open.
My hometown of Natchez!
The Carpetbagger looks a lot like the lead singer of Blues Traveler
I can see it, can he play the harmonic , somewhere on a midnight dreary , he likes coffee and maybe tea, and the π looks great
The pie looked beyond delicious!!
I find this extremely interesting , thank you for sharing !!! 💞
Mississippi would have a restaurant..... so disgusting
Wow! That is just the coolest thing. What a great place. Pie did look very good. TFS
It’s not a great place, bitch. The original mammy’s was painted black.
Man that is a awesome place. That food looks really good.
Southern Food Junkie Agree
well at least you can count on that no colored folk will eat there.
Goober, you're a disrespect to the South. Catch up with the times.
what? you going to tell me the blacks would eat there?
I'm sure there has, on occasion.
Natchez is pronounced to rhyme with matches.
Passed by there last week comin from sibley/Natchez.
Loved this one!
Lol! A hissing mammy.
That pie looked awesome!
Now her arm and tray is gone
That pie looked delicious!
🍰🍰🍰🍰🍰🍰🍰🍰🍰
I want to visit all these places lucky duck!!
4:19 - 😂😂😂 I was just typing, "Looks like you missed your opportunity to do that kweeee thing you do." 😂 I should have known better.
Now that is a different style of restaurant to eat in thanks for another great vlog. until next time.
The unexpected QWEEEEEE!!!! noises make these videos the best.
I was so glad to see this video from my hometown! I miss home. Maybe not Natchez (btw, it rhymes with matches), but definitely miss the South. Thanks for this video! 💗😊
The pie looks delicious!
Was the food good at least?
that banana pie look good af man i just ate now i want dessert
thats cool, but I assume they changed her to a lighter skin tone to not be accused of promoting black face
i think she just lost her skin tone over time. LOL
+Real Vills I think so
Restaurant owners: They can’t cancel us if we’re camouflaged. 😂
it's kind of like if you would go in through the front door there you are violating Mammy's Dignity
What an amazing little place... feeling hungry now 😁
I I saw Adams vlog here so I was waiting for yours. Very cool my dude
What a cool place! Lots of little things everywhere inside. Wonder if the same family has run the place for all these years?
I can't believe I just told my dad she has Delicious Pie under her dress
2:19 - That looks amazing! 😋
Boy that pie looks delicious
Like how no one can see anything wrong with this 😂
Found a picture of it when it had the gas pumps: www.flickr.com/photos/drmillerlg/387415843
awesome!!
1:53 - Adam the Woo?!?
Since the owner's took the time to make her into a less offensive white lady (1950's house wife?) It's surprising that they kept the original name. If is was called Mother's Kitchen most tourists would write it off as cheesy old roadside advertising.
You know times have changed when you don't even get a full pickle on your plate.
I like it when u hiss its funny XD
interesting... :)
I guess the pie was better than the sandwiches lol
I am glad they didn't tear it down. It is history. .
Could you please explain why they sell black African American mammys at their souvenir side of the shop? And no the mammy didn't lighten over the years. They repainted her to make her look white to attract people in. And what's up with that cutout of mammy but she's African American on it.
+Lyrik Kal they are actually not for sale
The Carpetbagger but the whole concept of this is racist
The pie looked great. So small wonder how fit s kitchen. The statue outside looks like she been sippin a bit of that cookin moonshine. The figurines were any 4 sale. Though those figurines were a bit of uh not nice. It does represent history and would not be suprised if worth s lot of cash
does anyone not see the problem with this.......
Deja Vaughn Yes...but it's fucking America. The land of lies, deceit and bloodshed.
of course, how could i forget
Darkstalker 212 Precisely, fuck "America"
Wow, so not PC and I love it! May it stay in business for a good long time. 👏 Go Mammy!
Weren't you here with your daughter a few weeks back? Or is this another skirt themed diner?
wow we had those tall sized mammy and Butler salt shakers when I was a kid. I played with like they were dolls.
Hi carpet bagger,
I have a video I took yesterday while at a car museum in Evansville Indiana. I would like to share it with you but not sure how to do it. I think you would like all the nostalgia in it.
+Rebecca Black upload to RUclips
I've uploaded them. I'm not the best camera girl. It's in 2 parts because I fumbled my phone.
