How to build a Bushcraft Bridge Start to Finish (ATV Bridge)
I gathered logs to create a bridge over the creek. I used lashing to connect the logs on the platform. Place a log structure below the bridge for support and dug down 30 inches to go below frost line.

I went with Eric on a trophy hunt in Colorado. We scouted the area and chased Big Bulls and on the last day Eric shot his dream bull. He waited 26 years to go on the hunt and was grateful to see big bulls and lucky enough to harvest a trophy. #elk #elkhunt #elkhunting #bigbull #hunting #hunt

We took the Willy's Pickup to the mountains for an offroad adventure. We found mudholes to navigate and water to cross. Also, we had several nights camping and cooked food in a BOX Oven. What are the specs on those fittings? I cant seem to find any specific info on thAt
@Chokora17 i talked to Ashley and they helped me, and then the hardware store found them for me
can you show all the parts thanks
Nice work Walt!! Looks warm & cozy!
Good idea, love that fireplace
Very impressive fireplace Walt!!
Your face cut left in the tree? Invest in some wedges my friend. Cheap and they can save your tail
Gotta love an old willard stretching its legs
Don’t camp in my state please we use tents to save the trees
Hey Kenneth, did you not see that this is an example of a survival shelter? No matter where you live I'm sure the forest can tolerate a couple small trees being thinned out haha
I agree with you. It seams that survival is comfort if you have a cot to sleep in
I do not understand why one would put so much energy into a survival shelter. If you are concerned about survival, you need, in my opinion, to use that tarp and a ridge line to quickly make an A frame shelter, then have a fire, eat, and sit back, conserving your energy. Too much work to your A frame for me.
Excellent suggestion and I am starting the tarp shelter as you suggested. I am also using the culvert to make the chimney for the fireplace. Should keep me warm.

@dennismain8030 Thanks, more great shelters to come
long time to cut those Logs.

Looks like a human deadfall.
Would've been nice to see the fireplace in action.
I am currently building the fireplace and chimney and building a structure around it

Hello Timberline
Great informative video! Been wanting to try winter camping in my popup blind as well. Would a kerosene heater, or Mr. Heater Buddy propane heater been helpful?
@@whatiate2000 the buddy heater would be the safest to take away the chill
You can pick this to pieces, but he'd obviously thought about it as it dropped where he wanted with no drama. Just ware a hard hat!
I have fell a LOT of trees (own an outdoor furnace) and I have a bad lower back. I NEVER fell a tree at ground level and never understood why one would put themselves in that position of such limited movement. I notch mine at waist level so I am mobile, I can better swing an axe on my wedges and can better watch what the tree is doing. After I fell the tree and buck it, I cut off the remainder of the stump at ground level and get an extra round out of it...easy peasy and safer too. Just my opinion and I know everyone has one...give it a try and see for yourself!
looks good to me
humboldt face cut is an interesting choice here
@@kayvte5487 don't know what that means. It says to cut a "V" to help tree fall
shoot its a old deer you can tell by the sway back and sagging belly
@TerryLaRue-yk6hh I did not even think about that. I was so focused on the rack and the size of the body. Thanks, I will make sure I pay attention to those characteristics

@tonybrown8692 thanks, I created my first box oven over 20 years ago as a boy scout leader to teach cooking.
@@TimberlineTrekkersthis box is amazing!!
Wow🎉
Congratulations on your hunt. Broccoli & carrots are lighter, but I too like elk stakes :) Are you using your phones to record or what were you using?
@veythach6101 I use a canon camera with 50x Zoom (long distances), my go pro, and cell phone.
Congrats on the hunt. How does antelope taste compared to elk? Thanks for sharing.
@veythach6101 it is a sweeter meat in my opinion, and I turn the ground into sweet Italian sausage for spaghetti
How did the rear window bust out? Gear move around in the back and hit the window?
@xziang when he went into the mud hole, it twisted on the frame, and the pressure caused the window to break. The mudhole had a drop off and was about 3-4 feet deep
Congratulations! Thanks for sharing. Was this near Trinidad?
@veythach6101 no, it was near castle mountain
That's impressive. Congratulations on an awesome hunt. Was this 3rd rifle season? I"m hoping to get my first Colorado mule deer either this season or hopefully next year (whenever I can draw my tag).
@veythach6101 No, it was 4th season and full rut. All the bucks showed up the night before and started chasing does the day we were hunting. Good luck, and do a lot of scouting just before the opening day.
@@TimberlineTrekkers thanks for the advice! If you have any opinions or if I can pick your brains about Schultz canyon and/or Black hawk state trust land, please email me. Thank you.
@@veythach6101 The key to any area is scouting and finding water. Small STL like these, may not have water (Water holes). I have found a few with water holes or ranch tanks for cattle and I have hunted them with success. Put up a few game cameras if possible and spend time glassing the STL and see if the animals are passing through. If there are deer (Does) the bucks will come during the rut. (Last two weeks of November)
Great video. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for sharing. Beautiful scenery. Was this a 1st season hunt? Thanks.

@lamerica5219 2 hours to build the bed, and it was very comfortable. The soup was outstanding. We wished we had more!!
Thumbs up for the greatest opening riff of all time.
