- I created an emergency shelter - AFRAME - Using an ARBOR knot to lock logs. I covered it with a tarp. Set up a cot and sleeping bag and found a culvert to create a fire pit. The overnighter was a success and made breakfast the following morning.

long time to cut those Logs.
EL Paul Bunyan cool vid
I agree with you. It seams that survival is comfort if you have a cot to sleep in
Would've been nice to see the fireplace in action.
I am currently building the fireplace and chimney and building a structure around it

Hello Timberline
I do not understand why one would put so much energy into a survival shelter. If you are concerned about survival, you need, in my opinion, to use that tarp and a ridge line to quickly make an A frame shelter, then have a fire, eat, and sit back, conserving your energy. Too much work to your A frame for me.
Excellent suggestion and I am starting the tarp shelter as you suggested. I am also using the culvert to make the chimney for the fireplace. Should keep me warm.

Looks like a human deadfall.
Don’t camp in my state please we use tents to save the trees
Hey Kenneth, did you not see that this is an example of a survival shelter? No matter where you live I'm sure the forest can tolerate a couple small trees being thinned out haha