Kool history
Such a unique little eatery. Love it!
Ha ha, couldn't quite get to that straw could ya, Jacob! Pure awesomeness again! How do you find these places?
mmmm. pie.
I'm not sure I would trust the history of that proprietor, she's a latecomer to this building. Yes there used to be Shell gas pumps out front, I used to run them as a child. My aunt and uncle ran this place for decades. I spent some of the most memorable moments of my youth running in and out that door.
Under that tray she's holding used to be a Budweiser neon sign and horn loudspeaker connected to the jukebox inside. Across the room from where you were sitting used to be a pinball machine. That back building (the dining room) wasn't part of the original building, it was added on later to accommodate the growing business. And yes the state was about to offer them a check to raze the building and my relatives would have been happy to take it but the state changed their mind.
Oh yeah by the way it's just "Natchez" not "nat-chezz". Accent on the initial, rhymes with "matches".
Can you do a live.I have more things to tell you.
Im actually surprised no one is crying racist and demanding to be taken down.
+Johnny Zehner - America* and, how is it 'racist' ?
Aamria people are! You couldn’t pay me to eat that nasty shit! No matter how much you try to sugar coat it, the place is operated by a bunch of old time racists.
@@reginasmith9014 I wouldn't go in there. I'd probably get hate crimed
love watching your videos and seeing neat places around me. However, is there a way you could steady the camera any more?? it makes me motion sick sometimes because it's jerking and shaking around, you pan around at sights so fast! otherwise - love it! lol. you live in an area of NC that my husband and I love and hope to buy property in someday, lucky man. :)
Children crawled in the past always under mother's skirt.
i will confess, those little figurines are pretty cute! :)
woo @1:31
HOLY CRAP THAT PIE LOOKS GOOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
+Marcus Jones it was good
So cool!!
Sad that the politically correct, crybaby, trophy-for-everyone crowd had stripped this historic establishment of its original (magnificently beautiful) color scheme.
These kind of things make me feel really uncomfortable so idk how to feel about it. The historical significance of its structure is important but it's also a reminder of a threatening and hard time for black Americans. So idk, not a fan but what can you do :/
+Ra k I think we should leave it to help us remember
It need to be burned down by slave labor.
It needs to be BURNED down INCLUDING THE RACITS WHO OWNS AND WORKS IN IT...food poisoning, cockroaches, and unsanitary conditions in there too
I'm a Lil offended
+angela burt tell us
angela burt only a little?
So they kept the restaurant because of historical place? I know a lot of people would be up in arms.
Only ignorant people.
Lol!!! Magically she grew a lighter skin.....then it was magically ok.
Needs to be repainted
I don't care if people call that place "racist". It's a great historical place that should be preserved to show how much we have grown and that yes, black women are great cooks. My neighbor Miss Lue is a great cook and as sweet as can be. I love her to death. ^^
Of course you feel that way. You're not black. You will never see an african american customer in this building. The clientele is all white. African American people dont eat there. Should be a clue. Why do people have to be so sick and evil?
@@fundifferent1 Have you ever been there? Do you actually know if no black customers go in there?
It's no different than all the establishments that are r@cist to white people, and have stereotypical white trash depictions of white people. Or stereotypes of Irish people.
I don't understand what the problem is. I've met black people who don't see it as an issue, and think that it's important to have examples of history.
@@Aelita3575 There are PLENTY of photos, videos and reviews online and you will not find a SINGLE African American person in this business. I can't imagine any black person being okay with this. What type of sick world do you live in where you think black people would be okay with this? I HIGHLY doubt you have met any African American that is okay with this. liar. This is sick.
@@fundifferent1 Why did you pick my reply out of all the replies? There are other people down there calling it "cute" and "nice".
I called it a historical landmark. I never said the eaterie needed to stay open. But it is a landmark of how far we've come as a country.
I never said I knew black people who wanted to go there. I just asked if you've been there. Heck, I've forgotten what the building is called, and it's probably torn down by now. It's been five years!
But what's the difference between buildings that make fun of white people, and have a whole theme of white people being toothless hillbillies and white trash, and this building?
Or establishments making fun of Irish people? Irish children were sl@ves too, and worked for 18 hours a day, slept crammed into tents together, and were beaten daily.
first lol
This is sick.
