Very well put!! Keep pumping out those videos! We all need to do our part to carry out The Great Commission and get the Holy Spirit working in the Amish communities!
Thank you for deciding to make a channel like this. I've been enjoying watching and learning about the Amish. I know you like to learn about and from the word of God so I've felt led to let you know about a channel on you tube that will give you an amazing look into the word of God. The channel is called " Truth is Christ ". Have fun being amazed about the Word of God and being able to know that they are the true words of God. God Bless.
My family was with the Mennonites for a while, but ended up leaving for several reasons- one reason was that they didn’t allow homeschooling! I wore the head-covering for many years, but don’t anymore. I found that it made me prideful, and unnecessarily separated me from other Christians. Please pray for our ministry. We are in India and we serve homeless families, leper colonies and the beggars here.❤️
As usual, very interesting and well thought out. Two important points you make are crucial for all Christians and those who merely think of themselves as Christians. 1) The NT teaches strongly we are saved by faith alone. To many Anabaptists, that is of secondary importance. 2) A genuine Christian will live out the NT ethic. That is something many evangelicals conveniently ignore in a very immoral society. Sadly, it seems that the Amish focus far more on their own traditions than the NT.
I’m from southern Illinois and we had Amish neighbors when I was younger. My dad tried very hard to witness to them. When he would talk about the Bible, they would just flat ignore him and act like he wasn’t talking.
The Amish are taught that non-Amish people will not understand the way they do things and that non-Amish people will decieve them if they let them. Especially about Biblical matters. There's Fear and brainwashing.
I have that same pink Bible! I got it at Wal Mart. 😁 I can't tell you how thankful I am to also come out of this kind of religious setting! My husband's family are still in the Apostolic/Pentecostal church which is very very works based. I know they mean well, but it is kinda scary to be caught up in works. Jesus is so much more gracious that I realized before. Praise God!
Check out Luther’s “Concerning Christian Liberty,” or “On the Freedom of a Christian,” maybe find the Deutsch ones, since you already read his Bible translation! He repeats Paul’s realization of grace as a German Catholic instead of a Roman Jew.
You didn't precisely define what makes a person a Christian. It is this: that they have been born of the Spirit. I know you know that. To be a Christian means to receive His Spirit. It means it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me. I know you know that. Many will come in that day and say they were Christian, and He will say: "I knew you not". Many of us make the mistake of thinking we are Christian. But we must be born again to gain that title. And, yes, I appreciate you using the KJV because you don't want to offend anyone. I use many versions and the original greek. But you set a very good example of not wanting to offend. I am enjoying your videos and watching the journey you and your husband are on. Keep it up!!
In Isaiah 64:6, it says that all of good deeds are like filthy rags. If it were up to us to save ourselves, it would be like trying to clean something with a filthy rag. Our sinful will always get in the way. We have been made clean in Christ through His death and resurrection!
Succinct. I'm really enjoying hearing your story and your biblical answers. I appreciate that you read larger passages from the Bible-it's so good to have things in context. I have a question. Like another viewer, I grew up in Illinois and interacted with an Amish community several times a year throughout most of my life. I was always troubled that no one smiled. Do you think that was because I was English? Or is there a lack of joy in that community? Or maybe it's just a social norm there to be very reserved? I am still troubled and confused by those memories.
It's very likely a little of all three. From a little child, they are taught that non-Amish people will decieve them, and they have to be kind to them, but don't let them get too close! It's part of the brainwashing.
@@AmishTransformed Thank you for sharing your thoughts on that and giving me more information to better understand those past interactions. God bless you and your husband.
I watch Pastor Gary Hamrick on RUclips. He teaches from rhe Bible. I'm a new Christian, but have gained so much knowledge studying with him. I love walking in faith with Jesus. He can be found on YT at Cornerstone Chapel in Leesburg TN. God bless everyone.❤️🙏
I'm glad you said "according to my understanding ". The Bible includes a lot of teachings and different groups focus more on certain ones than others. For me and many other Christians, the heart of the gospels is Jesus' teachings re how to live and be and love and forgive, as stated in the Sermon on the Mount. There, Jesus said: For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. 15 But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins. Others focus more on being saved by grace. My understanding of the Amish is that they emphasize living the teachings. Who can say that that is less Christian?
"For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast." Eph. 2:8-9 NKJV
Do you have any tips on talking with the amish and how to help them see the truth about these things? My family has a very close connection with the amish in our area, and I know God wants us to help them get saved, I just don't always know how to bring these things up to them.
It is not the best idea to bring up Biblical things to the Amish because they are taught that no one else will understand why we do the things we do and that non-Amish will decieve them if they let them. You can talk to them about being kind, loving and forgiving, they will not mind those type of Biblical conversation. And other than that, I'd say definitely act king and loving towards them, that goes way farther than you'd think. And if they bring up Biblical things, just respond with something short and powerful instead of rambling on because there is also a lot of fear in the Amish about some things. They don't really talk about anything Spiritual and they don't have Bible Studies.
@@AmishTransformed thank you for your reply, I agree with alot of what you are saying. I do understand and know about alot of amish beliefs, and my family has a very close connection with them, and they trust and love my family. My husband has gotten many of his amish friends to talk about The Bible and their beliefs, some of them have asked for his advice about things and confide in him about their problems. We are very close. I'm a little more shy, so I don't talk as much, but I am always wanting to learn more about others so I can be effective when I do talk. I will just keep being kind and praying for them as well. Have a blessed day! I am so happy for you that you truelly got saved! Praise God!
I grew up in Holmes County, OH. I have been around the Amish for quite awhile. You are 100% correct. The Amish are not Christian. They all need to believe ON CHRIST to be saved and stop relying on themselves to get to heaven. Question, do you believe in the eternal security of the believer, or can one lose their salvation? - I believe you cannot. Ephesians 1:13, 4:30 John 6:47. 1 John 5:13
I did believe that one can lose their salvation, until recently when I was doing a video and I spoke with 2 of the people that have been following Jesus for a long time, that I have asked to keep an eye on my videos so that I don't spread false teachings. They both provided evidence from the Bible that one can not lose their salvation once we are truly saved. So I am learning. 😊 🙏
To answer your question, do the Amish believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God? Do they believe that Jesus is the Only Way to heaven? Do the Amish actually believe in a heaven and hell? Do they believe that Jesus Christ was crucified for the sins of the whole world and that He died, was buried, and rose again on the third day. Whosoever believes in this will have eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior.
Their are German decent people who wanted to remain a community apart from the English. Personally I'm a 5 solas Christian. Okay, actually it's four, one says Solus Christus meaning through Christ alone.
Some of them do, and some of them don't. I don't know too much about exactly how similar they are to Amish (the rules and traditions), so I couldn't give a percentage on how many Mennonites believe this way.

I, personally, don’t think the Bible can be followed to the exact. It’s only importance is to be used in it’s original purpose, to mock and degrade other beliefs. 9-11-01, only a few knew, and looked forward, to what would happen. And, not one of them gave a thought that children would die because of their acts. After the news made its rounds, many celebrated. Why? Eight children died because of religious hatred. If that fateful day of the real religious destruction happens , what will be most celebrated? That the religious won’t have to die anymore, or that evil is suffering/suffered. Does anyone consider the price children would pay? Just because, our faith being validated is more important. There are 250 million children alive today, who are younger than the youngest victim of those hijackings. Sure, it sounds good to have a redeemer, but the ending story shows a heavy, heavy price being paid by more innocent people. If the world went dark for one innocent person dying, I can’t imagine looking forward to a billion dying. Just saying!
